It's not the same restaurant that it was last year when we dined there. The room is dated, tablecloths are gone, and the French dining experience is gone as well. The menu has been diluted and many of our favorite items were gone too. The chef now owns many restaurants in Sedona, and I feel that his attention is split in too many directions. Our steak tartare showed poor knife cuts but, it was tasty. My dry aged rib eye steak was not worth the exorbitant price, my haricot vert were cold. My husband's steak was ok. Our server was excellent and made us feel welcomed. With so many options in Sedona for dining, we will probably choose somewhere else next time.

We had the special for the evening which was sea bass wrapped in prosciutto and topped with two shrimp. Green beans and mashed potatoes. The sea bass was delicious .. my husband like the prosciutto wrap; I did not. Green beans were too salty. The old saying "If you have to ask the price you probably can't afford it." Well, we didn't ask and it was expensive .. $78 each. In hindsight I would have ordered the 'regular' sea bass from the menu, not the evening special. The highlight was a WONDERFUL beet salad that was perhaps the best we've ever had .. pecans, strawberries, blue berries, apple, greens, of course beets, with a light balsamic dressing. Superb. We've been visiting Rene Restaurant at Tlaquepaque for years .. at least 15, and it's special to us. But as we get older, fixed income, we found it more expensive than we anticipated. Still love Rene's but don't know if we'll return should be be in Sedona again.

Outdoor dining (6:30pm). Ambiance excellent.. Service (sorry, I forgot her name ?) She was great. Not too fast and not too slow. The petite fillet with cream spinach was delicious. My wife got salmon baked in paper and asparagus. The server came out and cut the paper and served our dinners ... A nice touch. All in all ... Our dinner experience was great!

Our dinner was fantastic. We had the chicken and filet, soufflé, and bread service. I dream about the potatoes au gratin. Fully recommend when you’re in the area! The service is wonderful and the food is even better.
