Repeal is Whiskey Row’s only oak-fired steakhouse, located at the birthplace of J.T.S. Brown & Sons Bourbon Company in Louisville. A stylish departure from a traditional steakhouse, Repeal uses a wood-fired grill stoked daily with reclaimed American Oak bourbon barrels. Repeal is a tribute to the Repeal of Prohibition – a place to see, be seen and celebrate the rich tradition of the building in which it resides.

Now serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch.

Josh was our server and was amazing. I asked specific questions about the Parker House Rolls, he did not know, but next thing I knew Brian, restaurant manager came by and explained the detailed process of the rolls. 18 Hours from start to finish. Being in the Newport, RI and having access to crab cakes, these were amazing along with the lobster bisque. The 14oz center cut NY strip, cooked to a perfect medium. The sides are family side and my friend and I's eyes were bigger than our stomachs. Two people 1 side is more than enough. In my opinion Million Dollar Mash potatoes needed more salt and pepper. Mac and Cheese is Mac and cheese, but still amazing. Overate but well worth every penny to celebrate my military retirement.

We were excited to finally eat here, as it frequently is regarded to being better than Jeff Ruby’s, which is a regular spot for us. The food and cocktail quality is top notch. The service sucked however. I hate to nitpick but the bill for two of us was $640, we expect better for that type of spend. We wiped the table down between courses, as they certainly weren’t. We refilled our sparkling waters that never got fresh ice/lemon over the two hours except the initial pour. Frequently I waited 10-15min’s from an empty cocktail until the server came by and I had to ask versus being asked. Heres my summary, the food was amazing. The restaurant is very very loud. The service was subpar at best. Jeff Ruby’s is a lot better in my opinion, the service there over rides the better menu at Repeal.

Great steaks with a unique flavor from the oak barrels. The in house rolls are amazing. Keith was our server and was fantastic in making recommendations and steering us always from things he wasn’t a fan of. We recommend trying if in downtown Louisville.

Keith was an amazing server!! He recommended the best cocktails and ways to order delicious food. He was personable and kept us laughing throughout the night. I cannot wait to return!

Love this restaurant! It was the perfect way to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday. The food was delicious and overall service was great.

Had brunch at Repeal. After a wonderful stay at Distil, we had brunch before leaving town. Great food and great vibe. The service was outstanding. We commented how we should have made dinner reservations there, we’ll have to do that the next time we stay at Distil.

I always visit for dinner but decided to give it a chance at lunch. It was amazing and our server Tim was great. It was more on the quiet side not as busy like dinner. So if you are looking for something intimate during the daytime this is your place. 10/10 birthday well spent

Michael was a great attentive server and told stories when describing the meals. He has great knowledge on the menu and very professional. Food is phenomenal, steak is like butter!
