Repeal is Whiskey Row’s only oak-fired steakhouse, located at the birthplace of J.T.S. Brown & Sons Bourbon Company in Louisville. A stylish departure from a traditional steakhouse, Repeal uses a wood-fired grill stoked daily with reclaimed American Oak bourbon barrels. Repeal is a tribute to the Repeal of Prohibition – a place to see, be seen and celebrate the rich tradition of the building in which it resides.

Had brunch at Repeal. After a wonderful stay at Distil, we had brunch before leaving town. Great food and great vibe. The service was outstanding. We commented how we should have made dinner reservations there, we’ll have to do that the next time we stay at Distil.

I always visit for dinner but decided to give it a chance at lunch. It was amazing and our server Tim was great. It was more on the quiet side not as busy like dinner. So if you are looking for something intimate during the daytime this is your place. 10/10 birthday well spent

Wonderful dinner. Excellent - really excellent service. Food was great. Top steak house a la carte pricey. Had the bone marrow, oak fired steaks, oak fired-carrots, and scallops. The key lime pie was well done. Good location.

Overall, the food was delicious. The filet Oscar and dry aged ribeye were outstanding, though the filet was drowned in far too much hollandaise. The biscuits were very forgettable and there was a very large eggshell in my eggs. The service was a bit lacking. We waited for quite a long time for service. I ordered a beverage that never came. We were there for an anniversary brunch, and there was really no acknowledgment of that. None of these are huge issues, by any means, but definitely a bit of a step down for experience when compared with restaurants we’ve been to of a similar caliber.

For just a breakfast, it was something we weren’t expecting. The place, the service, the food. We’re use to manufactured breakfast in our car or at work and we are missing out. This is a feeling restaurant. You walk in you feel something. You’re sitting you feel something. You feel important, bougie, for breakfast! Do yourself good, try this place.
