Remi Ratings and Reviews
First of all, they didn’t have our reservation. Double checked our Opentable confirm email and it was at the time we specified. Gave us a table. Took 20 minutes for someone to take a drink order. My husbands pasta was undercooked and my halibut, a special, was over cooked and dry. Definitely a tourist trap. Save your money and go to Fresco by Scott.
I noted in our open table reservation that we had an 8pm show. My friend arrived before me, I arrived at about 5 minutes early. No one waited on us until about 20 minutes after I arrived. Additionally, there was little follow-up by the staff during the meal. We ordered a bottle of wine and our meal at the same time as a result. We indicated that we wanted dessert but again we waited almost a half hour for the dessert. We tried to cancel, but they brought the dessert out anyway which then made us late for our show. The food was very good, but I would not recommend to others because the service, though capable, was very un-attentive and slow.m We were seated long before the restaurant got busy, so not sure what the issue was.
For an Italian restaurant to have mediocre tomato sauce is unforgiveable. The parmiagana ... same: medicore. Nothing tasteful or memorable about the food at all. Had to ask for the lunch prix fixe menu. Didn't seem as though they were eager to have us order from that menu. Beautiful place, but I'd rather have good food in a dump.
This is a very good restaurant for vegetarians. Waitstaff was attentive. Decor and dining area is fun with a high wall mural of Venice Grand Canal. The food was good and portions were large enough to share. Their specialty pasta was delicious. The artichoke appetizer was good -but a bit too much pesto (pine nut). Cappuccino was as good as what you get in Italy!
Really liked the vibe and interior immediately. Thought we were in for a great night but the food was a bit disappointing, though wine was very good. A bit loud, but most places in the city are. Waiter was good, and gave us $ off the bill because he didn’t get our order entirely correct.
Remi was an excellent restaurant with superb service. They were very accommodating and conscious of my schedule as I had limited time to dine due to an early theater performance. I regret this as I wished I could have stayed longer to enjoy the ambiance of the dining room. It was both very posh and private though the tables were full of guests. I loved, loved the tempo and the conversation level - not rushed - not loud. From my view at the table I could see that there was outdoor dining which was very inviting. My choice was the Salmon, cooked to perfection as well as the endive salad. The goat cheese baked in tomato sauce with fresh facacia and Italian bread basket were an added treat to the table as well as the homemade cookies at the end of the meal. I will definitely be back to try the pastas and other seafood and meat delicacies that looked amazing both on the menu and on the table. The wine list was quite impressive too! Don't miss the opportunity to dine at Remi.
Went here for a business dinner, as recommended by the concierge at the LeParker Meridien. The decor is sort of antique cruise ship which was appealing and fun without being stupid. The wait staff was fine, they gave us plenty of time and room to have our meeting. Full-bar. Plenty of wine selections, as well. The menu was Northern Italian and printed in Italian with English explanations. That was much appreciated. The food was a little heavy handed for Northern Italian, but still a good meal. It was pricey, though. Even for NYC, I thought for the quality of food it was priced a little high. I'd go back for a business meal/meeting, but I'd think twice before taking a family.
We had a lovely meal at Remi. The staff was very professional and attentive. The food was delicious and its an attractive looking restaurant. We are a family of four, one tween and one teenager. Everyone in the family waa happy with their meal. After watching the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall we walked a couple of blocks and enjoyed a good meal in a pretty setting.
I always feel welcomed and appreciated here. The staff is excellent and the food is exceptional. I had the pork medallions wrapped in bacon and the pork melted in my mouth. Never a disappoint. We were seeing a show at City Center and the waiter was attentive to our time constraints. A favorite for sure.
Everything was great - the homemade pasta was our selection and did not disappoint. They had a tomato sauce and ricotta dip for the fresh bread that was very nice.
We also were able to get half portions of the pasta entrees that left room for desert and they were 1/2 off.
I dine frequently at Remi so I decided to introduce the restaurant to 5 of my friends. They were equally impressed with the place and the food . The authentic homemade lasagne, penne alla vodka, beef carpaccio and the enormous chicken Parmesan were all impressive and delicious. Our waiter was very attentive as always! The place is beautiful .
