Relish Wine Bar & Grill
The food is okay! It’s average food.. it is everything else that needs improvement! The service was not great but it wasn’t terrible! One person did not receive their food with the rest of us and had to wait about ten minutes for it. They apologized saying it was made incorrectly the first time. The decor is awful! Paper Valentines stuck to the walls. White linen table clothes covered with brown paper. I wasn’t sure if it was fine dining or they were going to dump a bucket of crabs on the table. There are little bugs flying around. YUCk!
Extremely rude staff. No one approached the table for over 35min. Three other tables simply got up and left. When the staff member (who wasn’t even a server) came over to take our order. Told us we had to order everything at once or we wouldn’t get our food or drinks for an additional extended amount of time. We had 35min to see the menu so we knew what we wanted, but never have had someone say that especially after waiting that long and then to not even have an apology for the wait. I can’t see this place lasting unless things change or they hire more staff. It’s like they were short by 4 servers and 2 kitchen staff. I would go somewhere else. Prices are way too high for the quality and the service level.
Food was great. Service was a little slow, but was valentine's day so also v busy. I would go again.
Everything was wonderful. The food was excellent and the service was fabulous.
The service was awful
Noisy dinning room
Took 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive and a 1/2 hour for the check
The food and service were excellent. We had grilled octopus and the lobster lollipops for an appetizer both excellent. For entrees we had the roasted chicken and salmon they were both moist tasty and delicious. I would definitely recommend Relish to a friend
First time. Everything was fantastic. Will definitely go back!
Prix fixe lunch was excellent. Great choices. Huge portions. Waiter was wonderful
Food was excellent and the servers were very friendly
Bar area is beautiful, they made a whiskey smash that was excellent. Food was good, not to loud , I recommended it to coworkers who live in the Derby /Shelton area. We will go back
We made a reservation here as we were going to be nearby visiting family for Christmas, having traveled from the Boston area. The family that owns Relish is from Costa Rica and the dishes were fresh and prepared well. All fresh ingredients, including mussels delivered that day. Our server Jose (family member) was personable and efficient. We highly recommend Relish.
First time here. Nice big restaurant Big bar room with high top tables and separate dining room. Also seems to be a room for a private party. The entire staff was so friendly ..from the moment we were greeted until we left everyone was smiling and cordial . Very nice menu. We started with fried calamari which was very good . Entrees included a salad with grilled salmon and linguine with clams. Both dishes were delicious. All the pastas are hand made and gluten free . Wine list was adequate . We did not have dessert but they sounded great. Owner walks around and ensures everything is spot on.
Definitely will be returning often
Great location with ample parking, friendly and attentive staff and very good food. Our friend has to have gluten free and the pasta she said was the best she has ever had.
Chef came out to speak with her about how they do not make the pasta with rice flour, but other ingredients.
Braised Short rib was awesome and portions plentiful.
We will be back.
We went in during happy hour. The service was great. The food was very good, but we only ordered the appetizers that were on the happy hour specials. They were very good. So was the pizza. Will definitely go back.
The food was amazing! Nice choices and cooked to perfection.
Relish was an absolute treat! I highly recommend this establishment and my family and I will definitely be back!
We were 4 four dinner. Everyone had something different and all was very good. There was a special of
frog's legs for an app. that was wonderful! Hope they will be on the menu again. Scallops that were a special were also very good. Pappadelle with bolognese sauce well received and mussels in wine needed more seasoning.
Will be back soon.
Visited on Sunday for brunch with a party of 9 - made a reservation the night in advance. We were excited to try it since there are not a lot of brunch restaurants in the Valley. There was no one in the restaurant and very few parties came in throughout our 2.5 hours there. Service was ridiculously slow. Some of our party ordered apps and requested they come at the same time as the rest of the meals since that was what they wanted for main course. Within about 20 minutes the apps came out and the rest of us did not see our meals for an hour! The waitstaff did not come over to see us for a good 45 minute period. We watched a few other families come in and get their food far before we got ours. By the time the food came, anyone that had ordered brunch food had cold plates. The food wasn't bad - most ate their full meals, but we were so disappointed in the slow service given that they promote a brunch menu and that the restaurant was not busy. The staff did not even acknowledge the delay in our food. Overall the food is pricey for the overall experience. Some of the brunch menu was reasonably priced, but then other items were overpriced. Think they have a lot of kinks to work out otherwise, I do not see this place staying in town long. We will not be back.
The food was absolutely delicious, especially the homemade pasta. It was unbelievable that the pasta was gluten-free.
Very good food, great selection, service was fine. I will be back.
Back for the 2nd time in a week! This definitely isn’t bar food! Filet mignon and scallops special was delicious. Homemade pappardelle was excellent. No one was disappointed although some appetizers were better than others! Quiet in the dining room. Bar is livelier (and noisier). Looking forward to them having a wine list! Gracious hosts/owners. All staff (except our server) was top notch.
