Rene at Tlaquepaque
René at Tlaquepaque crafts rustic, contemporary French cuisine in its elegant restaurant located in the Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts village in Sedona. Delightful appetizer options, which make the perfect starter to your dining adventure, include the creamy sauté brie garnished with fresh fruit and the roasted cauliflower in a caper pine nut sauce. René’s specialty house entrees include the acclaimed Colorado rack of lamb a la René carved tableside, the mushroom studel with feta and provolone cheeses wrapped in puff pastry, and the roasted duck with mushroom cake in sun-dried cherry sauce. The tableside flambéed crepes suzette, bananas foster or cherries jubilee is the ideal dessert for couples.
René at Tlaquepaque is a true dining destination. It also has a wine bar, so be sure to have your meal choice paired with the perfect house wine.

Six ounces of tender, sweet sea scallops seared to perfection, served over a prickly-pear beurre rouge. Wine Pairing: ½ Sancerre Pascal Jolivet
The restaurant has a beautiful courtyard and nice ambiance inside. Our waitress was very accommodating and excellent at her job. Wonderful food and great drinks.
The food was good but not great. None of it was really warm enough. I’m fine with paying more for great food and a great experience, but the food and ambiance in this case simply fell too far short of the price point.
Our server Tony was incredible! We will come back just for him!
We had a very enjoyable experience at René's (once we found it amongst the labyrinth of shops). Everything on the menu all looked terrific and our server made some great suggestions to help us narrow down our choices. We had the filet with béarnaise, which was tender and perfectly medium rare as ordered, though it was a bit light on taste, and also the mushroom streudel, which had very nice-sized portions and was bursting with flavor. We started off with two yummy prickly pear cocktails - a mule and a margarita, and had wine with our entrees. The local wine blend was good, and its always fun to taste local wines, whereas the zin from Napa was really nice. Two entrees and 4 drinks set us back almost $200 with tip, so its not cheap, but the ambiance, quality, and flavor contributed to a very nice upscale dining experience.
Came here for my girlfriends birthday on our vacation, and was very pleased with the experience! The food was very good! The waiters were very good about keeping our waters full! Very kind staff! Wasn’t a huge fan of the carrots, but everything else was amazing! I would definitely recommend this place to someone, and would come back myself!
Good was delicious and server answered all our questions. Very knowledgeable of ingredients and how items were made. Yum yum I’m
Well spaced tables. An excellent respite from the usual noise of Sedona restaurants. A more “continental” cuisine that was excellent in preparation and service. Pleasant and helpful staff. A true delight! It will be on our regular rotation from now on.
Anthony was a great server. They welcomed us for my wife’s bday with rose petals On the table and a sweet treat at the end of the meal! Table side lamb was they way to go for sure!
The service was super slow. People that sat down after us got their food faster paid their bill faster and left before us. The brie cheese was disappointing. It was tiny and not really that inviting They were out of most vegetables that night so we had no choice but to eat carrots. Additionally, the seared tuna salad was just OK for a $30 salad. Overall I would not go back there again.
Birthday, while everything was delicious it’s the most we’ve ever paid for dinner.
Consistently great food. Not cheap ,but worth it. You are never rushed, waiters are attentive.Good wine selections. One of the best restaurants in Sedona
Always love and remember the French Onion soup to Die for. The Crepe Suzettesprepared by Joshua was devine.
From Cody the bartender to the hostess and servers this was a wonderful evening with wonderful food. It’s a little Sedona gem and we will be back ‘
I'm a local and this is consistently one of the best restaurants in Sedona. It is a bit more expensive than other restaurants but without the hype and faux trendiness. The food is cooked to order with servers determining available options (ie: whether the dish can be prepared GF). out question. Decent wine list by the glass (better by the bottle). All servers are professional and have a good demeanor. Walter is a wonderful chef so visit soon and try out his offerings, particularly the scallops or halibut. And save room for dessert- flourless chocolate torte, perhaps?
As always Renes was lovely, great food, lovely ambiance, relaxed setting. The only small issue was the short staffing situation happening everywhere. The folks that were there were lovely and hustling, but an almost full restaurant was difficult for them to keep up with.
My wife’s birthday. We were here 5 years ago. We enjoyed it so much we wanted to come back. Everyone was professional and helpful. Again it was a wonderful experience.
The food is always good. The service is always great. We have never had a bad experience at renes. Everytime we come to sedona we always make sure to make reservations to eat there. It's one of our favorite places to eat.
Excelente comida y servicio, El pato y las costillas de cordero espectaculares, felicidades
Wonderful experience. Had the antelope.
Service was just okay, food was cold. Not going back
We loved our dinner at Rene’s! The food was fabulous, the staff were outstanding, and the surroundings were quaint and personal. We got the duck, portabella steak, filet mignon and chicken piccata and everyone loved their meal! Highly recommend!
Food and atmosphere great. Service is awesome.
We were in Sedona a few years ago and ate at Rene. It was fantastic so when I planned our trip this year Rene was the first reservation I made.
It was wonderful. Just as great as we remembered. The manager Toby was so nice and welcoming. Made sure we had a great experience. Our waiter Myles was fantastic. The food was delicious! Escargot and the Duck are our favorites. The homemade rolls were so good. Warm and crunchy on the outside soft and delicious on the inside. Wow they really are so good!Honestly everything we ordered was delicious! The desserts did not disappoint. We ordered the crème brûlée and the layered chocolate cake. YUM!
Rene is a must when visiting Sedona. We look forward to dining here again next trip.
Everything about Rene”s made our special occasion even more special. The location within the plaza with plenty of parking, our welcoming corner table with rose petals (we were celebrating a birthday & anniversary) our waiter Anthony was fabulous, friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable, and so efficient. The menu made it hard to choose, there were so many delicious choices. We went with the escargot (our first time, it was 10 stars) the lobster stuffed mushrooms, hummus and pear salad. Everything was delicious!
Mains included duck, scallops, pork chop and chicken piccata, everything tasted fresh, local, perfectly seasoned and cooked. Each one of us were delighted with our choices.
Desserts were on fire, well the banana foster flambé was (assembled tableside) and it was scrumptious served with delicious home made vanilla ice cream, the flourless chocolate torte, vanilla crème brûlée, chocolate cake (frosting yum!) and panna cotta were a perfect ending (and espresso drinks).
Everything was fabulous. Rene’s has become our new favorite restaurant, thank you Anthony and Rene’s for a very special memorable night.
Vacationing in Sedona
Rack of lamb was very good ( according to my husband), not the best, but good. Drinks were very good, unfortunately my fish ( pan seared halibut- special for the evening , was very dry and frankly tasteless… The best was hostess Toby. She was very friendly and gracious!
We visited this restaurant on Christmas for the special dinner. We had the appetizer and soup. Four of us had different dishes - lamb, ducks, scallops and steak. All amazing. Topped off with the delicious flambé cherry jubilee made by the table. Service was top notch. Food was sumptuous. It was just wonderful.
Christmas Night dinner. Lobster salad is out of this world. Enjoyed the arugula salad as well. We were disappointed that four days later still no Antelope. We make an annual journey to Rene’s for the Antelope. Guess we will need to wait another year.
Food, service and ambiance are really great. Would recommend this place to anyone.
Beautiful Christmas dinner with family. Wonderful food and a special holiday drink for our matriarch. Anthony is one of the best waiters we have ever had. Thank you for an awesome experience.
We arrived for dinner on Christmas Day and we’re seated promptly. Our entire meal, from appetizer course through the main entree to dessert was absolutely delicious! Meat was extremely tender and very flavorful. The highlight was crepe Suzette flambé made table side…absolute perfection! This was a Christmas dinner we will not soon forget…thank you to all the staff who worked on Christmas Day!
Fish was over cooked
Wonderful evening…our server “Molly” was delightful.
Food was delicious, Tony and Toby awesome!
We have been here several times and just love Rene’s! Unfortunately they were out of antelope but we will be back!
service, atmosphere , and food were all perfect. we will make this a regular visit each year when we return.
Food is average, but service was good and attentive without being overbearing. Found it overpriced for quality of food.
Rene’s was a special evening. The waiter, Jeshua, listened to us and gave great suggestions that fit our tastes perfectly. My French onion soup was everything a French onion soup should be - yummy. The pear salad was great!! Our entrees were perfection. The desserts were good but not amazing. It was a wonderful place to wrap up our Sedona vacation.
Fabulous food and great service. That’s what you can expect from Rene's.
