Remi Ratings and Reviews
Remi is fabulous! Great service and wonderful food! We were greeted and seated immediately at a lovely table and then our server brought us each a glass of champagne on the house! What a nice touch. There were four of us and we each ordered a house salad. The waiter was kind enough to let us know the salads were very large and that we could split them. He was right. The salads we got were still very large, very fresh, and dressed perfectly! One of us had the pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon served over risotto . It was perfectly cooked and very tasty. Two of us had a special. Homemade pasta wrapped around an Italian specialty him baked with a cheese sauce and dollops of Bolognese sauce on top. I can’t begin to say how delicious it was! I have been thinking about it ever since ! One of our diners wanted a smaller portion of the risotto and she was happily accommodated!
We were given a complimentary platter of Italian cookies with our coffee. They were fresh and delectable. Our server checked on us repeatedly through our meal and he was very kind and knowledgeable. We will all recommend this restaurant to everyone we know and we absolutely can’t wait to go back again!
My friend sent his tuna Tartar back
He said it tasted badly
I HAD THE SAME LUNCH
AND I NOTICED IT DID NOT LOOK AS APPETIZING AS IT USUALLY DOES
IN FACT IT LOOKED A LITTLE LIKE “yesterday’s food”!!!
My friend got very sick after leaving the restaurant
I LOVE THIS RESTAURANT AND RECOMMEND IT ALL THE TIME TO OTHERS
THE SERVICE IS WONDERFUL AND I LOVE THE WAITER I USUALLY HAVE
THIS IS FIRST TIME THAT THE FOOD WAS A PROBLEM
THE AMBIANCE IS ALWAYS PERFECT ALL YEAR ROUND
I WILL CONTINUE TO COME
Probably will NOT ORDER THE T. TARTAR
IM REALLY SORRY TO HAVE TO GIVE YOU THESE REMARKS
Remi has been a business lunch or dinner staple in my life for 20 years. I used to work at 1325 Avenue of the Americas, and for 20 years I’ve been attending a conference held at the Hilton next-door. The food is elegantly presented, the portions are good, the preparation is excellent, the atmosphere is elegant yet casual, and it’s a very good option in a neighborhood that is dominated by chains, Starbucks, hotels, Irish pubs, and far more overpriced lunch options. I think Remi is overpriced if you order off the menu a la carte, but the prix fixe lunch and the prix fixe dinner are excellent excellent options. If your expense in your meal, this is a good place. There used to business lunches and dinners. I don’t know that I would ever eat here if I wasn’t expecting my meal, or locally here on business, although it would probably be a decent option pre-or post theater if money is no object.
This is the second time we've eaten here. The first was ten years ago and it was even better than we remembered. Cozy bar with a list of drink specials and a really nice bartender. We both had the Remi pasta special, mine was gluten free. Amazing dish will go back again and much sooner than later.
Our experience at Remi was one of our all time favorite in New York! We took our son for his 25th birthday. The ambiance felt contemporary and elegant. Each one of our appetizers was carefully prepared and delicious --the veal meatball appetizer in particular! The staff was efficient, unobtrusive and so courteous! Upon ordering a drink to toast our son, we were told his wine was on the house-which was completely unexpected and beyond the traditional dessert and candle-which was also complimentary! It set the tone for a most delightful evening. Thank you everyone at Remi for an unforgettable meal! We can't wait to come back!
My friend and I have been to Remi's many times, but this time was for a late birthday dinner for her. Everything was perfect, thanks to our server J. Carlo Beltran. He was as elegant as Remi itself. Our food was incredible and we had a nice table in a quiet area, which I requested. I wish I could eat at Remi's every day. Thank you for a perfect evening.
Despite being a busy day (New Year’s eve) the service was good.
The food was excellent.
La Classica Caprese (Buffalo mozzarella cheese) good
Pear Endive Salad was very good
Eggplant starter was OKSuprema di Pollo was well made. Delicate flavors. Was v good
Lovely atmosphere. We had party of 3, appetizers were a hit, 2 of three meals were a hit. Tuna ravioli, tasted by all 3 guest and consensus was item should be ELIMINATED from menu! A little pricey for pasta, but cavatelli was an excellent dish.Staff was friendly and attentive.
Food was good/average, service was slow. We ordered a bottle of wine, waited more than 15 minutes and then when we asked again they told us that they couldn't find it in the cellar. We ordered a different option and after we were served the first round of wine they put the bottle on a chilling station not close to our table and they were not attentive to refilling our glasses.
also the wait for the food was long.
Very happy with our first visit to Remi. Reasonable prices. Extensive menu (which usually scares me, but any doubts I had have been erased based on our experience). We had a 9pm reservation, and the dining room was not too busy. It was nice because it was not too loud. The atmosphere was nice in the dining room. Service was terrific. Loved the tomato/goat cheese that was brought with the bread. It was excellent. Caesar salads were very good. Pasta was fresh and tasted good. The homemade mint chocolate chip gelato was the best I have EVER had. Very light mint flavor. Terrific!!! We will definitely go back to Remi.
While it’s rare to have a truely terrible dining experience in NYC, Remi manage to serve the WORST risotto I’ve ever had — not only was it not arborio rice, but it tasted like terrible pellets in an acrid sauce; it was inedible. Ironically, while our server had been arrogant and dismissive until we sent the risotto back, it seemed our rejecting that gruel gained his respect b/c he was far more attentive afterwards… Avoid this restaurant; there are too many delicious Italian restaurants in NYC to waste your time with this one!
Came here for the 2nd time for our annual NYC Christmas Eve visit. The food was excellent especially the complimentary goat cheese marinara for the table bread basket the filet mignon was cooked perfectly and the seafood salad off the specials menu was so fresh and very tasty. The only disappointment was the quality of the service. We waited over 20 minutes to receive our drinks, twice and no one came to check on us after our food came. Being that it was Christmas Eve we didn’t say anything about it but any other night I would have. From a restaurant such as Remi we expected better service - if you’re going to be open on a holiday and charge the prices you do, we expect that you’ll have enough servers to accommodate. The service wasn’t a reflection of the staff per se, they just appeared to be under staffed. And when we were there at 7:30 t didn’t seem exceptionally busy. Otherwise we had a lovely meal and will try again in the spring.
I always bring my mother and daughter to Remi for their annual birthday dinner and show in NYC in December. I think this our 6th or 7th year. It's their favorite restaurant! The food is delicious, the staff is attentive and knowledgeable, and the restaurant is beautiful. We'll see you again December 2018!
The food was outstanding. My wife is Italian- American and my daughter and I consider ourselves to be food snobs and self proclaimed experts. I also love to cook Italian and have visited Italy several times and our daughter spent a month in Italy with a family of Italian restaurateurs. So, you have some tough customers here. My wife, especially, was skeptical and thought we were setting ourselves up for another expensive and disappointing meal. We had just returned from vacationing in Morocco and were meeting up with our daughter, from New Jersey, before we headed back down to Florida. Hence, we wanted to have a nice meal and time before saying goodbye to her.
The restaurant was crowded without being too loud and the tables were not too close together. The menu has a wide variety of options. Many of the pastas are homemade and were excellent. Not only was the meal exceptional from start to finish but the service was impeccable. Juan Carlos had excellent wine recommendations and picked out the best desserts after our meal. He went above and beyond to make sure our dining experience was memorable and enjoyable.
We don’t know what we did to deserve this VIP treatment but, Juan Carlos and Remi, thank you for a wonderful evening.
Had not been here in several years. Met a classmate who was in from California whom I had not seen in decades. This was reliable neighborhood place near where we were. Place was bustling, always a good sign, and clearly patrons were locals and not tourists. Good menu choices; food well prepared. Staff was extremely gracious to allow us to stay at the table long after we were finished. As it turned out, it paid off because we were joined by a family member and another meal was ordered, and two more glasses of wine.
Definitely will return. If one has business in the neighborhood, this is a reliable and anjoyable option.
