Outstanding ! After our wedding ceremony, wife and I , along with her son went to Rene to celebrate. Our waiter , Josh, was so friendly and attentive. His recommendations were spot on! Baked onion soup and ahi for an appetizer to start. I had the antelope dish, my wife had chicken piccata and her son had duck. We all had a delicious meal capped off with carrot cake for dessert . Thank you so much for making our evening special !
Everything was done to perfection, our waiter , Josh was was one the best waiter we ever had food and ambience was great . We will be back.
Excellent service. The duck was truly exceptionally good.
The food was Devine…! We are 3 appetizers and the scallops it’s hard to find servers any where so service was a little slow, but the staff was incredible. Highly recommend!
The service at the restaurant was excellent. The ambiance was very nice, one area was like a casual bistro and the other was more elegant. The food was good, but not very flavorful and was a bit disappointing compared to the descriptions. We each had a pear and blue cheese salad, and we had the stuffed acorn squash and the mushroom strudel. We were told the carrot cake was baked that day and it was good, but the frosting was a bit too sweet. We probably won't go back, as we had better meals at the other area restaurants we visited.
Very nice and quiet.
Best rack of lamb anywhere. Along with everything else.
The food has no taste, seems like they forgot to put salt in any of the dishes!
Food was great. Tony our server was great. Definitely recommend.
Excellent food and very attentive service. Spinach and mushroom salad was great.
Food and Ambience fantastic! The escargot and chicken piccata delicious. The portions are on the smaller side so I recommend ordering appetizer, second course, entree and of course dessert!
We had brunch and were there at 11:30 a.m. We were seated right away at a table tucked away in a corner with a nice window view.
Our server was very knowledgeable (we were asking about the drinks), courteous and genuinely attentive.
THE FOOD: Of course we had the escargots which were immersed in a lovely sauce of garlic and butter with herbs. It came along with thinly sliced French bread with just the right crunch.
I ordered the eggs benedict. Overall, the food was fantastic. It was so delicious we reserved dinner at Rene's the next evening. Highly recommended while at Sedona.
And, the ambience was wonderful - this restaurant is at the Tlaquepaque square which has unique shops. It reminded me of Europe and Mexico. A must visit.
The restaurant wasn’t open when we arrived, due to staffing issues.
Wonderful experience. Charming, excellent service and food.
I can't say enough good things... food and dessert was wonderful, great wine list, superb Service and beautiful atmosphere. Make sure you have the escargot.
Excellent food and service. Would definitely return.
We were there to celebrate a 60th birthday. Tony was our waiter and was very pushy on most expensive items on menu. Took a while to even get our drink order in. He then assumed we wanted a bottle of wine rather than 2 glasses of wine. We sent bottle back and his rolling of eyes and noises of disgust was too much! He then offered to take pictures of us after receiving our meal. In the middle of taking pictures he sets phone down and said he’d be back. We waited to eat since we wanted that in pictures and here he comes carrying another tables food. After dinner he proceeded to hand the bill to birthday lady. It was a very special event and Tony was a disappointment with his service and facial expressions. Won’t recommend to anyone since service was terrible and food was just ok. Extremely disappointing for a $240 bill.
Delicious meal with friendly and knowledgeable staff! Excellent food and wine suggestions were spot-on
Had been here once before over a decade ago, the mushroom strudel was just as good as I remembered. Escargot also fabulous
Restaurant is in a nice Spanish style village. Ambiance of restaurant was not worth the high cost of food. Service was lacking, waiter was not very friendly or attentive to our needs. Bathrooms were unappealing. Food was average. It lacked presentation, especially for the high cost. The wine was good. My main course was switched out as the roasted mahi was poached instead of roasted and lacked colour and flavor. Seared scallops were better. All in all, it was not the quality we anticipated after reading glorified internet information. For these reasons, we will not be back.
Fantastic food and service. We followed some of the recommendations of the server, mushroom appetizer and halibut fresh catch of the day. I had the pork chop which was cooked wonderfully. Also had Caprese salad and Beet goat cheese salad. Glasses of wine to pair with our meals. We arrived early for our reservation and they were able to seat us but the restuarant was full during our meal.
Service was great! Scallops were excellent. Pear salad was excellent. Carrot cake was very good. Mahi mahi was tasteless and disappointing.
Beautiful restaurant, great service and perfectly prepared food. Best I’ve had in many years.
Loved the escargot, lamb and Cabernet. My husband loved the gazpacho and filet!
The entrees were very much sub par, bland, and unseasoned. I ordered the seared scallops and more then one had multiple grains of sand. The sauce for the scallops had some flavor but nothing exciting. They arrived to the table not hot enough. The steamed veggies and wild rice that came with our entrees were bland and not seasoned properly. We had to reach for the salt and pepper frequently. My boyfriend ordered the mahi mahi with some sort of pineapple salsa on top. The fish was so bland/tough and somehow they made pineapple taste horrible. We sent the fish back and got the chicken piccata. This dish came with pasta which tasted like nothing (likely did not salt the water). And the piccata sauce was not great. The chicken was somewhat better than the mahi mahi but not by much, only had a few bites. It was not prepared how I usually thought chicken piccata should be (not dredged in flour, not pounded thin). We skipped out on dessert altogether. The bottle of wine we had (a Sancerre) was the only good thing we had! Appetizers were ok but seemed phoned in. The bread in the french onion soup was tough/stale. The pear and bleu cheese salad was ok but lacked enough dressing and/or flavor. I think we heard from a far that the main chef was out for 2 months. Glad we did not go for the lamb which was way overpriced - might have been good but not worth the risk given our experience with 3 different entrees. Needless to say we were surprised by how horrible the food was given the level of reviews. This has caused us to not trust open table reviews as much anymore.
It was soooo good
The restaurant decorations inside and out made it so romantic.
The food was delicious and tasted amazing
Everything was perfect. Especially food and atmosphere were the most.
Amazing all around!!
The service, food and ambience was excellent. Great presentation.
With high hopes we booked this restaurant and were sadly disappointed. From the poor service to the subpar food, it was not a memorable dinner. My husband ordered the Dover Sole, which was supposed to be pan fried, which it was not. It was rubbery and bland mixed with uncooked green beans with stems and 90 second style rice, this $50+ dish was atrocious. I ordered the chicken piccata which presented itself microwaved and tasteless. Our server, who was abrupt, decided we didn’t need any of the starter bread until we asked if it was offered when we saw every other table have it. We also waited 1 hour for our dinner to arrive, which we ordered immediately upon sitting down during our drink order. Oh and don’t let me forget the gazpacho soup…an old can of diced tomatoes, water and all, with some celery thrown in. SAVE YOURSELF THE MONEY. Go somewhere else.
The food and service were excellent
Great intimate and beautiful place. Eat outdoors of possible.
Nice Sedona dinner.
Escargot Lobster Salad and rack of lamb.
Good Service too!
Great place for a nice relaxing dinner. The rack
of lamb is their specialty and it was amazing. The antelope was very good and cooked to perfection. The service was great and attentive.
Quick attentive service
Amazing place to celebrate our wedding anniversary! Staff was amazing Tony was the best waiter we have ever had! They made our special night even more special!
Beautiful setting on the patio. The food was delicious and the service excellent.
Rene is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. I visit Sedona yearly and eat there at least two of the four days that I stay. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious food, great service, and a great atmosphere!
Bland overpriced food & unimpressive service.
Excellent service, wonderful Escargot, overcooked Duck, Dover Sole not as good as it was in previous visits, not as delicate.
