Thought the atmosphere was great. Lovely ambiance. The staff was attentive. Food was delicious. My steak was perfection. Nice specialty drink selection. That all said I did find it a bit expensive. Good for a special occasion at those prices.
It was our 1st time there & we loved it!! Loved the ambiance, the food & service! The bar area was soo nice! A great place to hang out & have cocktails before a delicious dinner!
The hosts were very attentive. The service was still finding its groove and not able to answer a few basic questions about the menu, but did a good job otherwise The dishes were well seasoned and flavorful. My dish was not hot but everyone else’s was. Chicken dish was a little fatty.
Overall a good experience and plan to go back.
Great place, quality food and the service was great. Thank you. Regards, JimR
Nice ambiance, friendly staff, small menu geared to a steak house vibe but something available for everyone's taste. We enjoyed dinner and drinks and definitely will be back.
Great meal, terrific service and lovely ambiance. I look forward to returning.
The ambiance, food, and selection of wine and spirits were excellent but the personal touch of the server, bartender, and owners made the experience amazing. My date made it perfect, but you’ll have to find your own.
Food was average, at best. Presentation left much to be desired.
Great patio, Tracey gave us wonderful service!
Cozy quiet outside section with nice atmosphere.
Very limited menus but salmon was very good.
I will return
I feel badly because the space was really nice, and the vibe of the restaurant was cool, but they just don't have it together yet.
Our server was lovely and was working her tail off, but she was just over extended, and doing too much.
Likewise, the food was on the expensive side for what it was, but that would have been fine if it was prepared well. My Halibut was so overcooked I had to send it back. Then, it took 20 minutes to get my second...which was better, but not great. Also, our drinks took forever and the server told us that they were having computer problems as well...so orders weren't going through.
On the plus side, they did recognize that things were bad, and they comped us for our drinks and my fish...as they should have. And, I felt so sorry for our hardworking server...I wanted to get up and help her.
Anyway, if they plan to make it, even with a lovely space, they will need to drop their prices a bit to be competitive with other restaurants in the area, and work out the kinks before they become overextended.
I will give them one more shot in a few months to see how it is, but if there has not been improvement...they will be a "no" for me.
The food, drinks and our waiter were great, however the rest of the staff was unprofessional- not rude or anything just not what I would have expected for upper scale dining.
Relic has great service. Everyone from greeters, to bartender, to server were great. Food is delicious, and we loved the intimate, attractive outdoor patio. Would really like to see Relic become a Newtown fixture for a long time.
Food was good, though I didn't venture out too much. Veal chop was good and brussel sprouts were great! The bar and the service were the highlights for us. The bar has a curated selection, great wine list, and very comfortable atmosphere. The staff was fantastic, very attentive and super friendly! We would def go back.
Relic is quietly elegant. Food is wonderful, service is fine. I enjoy having a quiet dinner without all the excitement of other restaurants on the same street. Even the children who were here were well behaved. Relic has a limited menu that, I hope, will be changed in the future.
Overall very good but kitchen was very slow...you need patience when you go out!
The food & drinks were outstanding. Atmosphere was upscale & the personnel were attentive. We had an issue with the speed of the food coming out, but Tony, the manager, came over and was very gracious & went over and above to satisfy us. This is our new go to restaurant in the area.
From the moment we sat down it was downhill. We first sat outside since it was a beautiful evening. However, when the waitress came for our order she noticed friends walking by and excused herself. We sat, and sat while she chatted away. REALLY aren’t you working and waiting on your customers? The area outside was extremely plain also. Decided to go inside and sat upstairs in a beautiful dinning room. Waited and finally got drinks 25 minutes after first arriving. Bread for the table was very good and glad we had it for the long wait before receiving food. Beet salad was excellent and Caesar was ok. Again, we waited 40 minutes for dinner plates. Could hear waiter apologizing for long wait times. I had the Diver scallops and rice - extremely salty!!!! I wanted to send it back but we waited so long and just ate what I could handle. The gnocchi with lobster was good. Don’t mind paying for good food but this just didn’t hit the mark for us. Will not be returning anytime soon.
Fabulous spot! Great service, amazing food and cocktails. Owners are always visible showing lots of hospitality to the patrons. Definitely give it a try!
A lovely place. Great food. Right-sized portions: neither too large nor too small. Steak and asparagus cooked perfectly, potatoes delicious. Friendly staff.
We were lucky enough to be there the night they opened their patio for outdoor dining. Beautiful night to dine outside. Our server was awesome and extremely helpful with deciding our entrees. Food was delicious and cocktail and wine list were great. Highly recommend the scallops, double pork chop and salmon. They ran out of lobster ravioli but the chef did a lobster gnocchi in vodka sauce that my wife loved. It was our first dining experience at Relic and we definitely will return.
Fantastic experience and excellent service, food, and drinks... May have been our 1st visit, but won't be our last
Great dining experience
The staff was greet and like what they did with the space. Food was good, but wish there was just a bit more variety.
This was our first time dining at Relic and we were impressed with the attentiveness of the staff and owner. From the appetizers to dessert, everything was perfectly prepared and DELICIOUS. We will definitely be back
Great food and cocktails! Can’t wait to dine again! Definitely recommend
Wonderful service everything you could ask for on a night out. 10 out of 10 would recommend.
They serve GreatFood, Beautifully Presented in a lovely place. Actually it's more than food IT"s CUISINE!!!
Wonderful dining experience. Food was awesome. Great service.
Great food, great ambiance. The entire staff from owners Greg and Tony to the host, Aaron, I think, are attentive beyond measure. Asking our names, referring to us by our names throughout the evening made us feel special and appreciated. Tracy, our server was incredibly attentive. Steph makes a nice cocktail. It was the first time I’ve had a full meal here (other times a drink and an appetizer) and it did not disappoint. Looking forward to more enjoyable meals at Relic.
This was our first visit to Relic on State, and it won’t be the last. We had a lovely meal, and the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and accommodating. The yummy crusty bread topped with rosemary was a promising indicator of what was to come. Between the four of us, we ordered the beet salad, the scallop, lobster ravioli and salmon entrees, and key lime pie and flourless chocolate cake desserts. All were prepared and plated beautifully. We’re glad to see this special space brought back to life — a wonderful addition to the Newtown dining scene!
had a great meal, the atmosphere was great and the staff was fun and engaging. We will def be back!
This was our first time at Relic. Our entire experience was truly lovely. The building is gorgeous inside and out. We were warmly greeted and shown to our table. Our server was vey helpful and paid attention to us but was never intrusive. Our meal was delicious. I had the halibut and my husband had the filet. Both were cooked perfectly. We had Brussel sprouts and mashed for sides, also very nice.
This was our anniversary and we were surprised with glasses of prosecco. We finished off our meal with a chocolate torte that was topped with raspberry sorbet which was really nice. Another server stopped by and asked us for feedback which we happily shared.
We will be back.
New restaurant pushed by local paper. There are plenty of excellent restaurants in this area. We were very disappointed in the actual sides (except for the potatoes and the bread).
The lobster/shrimp salad for $26 was a disappointment both in taste as well as the amount of lobster (practically non-existent).
The other salmon entree was OK but nothing special for $31. These folks escaped NYC and brought prices and not quality. Also, forget charging $8 for a bottle of Pellegrino.
Too bad this restaurant is in a nice location and could have potential if they correct the deficits.
Very impressive decor. Our server, Sarah did a great job and made the experience very pleasurable. The downside was the food preparation. Our crab bisque came out lukewarm and the steaks, although prepared perfectly, were served on a room temperature plate so the steak cooled too quickly. The quality of the food was excellent and our cocktails were first rate. Since this is a new restaurant I will definitely return hoping for a few improvements to make it a better experience.
Excellent salmon and great service
Really good group of people here. staff was excellent and very nice atmosphere. signature drinks are pricey but very good!! Should be a must visit for those who have not tried this new place. We will be back!!
First time. All wonderful, from service to food to drinks. Was a wonderful evening. Not in expensive, but worth every penny.
Lester and the rest of the staff were wonderful. Meal was delicious!
We were able to sit in a room with only 3 tables so it was quiet, though the larger dining rooms were not all that noisy. Our beet salad was excellent and the veal chop was perfect. The halibut was not fresh that day but still very tasty. The key lime pie was the best I have ever tasted.
The front end needs a little polishing but everyone was extremely friendly and helpful.
