Five star service and great food. The tea was excellent, and the bottomless champagne was decadent. The only bad thing was that you can enter the hotel from one side of the court, and the elevators are on the other side, so there’s heavy traffic and a lot of noise.

Traditional afternoon tea in a gorgeous setting with live piano music, flowing bubbles, lovely tea selection, and friendly, generous, attentive service. The tea was brewed properly (with loose tea in the teapot, unlike a recent Afternoon Tea at The Plaza NY--very disappointing!) and was accompanied by lemon curd and clotted cream, as it should be. Scones, finger sandwiches and sweets all done VERY well, too. Best part was the lovely staff. Perfect setting for treats and catching up. They will be seeing a lot of me.

Very good overall experience with the ambiance and pianist, but the tea selection was poor and not appropriately brewed.

This is a lovely location for a special occasion tea. I came here with my family after shopping for my daughter's wedding dress in downtown LA. Unlike many other high end tea locations I researched for this outing, the Biltmore's included prosecco along with the tea at no extra charge. They were also very accommodating of dietary restrictions in our party which included working around a nut allergy & a vegetarian. I highly recommend this afternoon treat when you have something special to celebrate or just to pamper yourself!

Terrible service. The tea sandwiches were bland. No flavor. Even the chocolate was awful.

Location was lovely in the Rendezvous Court! A pianist played and the atmosphere was perfect! The cost was a bit high- but expected. I wish there was a non-alcoholic menu and price- which is standard at most Afternoon Tea locations. Service was excellent but at $65 per person I expected a bit more. For example, there weren't tongs for the sugar cube container and the actual tea flavor was a little boring. Plus, it would have been nice to have been talked through the menu. Hearing the descriptions of what to expect is part of the fun! Tiny things- but the details were missing. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our time!

If you want to experience an earlier age of elegance & savor a traditional tea, the Biltmore Holiday Tea is the place to go. While in the Rendezvous Court, you can leisurely sip from a flute of prosecco while waiting for your three tiers of tea sandwiches, scones and desserts to arrive. Enjoy the piano music as you visually explore the ornate ceiling in the room.
We found the leisurely pace of the meal to be a break in the frantic holiday season. The food was good, the service a bit slow but this is the kind of meal meant to be slowly savored and enjoyed. We enjoyed getting dressed up for the tea and the other guests must have felt the same way.
The price is high but you are paying for the ambiance and the experience as well as the food. To us it is well worth it. This is our third Biltmore Holiday Tea and I am sure will enjoy it again another year.

This was the first disappointing experience at your tea. It was a 2:45 PM seating and I was told that certain items had already run out. I noticed there were items missing and had I not brought it to the waiters attention, we would not have received tea for four. Initially the waiter actually attempted to argue with me until she acknowledged that I was right. The missing items were replaced with "substitutes", but one of the courses was never served.
I have been bringing friends to the Biltmore for tea for years. I will think twice before I do so again.

Food was good, service was bad. We had a table of 6 and one of the desserts they only brought 3 of. We had to go track wait staff down for service.

Wonderful afternoon tea! Beautiful setting, delicious homemade sandwiches and scones. Everything super fresh. Very generous with the Prosecco. A pianist at the grand piano completed the lovely afternoon.

I took two 12 year old girls here for their first high tea, and they loved it! To be clear, these are not girly girls - but the glamour and history and presentation was so special. We're going to make this a regular event!

I have been to many high teas in Los Angeles and was shocked that my guest and I shared one tower of sweets and sandwiches for $65 each. Every other High tea i've done in Los Angeles ( The Penninsula, The Huntington) each guest gets their own tower of food for a comparable price. The selection of teas is slim , and the staff didn't seem too flexible on substitutions for the sandwiches. The room is beautiful and the staff was very friendly but I don't plan on visiting again when there are better high tea options in LA.

This is a good, one time experience in a historical venue. A few items of note: 1) If you don't want champagne, they offer sparkling apple juice as an alternative. 2) Each person receives one pot of tea for the entire tea time and no tea cozy is provided so your tea will be cool after 1 hour or so. The tea ball is left in the pot so expect a strong pot of tea as you near the end of the service. 3) While the tea service is from 2PM to 5PM, you are not expected to take that long (and your tea will be cold long before then!). We took approx 1 hour 45 minutes with leisurely conversation and it was plenty of time. 4) The venue is quite loud since its in the middle of Rendezvous Court-the pianist helped make the setting seem more intimate. 5) Some of the seating is low couches and larger chairs - if you have a hard time sitting down, you may want to specify a table with chairs and no couches.

The hotel is lovely. The service wonderful. The food was just okay. It would also have been nice to chose from some upgrade options such as additional sandwiches, desserts or soup and salad.

Even after calling to confirm our reservation 2-3 weeks in advance, when we got to there, they had lost our reservation. We waited for a new table to be made up on the outside of the nice middle area against a wall that wasn't very fancy. We then had very slow and mediocre service, especially when considering that tea for 2 came out to $160 with tip. There was little to no explanation for things, everything was really slow (we didn't get our tea until after 1 hour), and the food provided was 4 really small savory bites with the rest being very good, but very rich desserts. The only plus was they treated us to even more sweets at the end for our anniversary, but it was too over the top sweet at this point. They also never came to check if we needed anything else at any point or if we needed any refills on tea. This was disappointing since two of the 4 of us ordered the same tea, but were given only one pot to share, which for charing $65 each is not a good sign if you aren't going to check on us. The only other bright spot was that the tea was really good, but other than that, definitely not worth it when compared to the level of service and thoughtfulness at other teas.

We went for my daughter's 24th Birthday. There were 4 of us. High Tea has been a tradition I have done with my daughters since they were 3. Its something very special to us. First of all, I had the struggle of finding a location from Santa Barbara to Los Angeles on a Sunday. Most places turn their High Tea to Brunch.
The Biltmore was the only one that had an opening at the time we wanted. I should have known that was a red flag.
Once we were seated, one server came up and poured the prosecco. The next server came out and took our tea order... She couldn't speak english and wasn't really answering our questions.. She then brought us the tiniest 3 tiered display (just 1 for all 4) with a total of 6 -8 of the smallest finger sandwiches and pastries I have ever seen. 2 of them were the size of a quarter. once we finished those, they took away the plates. We were waiting for them to come back.....They never replenished them. Most other places we've been either give you an abundance of items or replenish. but certainly not 1 tiny presentation for 4 people.
At 65.00 per person let's just say... 5.00 for the tea and 7.50 a bite. I don't mind paying the price but the value was totally inadequate. Also when i gave her my CC to pay the bill she came back loudly and said your card had been declined. I then gave her another form and it was fine... when I came home found that no transmission went through so I clearly think she didn't know what she was doing... and the way it was handled was totally unprofessional. When I didn't tip her for all of that... she came running after me and said you didnt fill "that part" out...
Really???

Lovely atmosphere and great service. Free flowing champagne and yummy bites. But at $65 per person, you might as well go get a steak dinner.

Our initial server wasn't very responsive but another server stepped up to cover where she was lagging. The manager also went out of his way to make us feel appreciated. The food was really good, but I wish there were more sandwiches and less sweets. The desserts were all delicious but it felt like too many desserts and not enough sandwiches. Especially since the sandwiches were so good.

If you are going for the ambiance of the Biltmore Hotel, that is indeed enjoyable. But if you are someone who enjoys afternoon tea and has consumed good ones, you will be disappointed. It's not just that it doesn't meet up with British expectations, it's that compared to many decent afternoon teas in the US it is stingy. The tea is weak and they don't bring more or allow you to steep it yourself. The choices of the actual tea are quite limited. The food is neither especially creative nor tasty nor plentiful. It hovers at the acceptable level. It mostly reminded me of the quality of medium-level cruise ship cafeteria food. The room is nice but tea aficionados will not be impressed by anything else.

For an LA traditional tea at the holidays, I would call this an overall meh experience (at best) one that I would run out and do again. The food was just ok, tea menu extremely limited, and the restaurant was disarray when we arrived as they were not ready for tea service.

The service was great, loved the bottomless Prosecco, only thing that was a little off were the cake pops in the pastry offerring... we did not have littles with us, though I am sure kids would enjoy these, overall really easy to get there on the Expo line great service, nice live Pianist, we did not feel rushed. Loved it!
