The food & drinks were outstanding. Atmosphere was upscale & the personnel were attentive. We had an issue with the speed of the food coming out, but Tony, the manager, came over and was very gracious & went over and above to satisfy us. This is our new go to restaurant in the area.
From the moment we sat down it was downhill. We first sat outside since it was a beautiful evening. However, when the waitress came for our order she noticed friends walking by and excused herself. We sat, and sat while she chatted away. REALLY aren’t you working and waiting on your customers? The area outside was extremely plain also. Decided to go inside and sat upstairs in a beautiful dinning room. Waited and finally got drinks 25 minutes after first arriving. Bread for the table was very good and glad we had it for the long wait before receiving food. Beet salad was excellent and Caesar was ok. Again, we waited 40 minutes for dinner plates. Could hear waiter apologizing for long wait times. I had the Diver scallops and rice - extremely salty!!!! I wanted to send it back but we waited so long and just ate what I could handle. The gnocchi with lobster was good. Don’t mind paying for good food but this just didn’t hit the mark for us. Will not be returning anytime soon.
Fabulous spot! Great service, amazing food and cocktails. Owners are always visible showing lots of hospitality to the patrons. Definitely give it a try!
A lovely place. Great food. Right-sized portions: neither too large nor too small. Steak and asparagus cooked perfectly, potatoes delicious. Friendly staff.
We were lucky enough to be there the night they opened their patio for outdoor dining. Beautiful night to dine outside. Our server was awesome and extremely helpful with deciding our entrees. Food was delicious and cocktail and wine list were great. Highly recommend the scallops, double pork chop and salmon. They ran out of lobster ravioli but the chef did a lobster gnocchi in vodka sauce that my wife loved. It was our first dining experience at Relic and we definitely will return.
Fantastic experience and excellent service, food, and drinks... May have been our 1st visit, but won't be our last
Great dining experience
The staff was greet and like what they did with the space. Food was good, but wish there was just a bit more variety.
This was our first time dining at Relic and we were impressed with the attentiveness of the staff and owner. From the appetizers to dessert, everything was perfectly prepared and DELICIOUS. We will definitely be back
Great food and cocktails! Can’t wait to dine again! Definitely recommend
Wonderful service everything you could ask for on a night out. 10 out of 10 would recommend.
They serve GreatFood, Beautifully Presented in a lovely place. Actually it's more than food IT"s CUISINE!!!
Wonderful dining experience. Food was awesome. Great service.
Great food, great ambiance. The entire staff from owners Greg and Tony to the host, Aaron, I think, are attentive beyond measure. Asking our names, referring to us by our names throughout the evening made us feel special and appreciated. Tracy, our server was incredibly attentive. Steph makes a nice cocktail. It was the first time I’ve had a full meal here (other times a drink and an appetizer) and it did not disappoint. Looking forward to more enjoyable meals at Relic.
This was our first visit to Relic on State, and it won’t be the last. We had a lovely meal, and the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and accommodating. The yummy crusty bread topped with rosemary was a promising indicator of what was to come. Between the four of us, we ordered the beet salad, the scallop, lobster ravioli and salmon entrees, and key lime pie and flourless chocolate cake desserts. All were prepared and plated beautifully. We’re glad to see this special space brought back to life — a wonderful addition to the Newtown dining scene!
had a great meal, the atmosphere was great and the staff was fun and engaging. We will def be back!
This was our first time at Relic. Our entire experience was truly lovely. The building is gorgeous inside and out. We were warmly greeted and shown to our table. Our server was vey helpful and paid attention to us but was never intrusive. Our meal was delicious. I had the halibut and my husband had the filet. Both were cooked perfectly. We had Brussel sprouts and mashed for sides, also very nice.
This was our anniversary and we were surprised with glasses of prosecco. We finished off our meal with a chocolate torte that was topped with raspberry sorbet which was really nice. Another server stopped by and asked us for feedback which we happily shared.
We will be back.
New restaurant pushed by local paper. There are plenty of excellent restaurants in this area. We were very disappointed in the actual sides (except for the potatoes and the bread).
The lobster/shrimp salad for $26 was a disappointment both in taste as well as the amount of lobster (practically non-existent).
The other salmon entree was OK but nothing special for $31. These folks escaped NYC and brought prices and not quality. Also, forget charging $8 for a bottle of Pellegrino.
Too bad this restaurant is in a nice location and could have potential if they correct the deficits.
Very impressive decor. Our server, Sarah did a great job and made the experience very pleasurable. The downside was the food preparation. Our crab bisque came out lukewarm and the steaks, although prepared perfectly, were served on a room temperature plate so the steak cooled too quickly. The quality of the food was excellent and our cocktails were first rate. Since this is a new restaurant I will definitely return hoping for a few improvements to make it a better experience.
Excellent salmon and great service
Really good group of people here. staff was excellent and very nice atmosphere. signature drinks are pricey but very good!! Should be a must visit for those who have not tried this new place. We will be back!!
First time. All wonderful, from service to food to drinks. Was a wonderful evening. Not in expensive, but worth every penny.
Lester and the rest of the staff were wonderful. Meal was delicious!
We were able to sit in a room with only 3 tables so it was quiet, though the larger dining rooms were not all that noisy. Our beet salad was excellent and the veal chop was perfect. The halibut was not fresh that day but still very tasty. The key lime pie was the best I have ever tasted.
The front end needs a little polishing but everyone was extremely friendly and helpful.
What a gem in Newtown in Bucks County. Food, service and drinks are wonderful. A wonderful spot for a weekly dinner. A must restaurant to visit. You will not be disappointed.
First time at Relic on State Street. It was a wonderful experience. The food was nicely prepared. I had a Rib Eye that was great and my wife had the scallops which she enjoyed. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the server was helpful. A real gem for Newtown!
Very nice updates made to the dining areas. Service was excellent, however, the food was overpriced for the quality. Several of us ordered the Cobb Salad with lobster and shrimp. You would be hard pressed to find the lobster, and the shrimp were small and also in short supply. At $26, I assumed this would be more substantial.
Great addition to local restaurants. Historic site that adds to the ambiance. Excellent wine list and cocktail menu. Wonderful steaks and the brussels sprouts were incredible. Save room for the key lime pie on the dessert menu. Woody is a professional and we are looking forward to going back.
Everything was great except our food came out cold. The waiter was fantastic and offered to make amends but we chose to eat it—delicious but not hot. He was great and we would come back
Beautiful restaurant. Amazing food. Fantastic spot!!
I have rarely had a dining experience that was so good. Aspects of other meals were quite good, but not every category. I believe that how you are greeted, taken to your table are predictive of what's to come. Professional server, friendly knew the menu inside out. Wonderful food, fair price. Quiet room. No guys with hats on backwards were missing, stayed in Richboro. This Relic is worth traveling for!
Wonderful hidden gem in Newtown. The food was superb and service could not be better, will be back for sure!
So nice to see casual, yet elegant dining come to Newtown! Had a classic cocktail at the bar before dinner. That gave us an opportunity to have casual conversation with the bartender and the manager/owner about the menu and the history of the business. The building has been refurbished to bring out the original colonial structure and to turn the rooms into quiet charming dining spaces. It gives you the feeling of walking into 1776 Revolutionary America. You can almost expect to see General Washington walk through the door. The cocktails were perfect, an Old Fashioned and a Sidecar, made will fresh ingredients and very generous. We had the Berkshire pork chop and the veal chop, both were perfectly done and delicious, very tender and juicy. The Brussels sprouts were delicious, with bacon and balsamic vinegar. An unexpected highlight of the meal was the bread! It was freshly baked, tender and moist inside, with a light, slightly crusty exterior and sprinkled with a little salt. The salt was a nice touch. Also, the wedge salad was excellent with very fresh lettuce, tomatoes, crispy bacon and very nice bleu cheese. We will definitely support this business whenever we can. We don’t want to lose a restaurant of this caliber.
I am so excited to finally see a great restaurant go into this space! Everything about it is excellent, from the service to the atmosphere to the food. The wine list is impeccably curated and the decor is beautiful. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable and made great recommendations. We can’t wait to go back!
2 hours to get food
Food was good but took forever to get anything. We had to ask server repeatedly for our drinks we ordered.
Relic is a gem of a restaurant. There staff there was very friendly and accomodating . They have been open for about 10 weeks now and are very willing to please and want to know what they can do better.
The food and drinks were great! There is a creative touch in all the offerings.
The decor has a warm and historic feel to it.
We plan to return to it in the near future.
Wonderful owners, great atmosphere, and delicious food!
