This was my first experience with the breakfast buffet and it was great - and worth every penny! I was there with my 89 year old mother, and our waiter was wonderful in helping me make sure she had everything she needed. I could not have had a better experience and Avery helped make it that way.
We will definately be back!
We had a server who was in a frustrated mood but will return for sure. Delish food, yummy 1/2 wine offerings, gorgeous live music.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner date. Our table was ready for us when we arrived. Reid's has a nice selection of wines and local craft beers. We were there on burger night, but there were plenty of other options to choose from. The brussel sprouts are THE BEST! One order is definitely shareable. Reid's is located in a wonderful part of South Charlotte - SouthPark. And you definitely don't feel like you're at a mall when you are dining here. Wednesday's are half price wine night - we will be back!
We had a great time at Reid’s! The burger and the chicken sandwich were amazing. Definitely get a bottle of wine from the store and save $15-20!
My second time here left a lot to be desired. Our server didn’t check on us for over 30 minutes so we ended up moving to the bar to order food. Margherita pizza was small and flavorless and was like ordering a pizza off of a kids menu. Brussels were bland and came out cold. Also, because it was burger night the regular menu wasn’t offered which was highly disappointing. We were told we could order some items from the deli. Not in a hurry to return after this experience.
Great food and service
Excellent food and service.
My husband and I have been to this Reid's fine foods for lunch several times before and always have had a very good experience. This was no exception. We came right after brunch for lunch and had to wait a bit until a table opened up; we were meeting some family that we hadn't seen in several years so it gave us a good chance to catch up.
What we were most impressed with on this visit was our incredible server and the person assisting him; both were extremely attentive and it made our dining experience that much more enjoyable.
I am so disappointed at the dining experience my family and I had tonight celebrating my birthday at Reid's. Because I frequent Reids at the Selwyn Road location, I am familiar with their prepared foods and such, which led me to believe that dining there would be equal if not better than taking out. I could not be more wrong. When we arrived, the person behind the meat counter was sneezing and did not follow proper health practices by covering his nose and mouth, nor did he wash his hands immediately after. That is a major health code violation, but not enough to make me leave. I know.... For simplification, I am going to write out in bullet form the details of our meal:
1. I ordered my steak rare, and when it came out beyond medium, and I brought it to the server's attention, he mentioned then that, "this happens a lot. I hit the rare button, but even when I do, they overcook it." That was it, no apology, just an acknowledgment of, "yep, that is what happens!"
2. We ordered two salmon entrees, which was highly recommended by the server as one of his favorites. They were to be prepared medium and arrived well over medium and not fresh.
3. We ordered dessert, and our plates were removed before my son-in-law decided to finish mine, so I ask our server for another fork. He proceeded to dig through the dirty dishes, trying to find his fork. At that point, I was irritated and told him to please get him a clean fork.
In conclusion, I believe there is one of two things that happened. We dined here for dinner on an off-night, & if so, okay, things happen. Sadly though, we will not go back to risk $200+ to see if it is better or slightly better. The other possibility is this is the place to go for lunch. Maybe these great reviews are from lunchtime diners? I guess if the dinner experience is consistent with mine, there are far too many good restaurants around this area that will eventually leave Reid's to rely on prepared foods, lunch dining, & Postmates.
What would’ve been great was ruined by flies all over the patio. We ate quickly and left because of it.
Very very loud. Did i say it was VERY LOUD.
Would recommend and will return. Burger and Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich were both excellent along with the Brussels. Our server was friendly and the service was excellent. Manager on duty checked on us and made sure that we were enjoying everything.
The atmosphere is unlike anything else in Charlotte! With the grocery store attached full of local goodies, a butchers case, deli case, cheese+ charcuterie department, and wine room what more could you want? I went Wednesday night with some of my friends for 1/2 price glasses of wine and live music they have every Wednesday night! Sam our server was excellent and the entire staff was delightful and attentive. The charcuterie board never disappoints but the entire menu offers something for everyone! Highly recommended!!
I had the Golden Beet Salad and there was maybe one small beet piece in the salad...not what I expected!
We asked for our burgers to be cooked medium and they came out well done. 2 people wanted cooked onions and 2 said no onions. The 2 who said no got raw onions and only one received cooked onions. It was very busy but the waiter did not come back and ask how everything was nor did he offer us a 2nd drink until our food was eaten. No water refills either. Disappointed
Stopped in for a casual dinner and was blown away by the quality of the food and service. Food was outstanding. I had a Steak and Brussels Sprouts (which are my favorite anywhere). My wife had the Salmon, which she said was the best she’s had in Charlotte. Service was efficient, effective and super friendly . . . All of which made for a wonderful meal out.
Restaurant is part of a high end grocery. Good outdoor seating and interesting bar. I like the ambience, but some may find it a bit busy.
Really great spot! Highly recommend Reid’s!
An amazing evening due to Stephen’s attentive service, excellent MAhi-Mahi and flatbread entrees, and Ellie Morgan as entertainment.
The food was excellent and you can pay retail for wine instead of 2x so this should be a must on your dining out list!
The quality of the food was on the mark. The Lobster Roll was a real treat at an appropriate price.
Food was AMAZING!
Server was great but major issue with getting our food. Were seated at our reservation time 8:00, ordered cheese biscuits which only showed up 30 minutes later after we inquired about them, we're told kitchen was backed up. Told waitress if our food would be ready in bout 5 minutes we'd take it to go, she checked & said it would not be ready so we cancelled our order. They did comp the biscuits & we paid for our drinks. My husband spoke with " manager" ( which he's NEVER done before) about the kitchen issue. Mgr was polite but gave us a business card & said we should call someone else about the problem & possible comp of some kind. Usually like to give a place a few trys cause everyone can have a bad day but that was extreme.
We had reservations for 6:30 PM and were seated immediately seated. Our order was taken within 10 minutes - 4 sandwiches. Then the problem occurred. One and one half hours (1 and 1/2)passed before we received our food. Never again will I dine at Reid's.
I brought out-of-town guests for dinner. I ordered the mahi mahi; the fish had no flavor outside of the char from the grill. It was my first visit, so I was a little disappointed. The Brussels sprouts were good though.
Reids has been a favorite local restaurant for my wife and I. They treat us like family and the food is wonderful. I am going to make a point of taking my business clients there for lunch too.
The server was rude, and the food was good but nothing amazing. The atmosphere is nice and it’s clean.
Reid's is great neighborhood type restaurant in middle of high end grocery and mall. They did a nice job accomodating our seating requirements despite being busy.
Good food and variety and reasonably priced. Casual atmosphere
Excellent service! Excellent food!
We live ~ 2 hours away so only occasionally. We were there for Father's Day and wanted to have lunch; our reservation time was still during brunch (buffet only). The staff was very accommodating, seated us and provided drinks until we could place an order from the menu.
We shared the lovely berry salad (they plated it for us in the kitchen) and my husband had the grilled salmon with couscous which he enjoyed very much. I had one of the burgers which was very good as well.
A pleasant surprises. Have been to Reid's many times but was unaware of the brunch. Great array of options from classics like eggs benedict to traditional lunch options, such as fried chicken, salmon and prime rib and an omelet station. Good quality and excellent service.
Reid's is a warm, comfortable hangout with very good food and great drinks. I tried the Kentucky Mule and loved it. My wife had a red blend, which was also delicious. Enjoyed dining on the patio with live guitar music. All in all, a great, casual, Saturday night out.
Always incredible service and food- Gethan was an exceptional waiter and we had a wonderful evening dining at Reid’s! The live music was lovely and the effort that’s been made to extend outdoor seating almost year round is amazing!! Lots of shade- And although weather was exceptionally mild this evening, they have cool mist fans for hotter temps.
Great variety of buffet food. More than one could possibly partake of.
Really enjoyed this visit to Reid’s - great, well-prepares food and outstanding service
My sister and I were at South Park shopping on a Friday afternoon and decided to get dinner. We both thought of Reid's at the same time because we have eaten there several times both lunch and dinner although it had been awhile. I had the tilefish special and she had the veg flatbread. Both were outstanding in taste and presentation ... Reid's is also a great place to pick something up to take home or to give as a hostess gift...All the staff were professional and pleasant...Thanks, Reid's Fine Foods!
Friends and I went on Tuesday night for 1/2 price burgers. I can honestly say that was one of the best burgers i’ve Had in a long time and the truffle fries were fantastic! Our server was very good as well. I’ll definitely be back!
I took by two teenage daughters to Reid's for a nice dinner before I headed out of town for a week. Everything was going well, until they finished their salads and I was still working on mine. Our waitress cleared the table while I was still eating. She asked if we needed anything else and we told her no. The next time I know she's handing me the bill and I'm still eating! That was very rude. We felt rushed and it was awkward. With tip, our dinner was $77 - for three salads with protein, one draft beer and one root beer. Pricey...but I can do the math. We knew that when we saw the menu. I just wish that the waitress would have allowed me to finish my meal before literally handing me the bill. Was - and still am - disappointed. I shared this story with some co-workers and they agree with my assessment and understand why I was upset.
My wife and I look forward to dining at Reids allot! Great service from friendly servers together with very good food!
Our first time dining for Sunday brunch. We had heard from our friends how WONDERFUL the Brunch was... and it truly was! Food was very delicious and our waiter was friendly and informative! We will surely return many more times, I’m sure!
It's a great place to come and dine. Either inside or outside on the patio, the food is excellent and the staff never disappoints.
