Fantastic dinner. Everything was top notch. Food service environment. Andre was a really great waiter, informative, friendly, funny. Could tell he cared about us. Took really good care of us. It was my girlfriends birthday and it was certainly a night to remember. Would recommend 100% and excited to return. Burrata, bone marrow and steak tartare appetizers were amazing. Filets were perfect. And cheesecake and key lime pie were delicious. You can’t go wrong with any of those selections and I’m sure the rest of the menu is delicious

I took my father to Repeal for lunch over the Thanksgiving holiday. I had the prime rib sandwich and my dad had a hamburger. Both were excellent. We enjoyed the menu choices and the stocked bourbons was impressive. Or service was outstanding and I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Dined here with my wife for Thanksgiving, and I failed to see the hype. Same cost as Morton's or Ruby's, but the overall experience was well under those competitors. I'd liken it to Texas Roadhouse, but that would besmirch Texas Roadhouse. Server was inattentive compared to what you'd expect for a $400 meal, and definitely inattentive compared to her peers whom I could overhear at other tables. She took her order verbally and didn't write anything down... And unsurprisingly, it was not correct. Bar drinks didn't arrive till halfway through the appetizer course, we were shorted a side, and she botched the dessert order. We ordered Irish coffees, but they were out of Jameson and subbed in Old Forester 86. Not a big deal, except she brought the bourbon and the Bailey's out in separate sniffers, claiming that they would curdle if they were mixed in the coffee... The only stand out thing about this place is the meat selection, with a couple of A5 wagyu steaks on the menu. If you take out the difficulty of obtaining real wagyu beef, there's nothing about the meal that can't be replicated by a semi-skilled home cook.

Great steak house on whiskey row. Can be pricey but you get what you pay for. My steak was a little undercooked but the bread alone made up for it. Steak fries are not really steak fries. Kind of like potato wedges. Great bourbon, steak and great time.

Started out slow as we had to wait for our table past our reservation time, but it quickly got back on track. Service was solid even during a busy night, Monday..who knew. Food was excellent. We started with a very flavorful salad course. For the main it was the best steak I had all year. My wife had an excellent meal as well-one of the specials of the night. Noise level was energetic but able to carry on a conversation without issue.

Hands down one the best restaurants in Louisville. Food and service are always fantastic. It is expensive but you get what you pay for. If you’re looking for a very nice restaurant in Louisville it would be a waste of money spending it anywhere else.

Absolutely amazing service and food. Our server josh went above and beyond and even helped my husband and I with our gender reveal during dinner. Him and the kitchen put together a special desert to reveal our baby’s gender. So sweet and creative. The chef brought our food out personally and everyone was super knowledgeable on the wine list or the food. The restaurant is very nice inside, perfect for a romantic evening. Will be going back.

We both ordered the 8 oz fillets which were cooked perfectly to our "medium rare" request. Great steaks. The starter, Oysters Rockefeller, was a disappointment. One understands that the starters are prepared early, but to be served "lukewarm to cold in the middle" is not acceptable. The side of "mashed potatoes" was over salted for our tastes. granted, we prefer a light hand on the salt. On a Monday night in late October, the restaurant was "slammed" and the bar scene was major. The related hotel, The Distill, is clearly a favorite with the Millennials and Gen. Z.

Meh is the comment that comes to mind. Nothing special here and $50 for breakfast for two is a bit much. Better local choices are available.

First let me say the atmosphere is amazing, although a little loud, but in an exciting sort of way, not in a "can't hear your conversation" sort of way! Our server, Christian, was amazing! He is absolutely one of the best in the business! He was knowledgable about the menu, the history of the building, bourbon and wine and more! Now on to the food! The crab cake appetizer was the very best we had ever eaten! It was pure crab with just enough bread crumbs on the outside to hold it together! Just big hunks of crab! Yum! We had heard so many times that Repeal had the best steaks in the city so we had to check it out. I am sad to say we do not agree! My filet was overcooked and actually charred on one side even though I ask for it to be medium well (a little pink). My husbands steak was under cooked even though he ask for medium well also. Yes, we could have sent them back, but unless something is inedible, we rarely do. We were just disappointed more than anything, steaks were still very edible and good, just not great! The $20 twice baked potato was not worth $20 even though it did have slices of truffle on top and truffle oil as an ingredient. The Caesar salad was a disappointment! The addition of white anchovies was different but did not elevate the salad in our opinion. The bread pudding was amazing! I highly recommend! Oh, the cocktails were subpar! I know this sounds like a total tear down of Repeal, but it is not! I think we had too high expectations and were just let down by our experience considering the price! So, with all that said, would I go back? Yes! I would but would chose very different menu items than this time. And I would probably skip cocktails and go for wine instead.

If you're into an exceptionally loud space, this is it! The bar scene is very vibrant and bourban selection incredible. Service was great but the food was weak - 8 oz filet, ordered "medium" was charred way beyond that level on one side, barely brown on the other, brown inside. Whipped potatoes - sluggish with no flavor. We could have theoretically sent it back for a replacement, but really just wanted to get out of the environment. Greatly prefer Jeff Ruby's and will go there in the future.

Great restaurant /bar located conveniently in the Hotel Distil right in the heart of bourbon row in downtown Louisville. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the sides were delicious. I’d definitely dine here again.
