Relic was closed. The doors were locked. No one answered the phone. We had reservations for a birthday dinner, which were confirmed the day before. Open table please be aware of this and stop taking reservations. We went to Rocco’s and had a wonderful meal.

I made a dinner reservation for May 29 to celebrate my wife’s birthday. The restaurant was closed. Apparently it closed over a month ago . Explain open table?!?!

We had reservations on 5/29 for dinner. I received a confirmation email from OpenTable and I confirmed that we would be there. We arrived only to discover that the doors were locked and it was dark inside. I called the number, but no one answered. This was to be a retirement celebration for my dear friend. I reached out to Relic numerous times, but to no avail. I don’t understand what happened. I even sent them a private message and there was zero response.

Top-tier steak and cocktails in a cozy, historic setting Relic on State Street is one of my favorite places in Newtown for a great steak dinner. Their New York strip is consistently excellent — bold, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. For the quality, I think it’s one of the best values around. Their cocktail menu is another standout. I’ve enjoyed several over my visits — the Negroni, Sidecar, Margarita, Southside, and Boulevardier — and each one has been well-crafted and enjoyable. It’s definitely one of the top spots in the area for a great drink. The restaurant has a charming upstairs dining space with a relaxed, intimate feel. Located in a quaint, walkable part of town with convenient parking nearby, it’s a great choice for after-work dinners, date nights, or hosting colleagues. Service has been warm and attentive on every visit. While the team includes some younger support staff, they’re friendly and helpful, and the overall experience always feels well taken care of. Highly recommended for anyone looking for consistently good food, great cocktails, and a welcoming atmosphere.
