Rene at Tlaquepaque
René at Tlaquepaque crafts rustic, contemporary French cuisine in its elegant restaurant located in the Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts village in Sedona. Delightful appetizer options, which make the perfect starter to your dining adventure, include the creamy sauté brie garnished with fresh fruit and the roasted cauliflower in a caper pine nut sauce. René’s specialty house entrees include the acclaimed Colorado rack of lamb a la René carved tableside, the mushroom studel with feta and provolone cheeses wrapped in puff pastry, and the roasted duck with mushroom cake in sun-dried cherry sauce. The tableside flambéed crepes suzette, bananas foster or cherries jubilee is the ideal dessert for couples.
René at Tlaquepaque is a true dining destination. It also has a wine bar, so be sure to have your meal choice paired with the perfect house wine.
Start to finish, great meal/experience
Everything was wonderful ... the ambiance, antelope carpaccio, rack of lamb, bananas foster, Barolo and espresso.
wonderful food with classical French influence - beautifully presented
We arrived 10 minutes early and since our table was not ready we told the hostess we would wait at the bar. The barman ignored us completely whilst washing glasses and filling orders. Fortunately after 10 minutes our table was ready. The restaurant has a cozy, warm ambiance which would have been even better had there been some French music playing in the background. First there was no music and then after about 30 minutes some classic rock music was played..obla di obla da being one I remember. It's a song I like but not in the calm, romantic, French restaurant. Service was prompt but not particularly involved. Our appetizers of crab cake and sauteed brie were fine. Our mains of Dover Sole and Portobello Mushrooms with Spaghetti Squash were perfect. Full of flavor, just delicious. Missing is some more attentive/personal interaction with server and nice music. Would recommend for the food alone.
Waiter was a good salesman, but the kitchen couldn’t deliver. Extremely slow service. Skip the antelope. Overall mediocre.
Not cheap, but always good, sometimes outstanding. One of the very best in Sedona. Great wine list including some local wines at modest cost.
Dia de Los Muertos at Rene’s was fabulous!!! Loved it all!! Top notch all the way around!! ❤️❤️
As usual, my experience at Rene's was superlative. The food was exceptional and the waitstaff made sure everything was served at the perfect time without hovering. We had two of the chef's specials - I had rack of lamb and my husband had antelope (neither of us had ever had this). We can't say enough about our evening there and would recommend it to anyone wanting fine dining.
Great food and service. Michael was a pro! Decor is a little dated. Music was just bad. 80’s rock just did not the right mood.
Food, service and ambiance were all spot on and made for a delightful evening.
Went for mom's 79th birthday and everything was wonderful. Reservations were a snap online. My aunt and I split a Monty Cristo, the very best Cristo I've had and I look everywhere for them. My mom had the short rib gyro, she tore it apart and ate all of it. It was too big to eat like a taco for her. My sister had the chicken croissant and said it was delish, but wasn't thrilled about having to construct the deconstructed sandwich. The prices are comparable to any sit down place, but the location of Rene's is the best. Total bill for 3 entrees, 3 sodas, and 4 desserts $85 without tip. I have always loved Rene's and still do.
Very nice atmosphere and very quiet. We ordered the lamb and portabello bolongese. The lamb was great but the bolongese was average. Overall, a nice experience.
We always done at Rene's whenever we are visiting Sedona. It's fabulous!
Wonderful food. Wonderful experience.
Loved the antelope! Service was great. Ambiance beautiful. Highly recommend.
We enjoyed a late lunch. The food was prepared perfectly.
We visit Rene’s each year on our one week vacation to Sedona. The dishes are fabulous and the service is always excellent. We thoroughly enjoy being treated with such luxury.
Fantastic meal and service!
We loved it! Although it’s a more elegant place, the service wasn’t stuffy. The escargot was very good. The salads and soups are fabulous. The filet mignon is excellent. The portions aren’t big but adequate. The prices are comparable with the quality. There are some tables outside and a nice dining room inside with a tiny bar. We’ll go back again.
Delicious gazpacho. Service staff very attentive.
This is my favorite restaurant in Sedona, I come here every year and I plan on continuing to enjoy my time at Renee’s
Food and service were both wonderful.
Went for our anniversary. Put that in the reservation yet they missed it. Lots of other anniversaries around us. Food was good but overpriced. We lost our server for a very long time he said he had to prepare cherries jubilee for another table (poor excuse for our lack of service)
The food was adequate but not great for the price point, including duck that tasted dry and bland vegetables. Our server was pleasant but seemed extremely inexperienced and knew little about the menu. Bread was served as we were finishing our salads. After the main course was served, server was nowhere to be found for the next 30 minutes, preventing me from reordering drinks or asking a question about ingredients. We tried to get the attention of the other server, also without success. Overall, a fairly unpleasant dinner.
Reservation online was very easy. We were seated on time. Waiter ( Tony ) is the best ! appetizer, dinner and desert all top quality. Excellent wine list and it was broken down into many serving options, we really liked that. This was the third or fourth time we have dined here, always consistent !! Thank You.
Lovely evening! And we could have our dog with us patio!
Overall great experience and food. Just need a better lunch menu.
We had a very special meal at Rene's. Our waiter was exceptionally attentive to our needs. The entree's were cooked to perfection. It is among our favorite restaurants in the country.
We love Rene Rest. Since the first time we dine in it, several years ago and any time we in Sedona go and have dinner there, the quality of food taste and wine are awesome..
Specialty of house is rack of lamb. Excellent (and expensive). Service is fine but not extraordinary.
Excellent baked onion soup!! Piccata good great wine..
Server was very sweet and attentive
Mooie locatie in een prachtig pittoresk wijkje van Sedona. Goede kaart en mooie wijnen. De kwaliteit van het eten is erg goed maar de prijs is iets te hoog voor wat je krijgt. Lekker gegeten.
Great service. Micheal provided just the right amount of contact and information to provide a superb night. The food, Dover Sole and Filet were done perfectly. Really enjoyed the night
What a romantic evening we had at Rene’a. Signed in the courtyard with the twinkle lights and lovel weather. My husband had the Dover sole and I had the amazing duck. They serve bananas foster, cherries jubilee and crepes Suzette but we were too full to have dessert. Can’t wait to come back.
A wonderful “special occasion” restaurant, with amazing adult beverages. The food is cooked to perfection and the wait staff is available at a moments notice.
We had a fabulous dinner on the patio here on a recent Friday night. Aside from a table with a very loud talker, the evening was fabulous. Of course the loud talker was no one's fault! My husband and I had the rack of lamb, was very, very good. I wouldn't say it was the best I ever had, but it was a huge portion and was cooked medium rare as requested. Our son had the duck and said it was incredible. Wonderful service from beginning to end and a great outdoor patio!
Awesome as usual
Elegant setting in a resort town. Menu has not changed in over five years. Prices have gone up significantly over time. Food was well prepared and very tasty. Extensive wine selection, but limited inventory. As a local, I would like to dine here more frequently, but pricing is a deterrent.
Food and service were great. The ambiance was serene and quiet. We want to go back for the dinner selections soon.
