Republic Chophouse Ratings and Reviews
The selections were great and the food was prepared wonderfully. The portions were just right. The price of the meal, however, was sky-high. We came to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we are glad we did—it was a special night. Just be prepared to shell out the bucks.
Went here for dinner in conjunction with Packers game night following. I highly recommend this place to anyone from out of town looking for a great place. Service, food outstanding. Great to have a drink at the bar after the meal too. Great energy there. Manager very accommodating and makes sure you are treated well.
Came to Green Bay on a Sunday prior to the Packers Monday night game and my husband and I were looking for a place to get a nice steak. I read the reviews for Republic Chophouse and decided to give it a try. We both had the 8 oz boneless tenderloin. We both requested it medium rare and shared a side of crab mac. The steaks were cooked perfect and cut like butter. The crab mac was very creamy and loaded with crab. Quality service and food made it an outstanding evening.
The experience was exceptional, from the hostess and coat check person, the atmosphere, the food and wine selection and the special attention our server Trista provided. The bone in Ribeye was outstanding. We will be back! I have already recommended The Republic Chophouse to my friends whenever they are in Green Bay.
Food was excellent. We were a table of three , celebrating a birthday, seated in the back corner of the restaurant, surrounded by a table of 7 who were VERY VERY NOISY. Needless to say, it ruined our evening.
When we arrived, there were other options available but the hostess seemed oblivious to the fact that the adjoining table was set up for a party of 7. When leaving, the hostess was told about our disappointing experience. She offered an apology but didn’t seem overly concerned.
(As a suggestion, when someone asks for lemon w their water - please do not serve the lemon wedges on a cocktail napkin...use a plate!!! Seriously!!!)
I cannot say that it is not a decent place, the service was great and the food was good. Good being the key word. The cost here is easily double what it should be for the quality. I had the aged reserve rib eye for $79. This steak was no better than what I could get at my local meat market! This is a fine place to go, just know that you are paying double what you should for the quality of the food. Staff was very friendly.
Our server was excellent and the chef created amazing dishes. It was the best steak I've ever eaten in my life. Richer dishes were balanced well with acids, the chef is very competent and I have already recommended this establishment to friends. The hostess was very pleasant, our pre dinner cocktails were also great. Wonderful experience. The only bad thing is that I can't dine there every night!
Our first visit to the Republic Chophouse knocked us out! There were three adults, and our waitress, Jolene was just superb. The food was simply outstanding - the chef made a dark chocolate torte for dessert that was, quite honestly, the best restaurant dessert I've ever had. I will be telling my friends about this excellent meal for a long time. We'll definitely be back next time we're in town.
The food and the service were both exceptional. Our waitress, Heather, did a fantastic job of being present without being intrusive. This was so important for a business meeting and she did great. My steak was absolutely delicious and the sides/appetizers were also excellent. I wish I lived near Green Bay to eat there again.
I was told this was the best restaurant in Green Bay. Based on my experience, I hope that is not accurate. The shrimp appetizer was undercooked. The almost $70 aged ribeye that was ordered Pittsburgh style came out gray and medium...my client did not eat more than a couple bites. My sea bass tasted OK, but smelled very fishy when it was put on the table. The best part of the meal was the bread. I won't go back.
Awesome...the Steak was one of the most tenderest steaks i have ever had. Heather was prolly one of the best waitress i ever had she was very knowledgeable about the menu and the ingredients...she was awesome.
Definately would recommend this restaurant to others and her to be the waitress. ..
Exceptional Steaks.... Wonderful staff.... My wife and I really enjoyed the time (away from kids) and in this restaurant. We had a delightful dinner and we left happier and fully restored from such a superb experience. Worth the drive for us from Menasha... Not driving to Milwaukee for special events and / or great steaks... Enough said, we found our new favorite restaurant.
We had reservations so we got seated right away, though I think even without reservations I think we would have gotten seated right away. We had drinks at the bar but could not put our bar tab on our dinner tab, so we ended up paying twice. The drinks (old fashions) were ok, but not the best we have had. The food was delicious. Prices were EXPENSIVE, for the 2 of us, a total of 3 old fashions and 2 glasses of wine plus the meal was over $180 (including tip).
Food was delicious, especially the appetizers (shrimp fritters and beef kabobs). Although my tenderloin was overcooked (I asked for medium-rare and it was medium-well), it was still delicious (I ate the whole thing!). My spouse's gnocchi & beef was also delicious.
The atmosphere here is great, upscale contemporary steak house. They have a great beer selection and an adequate wine list. They also make great mixed drinks and there is plenty of seating in the bar/lounge area for cocktails before dinner. I love that they serve their food in courses that you are able to enjoy leisurely before the next course. I highly recommend the bacon wrapped scallops as a starter. They also know how to cook a steak, each one we ordered were cooked to the perfect doneness. The mac and cheese is kind of bland but everything else is excellent, save room for dessert because the red velvet cake is a must have and one piece will easily feed four adults. I do not recommend going here for restaurant week though.
