Amazing food, drinks, tea, and ambiance! Very pricy--not an everyday treat. Efficient waiters exuded the stiff upper lips of palace guards, which is now a bit out of favour in this former outpost of the Empire, but it was still a lovely experience overall.

Absolutely outstanding. The food and wine were excellent. The music was excellent. And the ambiance is outstanding. I love the fireplace and dining at Reign Bar.

It was nice. The waiter however I called out to a few times and didn’t hear me.

Lovely room. Pastries, scones very nice. Sandwiches disappointing- cold, bread and croissant stale. My 2 guests had to wait for me in the bar and champagne selection more limited than if they were seated in dining room to wait for me (running 5 minutes late for 2:30 res, which they advised woman at check in desk). Waitress lovely.

We enjoyed our dining experience at Reign. The back room was a bit noisy so we were graciously moved to another section

Our breakfast experience was also very nice. Beautiful ambiance next to the fire Expensive but you are paying for the beautiful, relaxing atmosphere.

Food and environment were excellent.

Love the changes. Drink menu lacking some, prices for cocktails too high for volume in the drink, Service was excellent. Food was average for the price and expected more style and quantity.

Renovations have been fantastic. Very comfortable seats. Great menu options. Service was very attentive. I would definitely come back for a romantic dinner or a business meeting.

Afternoon tea. Stale sandwich’s and very over priced for what we received. Service and ambience was good. Disappointment from when Afternoon Tea at the Fairmont Royal York was in The Library.

What a treat! Everything was delicious and the service was impeccable. I was particularly impressed with how the serving staff went the extra mile to make sure our order was correct, and brought us a complimentary dessert to celebrate our anniversary. We can’t wait to come back! Thank you!

We really enjoyed our dinner with friends. It was nice to be able to talk with our loud music. The tables are well spaced for conversation and this creates a relaxing atmosphere. The food portions were generous and very delicious. A wonderful restaurant for any occasion.

The restaurant was everything we hoped it would be! Our waiter Kevin was extremely nice and knowledgeable, the food was delicious and the restaurant itself was gorgeous. It was the perfect treat for date night.

Afternoon Tea is a unique type of experience.I missed the China teapot, the tea was weak,the sandwiches were dry, the scones and clotted cream were too small ,not right for such a tea...very sorry to give you this unhappy feedback ..I have always enjoyed tea at the Royal York.
My friend and I did have a great visit together yet our traditional Birthday Tea itself was surprisingly disappointing.

Food was great, very over priced

Good service, good food and excellent coffee but very pricey. We were there for brunch and our entrees, while tasty, weren't hot enough. We didn't say anything to our server because we didn't have time to send the entrees back and have them replaced. I think they sat too long before being served to us.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and the live performance in the Reign lounge. The atmosphere was lively and the experience was excellent.

It was very meh. Boring place. Felt like everybody there was retired and had given up on life. Do not go if under the age of 45.

We enjoyed our meal. The waitress was very attentive. The restaurant is quiet so it was easy to sit and talk.
After dinner we enjoyed sitting by the fire in the lounge.

We ate a Reign for Valentine’s Day and decided on the set price menu. It sounded delicious but we were disappointed. The shared menu was smaller than expected and the main entree - duck - was underdone and not very good. We expected a crispier skin and a more savoury meat but it was somewhat rubbery. The dessert was amazing however and the only part of the meal that was filling. Also the cocktail was yummy at the start. In future I would not order the set price menu and stick with something from the main menu. 85.00 is a lot to pay for what little food we received. As to service it was efficient and quick. The ambiance was very nice as well. My only criticism is portioning - my husband eats a lot more than I do and unfortunately he ended up eating most of the meal.

We enjoyed our afternoon tea at Reign. Service was excellent, as was the food. Best tea we’ve had in the city...heads and shoulders over the Windsor Arms. We certainly look forward to returning again in the near future.

Too formal - would not go back. Found everyone in suits. Was not aware that it was this formal. Wanted something more low key

Hostess and waitress was very friendly. Was disappointed with their lobster bisque as it only has citrus flavor. However, their cocktails were amazing!!! Overall was a great experience!

The restaurant misses the mark. We were loyal clients of the previous restaurant EPIC which was reincarnated as Reign. Reign positions itself as a French bistro style restaurant. It achieves this by having minimal space between tables, no tablecloths and a fairly high noise level. However, unlike a real bistro, the prices are quite high. You also get the thumping noise from the piano bar but don't actually hear the music. Be prepared to spend big dollars especially on wine and drinks. The food itself was well prepared and excellent. Service was OK. Bottom line, there is nothing compelling to come here especially given the high prices. There are far too many truly outstanding restaurants in the downtown area. We will not be returning.

The remake of the Royal York's main dining room/bar is a pleasant spot for dinner with friends and close family and on the whole more comfortable and less intimidating than its predecessor (IIRC Epic). The menu has enough variety to meet all tastes (including those who eschew flesh) through the wine list looks slimmed down from from its previous incarnation. That said, the wines by the glass are sufficient in variety and style to accompany any choices from the menu. (A good selection of solid craft beer is also provided in both the dining room and the bar next to it, though one of our group was disappointed his bottle of champagne was not chilled when it arrived and needed to be "boosted" with a chilling agent added to the ice bucket.). Can't speak to the other items ordered at our table but the steak tartare and duck breast were prepared to perfection. Of course, be prepared to spend above $100 per person but with no regret afterwards. Our waiter (sorry if the term isn't considered appropriate) was a real pro, friendly and knowledgeable but not obsequious...and a vet from Epic. And I received All points, the new Accor|Fairmont stay program, for the dinner too (though you must link your All account with your Visa card.

More attention to detail is needed. I made a special request via the Open Table app which was received by Reign . I wanted a rounded booth for my wife and I but we weren't seated at a booth so I had to request that we be moved. Pages in the menu we were given were ripped- one page was ripped right through. The draft taps weren't working, the menu had a full roasted chicken or half - even the half was way too big a portion for my wife therefore, lots of wasted food. I had the duck - it was very good tasting but the side was frites which wasn't a big deal but the fries were over done and there were a bunch of small bits that looked like they had been in the fryer for quite some time as they were very crisp - almost burned - looked like the remnants of french fries after a full day in the deep fryer. I had a good conversation with the server and the assistant manager about my concerns . They were very accommodating and gracious and didn't charge me for the duck entrée and gave my wife and I free desserts . I appreciate them doing that but of course I would have referred a better experience. This is a first world problem - many people in the city are homeless so the issues detailed above aren't so bad. Its just that for a restaurant that bills itself as high end and is in the iconic Fairmont Royal York should've been better.

My husband and I went last Saturday for dinner. It was our first time. The food was delicious and the service was amazing!! Ava was so knowledgeable, welcoming and helpful. I can't wait to go back with friends! I had the ROASTED BEET & SHAVED FENNEL, steak de choux fleur and the chocolate mousse for dessert. Every dish was so yummy. My husband had the duck confit salad, the wild boar chop and the rum and raisin dessert. All very yummy! Highly recommend!

2 visits. Maitre'd gave us a tour of the rooms and explained focus of renos: Canadian sourced materials, theme, keeping traditional art deco which was special. Very pleased to see some of the previous servers still there. Talked to them and they rememered us from past years. However quality of food did not equate to very pricy cost, rather ordinary. $18 small glass of Proseco??

Food was delicious and the atmosphere was very comfortable. Great location and conducive to good discussions - easier to hear everyone. Fabulous cocktails
