   2 out-of-towners enjoyed a great meal. Excellent service from Valentine and Robert the bartender was the best. A hit and neighborhood gem!

   I support all business that’s black owned, the food was great. The menu I saw from photos online was slightly different in restaurant (price increase). I should’ve taken a photo to give others a heads up. All in all , it was a nice experience. The male staff were great and very attentive , the female lead bartender could have been much more welcoming. My family enjoyed themselves and would return. I’ve been in the restaurant/bar industry for 10 years, I know phenomenal customer service, from when you enter an establishment, until the end. The men were great, the host was kind.. unfortunately I myself would not return anytime soon. African businesses need to unite with all other colored folks, whether they are from another country or from the United States, competition is unnecessary, we all are in the same fight for equality.

   Celebrated my daughter’s 21st Birthday by having brunch at Renaissance Harlem, and everything about our experience was worth it. Less than 25 minutes Uber from Manhattan, and conveniently located to Subway station, which was about a 10 minute walk. Staff was courtesy and very accommodating. Food was great! Ordered omelet which was delectable, so light and fluffy and my daughter ordered Steak, egg and potatoes which was just as good! Steak was cooked perfectly, and balanced with seasoning and butter. I would highly recommend anyone traveling to the area. FYI restaurant was very clean, which made it easy for us to enjoy the ambiance even more.

   We went on a Tuesday evening for an early dinner. Upon entering the outdoor area looked shabby, and needed to be swept. We almost left, but decided to try indoors. Much better. Service drinks and food were very good. They just need to work on the ambience.

   Was out for Mother’s day brunch. Very nice staff & while delightful, they seemed unprepared for the flow & volume of service. Unfortunately our food came out too quickly — 2 appetizers first then the final appetizer & then within a min or 2, all of our mains. The table was extremely crowded & prevented us from enjoying our meal as we felt forced to eat everything at once. Sadly, the food was also a little cold, either quite bland or a bit too salty. Happy to support neighborhood restaurants but not sure we would come back.

   I went for the second time. The food was delicious. Was having a Birthday celebration with friends. The crowd was warm and friendly- a great atmosphere. I had to wait longer for my meal and the waiter provided a complimentary beverage.

    great experience. we had a family birthday celebration and celebrated with their lunch. Prices are not cheap but everything was delicious and the service was amazing too! We are planning to get back again, no doubt!

    My friends and I came here for brunch to celebrate my husbands birthday. I heard about this place with such high reviews and I'm so glad we came. The food is amazing, the ambiance was great and whats better is its BLACK OWNED.

    Our first stop upon arriving in NYC from DC. We were meeting up with a friend and waiting outside the restaurant when one of the very kind and welcoming servers invited us to come in and wait inside. There are two parts to the restaurant: 1) the inside with lovely tables and seating giving vintage Jazz club vibes, playing classic R&B and hosting two lively tables of people laughing and having a great time! and 2) the outer rim of the restaurant that felt like an enclosed outside patio, but still close enough to hear the music and feel a part of what was happening on the inside. Since my daughter had not seen her friend in years and only had a couple of hours over dinner to connect, we decided to sit on the outside rim where it was a bit quieter. The server and all other staff were very attentive, kind and made sure we were well taken care of the entire visit. We ordered the escargot as an appetizer and it was absolutely delectable--just the right mix of garlic, butter and parsley with bread crumbs baked to a perfect crisp! Soooooo good!! I ordered the lovely seasoned Yassa w/rice (the dish of the day) my daughter ordered Mussels in a creamy garlic wine sauce that I could have sipped on like soup---just magnificent--with fries and her friend ordered the mac & cheese w/lobster moaning with every bite! We were in food heaven and literally could have eaten inside as we did not talk as we were all so busy indulging in all of the carefully crafted and well seasoned flavors of our dishes! Just absolute pure bliss! We ate every bite and did not leave room for dessert, which in hindsight, I regret we didn't order "to go" and eat later if the appetizers and entrees were any indication of just how good they would be! Rennaissance Harlem is our new favorite place to eat in Harlem and we will build a visit into all of our future NYC trip itineraries. It's a gem and we can't wait to come back!! Magnifique!!

    Visiting from Chicago, I wasn’t familiar with this place but decided to take a chance, and I’m glad I did! Great food, great service, great ambiance and music, this place exceeded my expectations. The food was so fresh and delicious, I forgot to take pictures!

    Sunday brunch with a friend. The exterior decor was not attractive and the interior was only slightly better. The food felt overpriced for what it was. I had a mushroom spinach and goat cheese crepe which came with a side salad for $19. The crepe It relied solely on the goat cheese for flavor. It felt lazy and unremarkable. I was full of regret. I came out on a cold rainy day for this? It was pretty quiet until a drunk patron started howling like a hyena and no staff bothered to ask her to hush despite every table in the restaurant looking like WTF. Bottomless brunch antics. The waiter came by twice and then didn’t for a long spell, which I loved. We weren’t needy so it was fine but if you’re high maintenance, you’ll probably be annoyed. Everything about the place was just “okay” . Wouldn’t suggest traveling for it. It’s like the place you go when you have no other options.

    Food was great and plentiful - French toast, crepe, chicken and waffles. The fruit salad was very fresh. We were early diners so service was a little haphazard but we enjoyed our meal.

    It was my first time in Harlem and I wanted brunch. This place did not disappoint. The energy, music, service and OMG the food/drinks were all top notch! I had the lobster hash and a Harlem Rising.

    I made reservations for a business meeting. The host was very helpful with putting tables together to ensure we had enough elbow room for writing and he made sure that we were comfortable. In addition my laptop was not fully charged and he assisted me in this area as well. This allowed us to focus on our task, the amazing ambiance, music, service, drinks and food seasoned to our liking. The location was easy to find. I would definitely recommend this eatery to others.

    I LOVE dining at Renassaince Harlem Restaurant!!! It's a very comfortable neighborhood restaurant, with an abundance of exquisite food and beverage choices. During this visit I began with their Ahi Tuna Tartare topped with avocado and delicate herbs. The Moules Curry Coconut with Frites was out of this world; and my dessert, Strawberry Crepe sent right to heaven! In addition to the excellent food, I always enjoy the personalized, friendly, and attentive service they provide. They make you feel as if you are dining in their home.

    Food was delicious and the staff very attentive and professional. Nice bar and seating area. The Management was very accommodating. I highly recommend the restaurant for date night and anniversary celebrations.

    The ambiance was beautiful and our server was great. She was extremely nice with a great attitude. I ordered the steak and eggs with home fries off of the appetizer menu. My home fries were over cooked, and were hard. The cheese eggs were good, but the steak had no flavor. My friend had the shrimp scampi and said it tasted bland so he had to add salt and pepper which he said only helped a little. Would go back, but would def order something else

    To keep it simple Renaissance is a VIBE! If you want a dinner out with some friends this is the place to go. Food was great , DJ had good tunes (was a little to loud at times ) and the service was great . We ordered the : Rack of lamb, branzino, seafood spaghetti, and mushroom ravioli. All tasted amazing . Would definitely dine here again.

    Food wasn’t good. Calamari wasn’t fully cooked. The shrimp tempura was only 2 pieces of shrimp and the rest was vegetables. Drinks were okay.

    Lovely people, willing and attentive service although somewhat overwhelmed by a busy evening. Food was great in theory but also suffered from an overly-busy evening. My lamb was very well done (not medium rare as requested), the potatoes gratin was cold, the chocolate mousse had been frozen and arrived cold, plus it was served with a fork which made it hard to eat. On the plus side, my grilled octopus starter was good and the live music was excellent.

    Went for the first time for lunch during restaurant week. The atmosphere is beautiful and peaceful. Amble seating both inside and outside in a fully enclosed area. The service is phenomenal. Very attentive, answered any questions you may have and accompanied my friend because of her allergies. The food was delicious, flavourful, and plenty. I found my entre of Fish to be a little salty, but I'm salt sensitive since contracting covid a year ago. So it may just be me, but just caution. Soft Afrobeat music played in the background at a comfortable level. So you both enjoy the music and carry on a conversation easily. Lots of variations on the standard menu that even a picky eater can find something to enjoy. Price is standard for a NYC restaurant, however the portions are plenty and you get your money worth. Definitely have plans to return.

    We had a wonderful experience. The staff in particular Valentine who served us was extremely friendly and attentive to our needs. The portion sizes were great- We had the seafood Risotto. Very very good. We also had the red snapper special which also garnered a very very good response from the two at our table who had it. Finally the spaghetti Bolognese was enjoyed but was a bit too spicey for our taste

    Visiting Manhattan with my family to celebrate my birthday, I carefully researched restaurants in or near Harlem. The Renaissance caught my eye. I was wary about chartering unfamiliar territory, choosing a place I'd never heard of, but decided to take a chance. Because I had to change the reservation twice, I wondered at the time if karma was telling me this would not be a good choice after all. In hindsight I now believe karma lead me there. The service was unmatched, I felt like a princess; the food was awesome, I ate like a queen; the ambience was eclectic and chic and the music was a perfect playlist blend to appease ages 9 to 62! I could not have chosen a better spot to celebrate this milestone birthday. Our host made menu suggestions that were dead on. The fish was fresh, the vegetables cooked to perfection and just enough flavoring to accentuate each plate. All of us ordered something different (red snapper, lamb, seafood spaghetti, mac and cheese, lobster ravioli) as well as desserts and no dish disappointed. We all have discerning palates and unanimously recommend this restaurant highly to anyone looking for a great place to eat. We will definitely come back again.

    Very good food and good service, but the brunch prices are ridiculous. 2 course meal (app + entree) for $50…no beverage included. Still can’t believe I paid $50 for a salad and French toast.
