Republic - Seven Corners Ratings and Reviews
Four friends gather for supper before a show at Theater in the Round. That's the perfect setting for fun and enjoyment. That is what we got with Republic. They were having great happy hour specials, both food and drink, that we took advantage of. Everything was delicious and the drinks were not watered down. Our server was very helpful and made great recommendations. We would definitely return. The only downside was getting our car towed from the lot across the street because we put the ticket upside down. A very expensive ($135) lesson in pay parking lot etiquette. Just handle the parking correctly and you will have a great time at Republic.
Great experience. They accommodated our large reservation (11 people) and then were not annoyed when 3 people bailed last minute (even if we were annoyed at our friends..). Food and drinks were great and the service was good too. We had kids and they were all happy. Overall great experience.
The front door brings you through the bar and at the end the hostesses are waiting. We sat down at a table that was a sticky wood feeling like a dirty bar. My wifes water and drink glass was chipped. The waitress welcomed us and since we are new to the bar told us it is known for their 100 kinds of beer. That is the only thing this place will be known for. The food was brunt a long with the fries and was so bad I only made it half way through it. The waitress didn’t even ask how the food was or notice it was only half gone before taking it from the table. I didn’t have a problem with the waitress or her service but will not be returning due to the food and ambiance of the place.
We have eaten at Republic many times and enjoyed the breakfast options and good service. The staff is friendly and willing to offer opinions on menu items. The food was overall well prepared and served hot. Although we didn't partake this time, their bloody mary bar is a tasty way to start your Sunday, especially if you are heading to the game.
Inadequate facilities and staff for the size. Waited over 35 minutes for 'bar food' (burger and fries). Was a constant line of 8+ people for restrooms (only 2 'single lane' facilities for a large venue). Weather was nice, and the large patio was open -- which only makes the issues worse.
Probably a nice place on a weeknight, when it's not crowded (but then why would you want to be there?), but not recommended on Friday/Saturday nights, when the weather is nice, or there is a concert or football game at the stadium.
Our group of seven were given a nice table away from the crowd so we could celebrate our special occasion. Great food, amazing on tap beer selection and excellent service. This venue is close to both the university and downtown, with plenty of parking near by.
Don't ever go here before a concert. Poorly unable to handle business and I had a reservation. Took 2 hours to get 1 round of drinks and dinner. Had to get our own silverware and napkin. They never brought our appetizers or the second round of drinks we ordered. Won't ever go here again before a big event. They can't handle it. Just not prepared. Ruined the pre concert experience.
Went here after a day of travelling. Sat outside on the patio on a beautiful July evening. Good central location and walking distance to/from our hotel. I got the fried chicken sandwich. Really good with great pickles. Teen daughter got tacos= also good. They were out of my first two choices of wine, so that was a bummer. Everything else was great. Seemed to have a huge beer list.
Gotta laugh! All four of us used to frequent the Republic location when we were undergrads and it was called Sargent Preston's. It hasn't changed much and we had a great time. Beer menu is greatly improved over the last 40 years and the cider menu isn't bad either.
The happy hour was incredible at Republic. They had such great prices for appetizers and drinks. The guacamole was pretty tasty as well as the nachos. Everyone also really enjoyed the fish and pulled pork tacos. We got a seat on the patio (with 10 people) which was really nice.
Date night with the hubby. We always love this restaurant. There's a great drink menu - lots of beer choices for him, and for me (the non beer drinker) there's 16 different choices of ciders. The food is creative bar fare - we had the fish and chips and duck burger and both were fabulous. Nice pub atmosphere too. We'll definitely be back!
Our brunch food was all just fine, but nothing out of the ordinary. My husband's Diablo Hash was not spicy as described. He added lots of hot sauce. My niece liked the Bloody Mary bar, lots of additions. Our server was less than attentive. We had to flag her down several times to get refills, more syrup, etc.
We went there before going to theater in the round . The service was horrible - we ordered our drinks and the server forgot to put them in she was so busy. We went to bar after and ciuldbr get any response from the one bartender & finally left & went across the street where there were 3 bartenders .
