Remi Ratings and Reviews
Remi is one of our preferred restaurants in NY. Every visit we make to NY we stop by to have dinner at this cosy restaurant. Manger Carlos is very nice and polite, as well as all the staff of the restaurant. The food is fantastic! My husband and I celebrated our 25th anniversary with our children and this year we came back to celebrate our 30th. Annyversary! But in fact, every year we find some special moment to celebrate at Remi.
I have visited this restaurant several times and each time the fixed price menu was not offered with the regular menu. One has to ask to for it, which seems to be an unfortunate policy here. This time, we had to ask three times and the waiter was somewhat surly. Also, he didn't bring the drinks until after the appetizer course was served. (The other wait staff was fine.) If this happens again I would not recommend this restaurant.
Excellent service. When the maître d' found out we were celebrating a birthday, they gave us complimentary glasses of Moscato for the 3 people at the table, and a lovely limoncello cheesecake for the birthday girl. It's those thoughtful details that make customers remember a place and want to come back often, or recommend it to other. It was a great lunch experience.
Was very nice ambiance and very good authentic Italian food served tastefully. Service was not what I would expect at a restaurant of this caliber. When we arrived we gave our name to the Hostess and she never said welcome, just brought us to our seats and plunked down the menus and she was off. Not the greatest way to start. Luckily the remainder of the evening was better.
3 dinners in 4 days says alot. We were treated each time as old friends. By the second night, the waitstaff knew our unique cocktail requirements and had them on the table moments after we sat down. They knew my wife's allergies and were able to make recommendations based on her limitations. The food was consistently excellent and the service consistent with a 5 star experience.
Fabulous from start to finish!! We were greeted warmly and immediately been shown to a lovely table. Our waiter explained all the specials and answered any questions we had regarding the menu. Great wine list! Wonderful inspired menu options. The homemade lentil soup with honey was the perfect starter. A very generous bowl! The pork wrapped in bacon was decadent. One of the night’s specials of a homemade pasta wrapped around a delicious Italian ham in a Parmesan cream sauce with a dollop of bolognese sauce on top would make me go back again and again! We will definitely return and will be certainly to share our recommendation with friends and family!
The waiter was incompetent!! One of us ordered wine from the menu, but he never brought it and when questioned, he said he didn’t remember the order. While we were still eating, he removed the tomato dip for the bread, but left the bread. Again while we were eating dessert, he brought the check, without being asked. One of the cocktails was not completely finished, but one of the busboys just took it without asking if it was finished. Altogether it was very unpleasant for my guests. I will not be returning!
Beautiful restaurant and very comfortable seating. The bread basket came with a tasty red sauce with goat cheese that was tasty, but for a business meal, was a bit challenging to avoid double-dipping. My gnocchi was thick, and not the light, fluffy pillows I have had at many Italian places. The sauce was tasty, but I think "chewy", and not in a good way, would describe the gnocchi. My business associate thought his meal was outstanding, penne with a Bolognese sauce. The wine list was adequate and the pricing was average. Service was quiet, efficient and the right level of attentive. Overall, I would return, but not order the gnocchi.
Really good and authentic Italian restaurant. They have a prix fix menu for lunch and dinner but I had to ask multiple times to see the menu and clearly it was not something they were promoting. I ended up ordering one of the specials off the menu and it was simply superb. I cannot remember the exact name other than it was something like Pasta de Nido (birds nest) with three nests of pasta filled with ham and baked cheese and red sauce—yum! The Caesar Salad also was really good. I would definitely return if/when I am back in New York. One tip, if you are with a group and want to separate checks make sure to ask right away before ordering as this became an issue for the server.
We needed a restaurant close by the theater and as a New Yorker, I'm always hesitant about the same old places. Remi showed up on an internet search and I was surprised I had never been, as several years ago, I worked only a few blocks away. This is a very cool spot. The place is architecturally and visually spectacular and the food equaled the setting. We were surprised and delighted by the quality and creativity of the dishes. One that stood out was the artichoke appetizer. Don't miss it. We enjoyed the tuna ravioli as well. Not inexpensive, but this place is certainly worth it. The service was attentive and unobtrusive. We didn't feel like we were at a "pre-theater" restaurant. Definitely a restaurant to go back to try various dishes on other than a theater night!
A real find near MOMA and the City center, Remi offers a quiet atmosphere, excellent food and terrific service. From the house made pastas to a wide choice of appetizers and main dishes, portions are large and the food good. We had not been here for a while but is now at the top of our list In that area
This play is incredible! All of the staff is amazing. They are so accommodating and helpful. The food is amazing as well! I have been there many times and have not been disappointed. If they have a special on the menu and you’re choosing between one of their regular dishes and a special, always go with the special. Literally every single every dish I’ve had here has been delicious. Wonderful play! Highly recommend!
