Repeal is Whiskey Row’s only oak-fired steakhouse, located at the birthplace of J.T.S. Brown & Sons Bourbon Company in Louisville. A stylish departure from a traditional steakhouse, Repeal uses a wood-fired grill stoked daily with reclaimed American Oak bourbon barrels. Repeal is a tribute to the Repeal of Prohibition – a place to see, be seen and celebrate the rich tradition of the building in which it resides.

Now serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch.

Fantastic place to have an Anniversary dinner. Very friendly and attentive staff. Food was excellent! The cocktail sauce has a good kick to it, highly recommend.

Second visit to Repeal, but also the last. We had a fantastic experience last year and decided to celebrate my wife's birthday this year. We were very excited to return because we really can't afford to eat here often, but it fit well for a special celebration. Meet, greet, service, and all of the things you would expect at this level were all incredible. It was the food that had greatly changed in just a short period of time. It felt like budget cuts were in effect and the food was the only thing that was compromised. We both ordered the aged ribeye and had to request sharper knives to be able to cut through it. On the 3rd set of knives, they pulled out some serrated blades that they no longer use and we were able to work with those. My wife only ate half of her steak just because she grew tired of sawing away at it. The side dishes were just as negatively impacted as the quality of the steak. We ordered the "Restaurant Style" asparagus which would indicate to most that we would get the larger stalk asparagus. Repeal gave us true "Restaurant Style" asparagus, but strategically placed it over a pile of skinny, withered asparagus as if nobody would notice. Finally, the "Billionaire" potato has shrunk to the size that I would recommend renaming it to the "Millionaire" potato. This side could have been a meal by itself at our last visit, but this has been replaced with a much smaller version. Again, ambiance, personnel, and all things considered, Repeal is one of the best for their operational staff. However, for a $300 bill, I would prefer 4 trips to a chain restaurant in the place of 1 trip to Repeal. I hate to say it, but something has gone very far south with the food quality at Repeal.

This was an outstanding experience! Please ask for Micheal. He helped make our first time there very special. Manager Henry was attentive and checked in on us regularly. The chefs are outstanding! We were celebrating a birthday and we highly recommend the bread pudding.
