Mediocre food and awkward service. Other restaurants in the “4 star” group were much better and with a lower price.
Great brunch and the $5 Bloody Marys were SO good!
loud and obnoxious drunks ruining the atmosphere for everyone.
Made a last minute decision for dinner. Saw that this restaurant was highly rated and gave it a shot. Enjoyed the fish of the day.
Dining options on this stretch of Michigan Avenue are mostly Corner Bakery and Starbucks type of eateries. Remington's resembles an up-scale restaurant without the upper level menu prices. The menu is down to earth, nothing exotic but tasty and high in quality. Seating is extremely comfortable and service is fast and friendly.
Great service, nice atmosphere,
variety of food options - all around quality choice.
A friend and I went there before a show at the Harris. We made a meal of appetizers mushroom toast, grilled artichokes, and shrimp each was delicious and the service was attentive without being hovering and we were out the door in time for the show. Overall a nice per-theater spot.
Great food, great service! First time during a visit to Chicago.
Service was excellent. Dining companion commented very favorably on his meal. Mine was just okay. Noise level and general atmosphere were both quite good. I would return - I think another choice from the menu would be better.
The crab cakes were less than stellar, but everything else was good. Love the deviled eggs here.
The turkey burger was so juicy and flavorful!
We really enjoyed it all. We will be back!
We ❤️ the crab cakes at The Remington. Great cocktails too. So glad this gem is in the area!
The food was cold and flavorless, as if it was frozen meat and reheated. A medium rare prime rib was prepared medium well. The grilled vegetables were completely flavorless.
Rochelle and I stopped after shopping after Christmas.
Turkey burger, melted cheese, grilled onions, tomatoes, with the hat off the bun. The french fries were cut thin and without salt, good eat’n .
Rochelle has a salad with salmon on top was ok ...Rochelle would order again. I think this was a kale salad.
We started with Guacamole and spinach dip with chips chips and chips.
The chips were just strong enough yet thin to hold without braking.
Make sure you taking a reward of your check. They deduction after they charge the tax.....
The manager on duty did not even understand the issue.
This soured the evening when trying to get the payment correct.
We just paid and left the place .....
New Years Eve.... very good food. Only complaint is the price of my 3 deviled eggs, $12. They were good, but $4 for half of an egg is pricey. Other than that, it was very good.
Had reservations and they were able to seat us right away. Once we got seated it took about 10-15 minutes to be acknowledged by anyone despite being right by the wait staff area. And then another 5 minutes after we were acknowledged to get service. The food was good but in my opinion not worth the price; I get you are on the Mag Mike but if you’re going to charge mag mile pricing then the food better be worth it.
We decided to give Remington's a try for NYE dinner, and while it was a decent atmosphere (minus the horrible booths where every time the people moved in the booth behind us it shook and bounced us in our seat to a VERY annoying level) and the waiter was attentive..the food could have been a lot better. My partner ordered her steak medium rare and it came out burnt and extremely well done and my fish while flaky and soft was so overtly salty it was almost unpalatable. The best part of the meal was the loaded baked potato, and I can literally get that anywhere in Chicago. I guess when your known as a steak / seafood house your expectations are much higher than they would normally be, and it just didn't meet them.
I wouldn't change a thing. Everything was just the was I was hoping it to be. Great job!!
Food and service was excellent!!
Great little spot for a date! Came here with my boyfriend on NYE and had a great dinner, we sat upfront at a high top that we could see millennium Park from the windows upfront and since it’s December we had a good view of the tree, my boyfriend got the filet and it was a little under cooked but they took it back right away and the manager brought it back and apologized but it was an amazing steak. I had the Louis salad which was very good as well. We will return!
New Years Eve!!! Great time great food!
The food and location was good. I enjoyed the atmosphere and my partner described it as a "lovely dinner". Our waiter was very attentive and kind. My only problems with it were that first, the music did not go with the atmosphere (pop music from 2010), and second, it was a very expensive location. The food was good, but not so good to merit $50 for a meal that didn't quite fill you up all the way. All in all, if you are looking for a more upscale, maybe even a little snobby location and have got money to spare, then this is a great place to go. Otherwise, I would try somewhere else.
Thanks so much to the whole team at Remington’s for making my Dad’s birthday celebration special.
My wife and I shared about 6 different seafood appetizers and they were all out of this world! Highly recommend the smoked trout dip!!
Found a strand of hair in my eggs and was served latte that was lukewarm & to top it off our waitress messed up the order! So all in all wasn’t a great experience but it could’ve been a one-off experience!
The restaurant was recommended by a friend who said it's one of his favorites in the area. We thought it was classy yet relaxed and fun, beautiful, unique, romantic, warm and cozy and the perfect place for us to dine and celebrate our anniversary. The service was excellent in every way. The food was so delicious! We really enjoyed our 1st time visit and will definitely be back.
I went there for dinner with my family. We all liked our meals. My son had the short ribs and they were fork tender. I had the pork chop and it was cooked perfectly and was moist and flavorful. My wife had the crab cakes and said they were some of the best she's had. We thought the mashed potatoes were mediocre but my brussels sprouts were fantastic.
Great vegetarian burger; loved the walnuts in it for the crunch. Also, best chocolate chip cookie.
All good except for the noise level at the table near the front next to the bar.
We picked Remington’s last minute off of open table for their menu and just WOW. The wine room, the Christmas decor.. it was perfect! Highly recommend!
This was my first time @ Remingtons. There was a private holiday party happening in the bar area. That looked pretty terrific. Kind of wish I had worked@ the equity firm hosting the event. Lots of beautiful people having a good time.
Fortunately we were seated closer to the back - fantastic table that was super quiet. Our wait staff was excellent. One of our party was running late, but NBD for the staff. I'm wrapping up the Whole30 so meat /fish and veggies were all that was allowed but whew, I didn't NOT feel left out on this menu. Excellent grilled shrimp, even better grilled calamari on this delicious celery puree base. Split a 18 oz steak with another, w/ side of grilled asparagus and b. spouts. Excellent.
Dessert looked good, but we had a play to catch, so no time to enjoy it on this occasion.
Great food and service!
Very nice place, right across from Millennium Park.
They do a very nice job with service and food. Has an upscale look and feel, but still a comfortable ambience.
Great place for business lunch, but also a nice after work spot.
All the tables are set up so you aren’t sitting right next to someone else, overhearing their conversations, while wondering if someone is listening to yours.
Only one table I would watch out for, it’s at the top of the stairs that go down to the bathrooms. A little too much traffic for my comfort.
We had a group of 4 and came to Remington's for a pre-matinee lunch 11:30 on a Wednesday. It was empty when we arrived but the place got very busy quickly. The food and service were perfect! We had guac and chips appetizer and 4 different entrees--salads, sandwiches and rotisserie chicken with mashed potatoes. Yum! Sat by the window and enjoyed the view of Millennium Park, the Bean, the Christmas tree, and people watching on Michigan Ave. We wanted something a little fancy but not too heavy for that early in the day, and am happy with our choice. Highly recommended.
Great service even though it was very busy!
I HAVE ENJOYED BRUNCH, LUNCH AND DINNERS AT REMINGTON AND ALWAYS FOUND THE FOOD AND WINE TO BE GREAT. THE SEAFOOD BAR IS ALSO VERY GOOD.
Brunch at Remington's is quietly becoming a family tradition. On Sunday we had a family group of 6, pleasantly surprised to have been given a private room for 6 in the midst of the wine collection, lovely. Food was excellent, from the appetizers (roasted Brussel sprouts, asparagus, shrimp cocktail) to the always good steak and eggs, French dip and prime rib hash. Nice selection of drinks and excellent coffee. We will definitely be back.
Waiter was very pleasant and nice. Food seemed overpriced at first but once we ate it was worth every dime. We started with the devil eggs as an appetizer which got are stomachs going so when the full course meal came are stomachs were open and ready to receive nothing but delicious taste.
We were in Chicago for a couple of days and our hotel suggested Remington’s. Food and service was so so and noise level was very high. When we are back in town will not return.
