This place is definitely worth visiting as we will be back again shortly. Everything was great.
Great food and service. Thanks to Yesenia for taking great care of us. We missed Chef Dave last night. Hopefully next time he will stop by our table.
Good food, service some things to improve is presentation of drinks(glassware).
We have eaten at this restaurant a number of times and we have never had a bad meal. The beef short ribs are to die for. Great sevice and the prices are very reasonable.
We enjoyed everything except the gnocchi--would not recommend it. Still noisy!
So worth it for the food and service!
Our new favorite upscale eatery. Met the chef/owner and his wife. Nice folks. They run a great place with spectacular food
The food was amazing - both our small plates and entrees. Our server Elizabeth was very attentive and polite. Our waters were constantly full and plates cleared to make room on the table for each course. The ambiance was lovely and chairs were cushioned and very comfortable. We were seated at a table next to a large window and despite the freezing temps outside there was a heavy drape helping to insulate and adding to the ambiance.
Really cool ambience for a NW suburban restaurant. Great for a date night or small group. Bar area is not large, but bartender was friendly and the bar itself (cut wood bar top) is really cool. We loved the food. Husband had the bone marrow appetizer, and we split mussels. Husband's ribeye was swimming in sauce (which seemed a little heavy handed). My meatloaf special was enough for 2 meals. We enjoyed cheesecake for dessert, but the boozy shake was too boozy for us (WOW!). It made us laugh, though! Service was great once we got seated. (We had to wait 20+ minutes despite a reservation.)
The food was top notch. We shared a smoked trout dip, then my husband had the steak with the OMG butter and I had the filet meatballs (don't get these as an app unless you have at least 4 people to share them)! Agnes was wonderful - ask to be at her table if you can. We'll be back!
Everything was very good. Prices were high but not too excessive. Was a bit louder in there than I would want for how expensive it was.
What a fantastic restaurant! We went for our anniversary and every moment of the meal was exquisite! The waiter was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. The food was delicious!
Creative and very tasty menu as well as featured cocktails. Service was stellar. Make reservations as it is busy, even on a weekday. Not inexpensive, but locally sourced, fresh and the choices abound
Excellent food with highly educated wait staff !!!
I cannot stress enough what a fantastic restaurant this is! After four visits we cannot wait to go back and order everything we haven’t yet tried. The kitchen is on point with complex and delicious plates, both big and small. I highly recommend everything we’ve eaten... including bacon-wrapped dates, “hot rock” seared steak, pecan-crusted walleye, cioppino, short rib, plus interesting and tasty cocktails! The service is lovely, the decor is warm and inviting (LOVE the soft cloth napkins) and you will instantly fall in love with the addictive lavash bread basket.
Love this Barrington gem! Since it is always busy, I would say many others feel the same way too!
Food was terrific - service a little slow. Place was packed. Seemed to tilt less hipster, more seasoned! We'll be back.
Our new go to place for an outstanding meal experience. Been there 7 or 8 times so far and it never disappoints. Have introduced several friends and relatives and everyone loves it.
Food was exceptional! Very knowledgeable server. Only downfall was restaurant was very loud.
Excellent food, mostly locally sourced. It was fairly quiet for our early evening dinner, but moderate noise level as we were leaving.
Region was great. I took my girlfriend here for her birthday and we both loved it!
Ambience, food and service were all lovely. Looking forward to coming back. Thank you!
Excellent food and excellent service. Bacon wrapped dates were to die for!! Also highly suggest the corn creme brûlée. Looking forward to returning
Kudos to the owners and service people at Region! We received gift cards at the end of our meal because the management noticed an unusual smell in the room in which we dined. I thought it might be mothballs since weather had taken a turn. We had not complained so I consider this above and beyond!! We will always return!!
We love the food and the service! Had a fantastic steak and monkfish. I love that the Risotto has been added to the menu!
Outstanding food, drinks, and service. Can’t wait to get back there.
Our first (but not last) visit to Regions was outstanding!
From the bacon wrapped dates to the English Sticky Toffee Pudding, everything was fresh and prepared perfectly.
Try the Boursin cheese stuffed filet Mignon! Or the walleye if you’re in a pescatarian mood!
Katie, our server was knowledgeable, timely and professional.
The entire evening was a pleasant culinary experience, they we will repeat.
The food was unbelievable. It was so difficult to choose, but everything we ate was delicious. Our server, Martina, fantastic and really helpful with her recommendations. She brought a taste of a new wine they had just gotten over to us to try, and it was so good we got a bottle. Then she was spot on with the food recommendations. She was so outgoing and fun that we looked forward to talking with her whenever she stopped by. For appetizers, we had cheese stuffed meatballs which melted in your mouth and the mussels. Both were good, but the meatballs were better. We shared a boursin stuffed filet and the lobster roll for dinner. Filet was better by far. Lobster roll was served hot and was good, but I missed the combination of flavors of a typical cold lobster roll. Overall, really delicious, and we can't wait to go back!
Great restaurant, Food - Service - Ambiance - lively patrons , enjoying their evening out.
yES, VERY INTERESTING MENU, WE WILL DEFINITELY GO BACK
Dave does such a great job with his food and I love the new menu additions.
My daughter was visiting from Denver and she was excited to go back to Region. We had a wonderful dinner the first time so she & I were excited to go back. We were not disappointed.
We enjoyed our evening at Region. The food was very nicely prepared and presented. Our server, Katie, was very good. The butternut squash soup on the special menu was amazing. I’m so over butternut squash soup because it’s usually, too heavy or too sweet. Katie recommended we give their’s a try. Region’s version was made with Thai red curry and coconut milk. It was fantastic. Light and spicy. Just perfect. The cassoulet was interesting, we love the Dordogne and have had dozens of different cassoulet while there...it usually has some form of white beans but Region’s doesn’t have beans. The duck confit, pork belly and sausage were very good and the blackberries added a nice acidic bite, to cut the fat. We also had bang bang cauliflower and crab cakes. Both good. We’ll be back to try other items that sounded interesting..particularly the seafood options. The dining room is very nice. Easy to have a conversation. It’s nice to have a solid, high quality restaurant in Barrington.
Service was good. Food was not great this time around. Hated our table. Stuffed in a corner at a tiny table. Not comfortable at all.
Thank you for taking time to review your dining experience from October 19. It breaks our hearts to hear that you did not enjoy your food or your table. I would love to find out more details and address the issues moving forward. Please call me at your convenience. (847) 833-5537 -Jillian Perlick
The food was exceptional as was the service. The duck cassoulet and lamb shank were superbly prepared and the goat cheese and beet salad a perfect starter. We will definitely return to Region!
The food and the service was fantastic. The server was very well versed in the menu and made recommendations that were outstanding. This is our second time here and this time we brought some people additional family with us to enjoy the evening. Food never disappoints. Thank you!
Truly was disappointed in this restaurant. I’ve been in this building many times before under owners, but the new owner did not take lighting or ambiance into consideration. I personally found the menu overdone and few items the had me wanting to order. I finally ordered the rib eye, it was really large and really far from great. It was chilly and the blue cheese crust was tasteless. There was a token scoop of mashed potatoes and a dollop of spinach, my husband has the walleye which he thought was good.
We also had the goat cheese cheese balls .., they were not very hot and quite large however the sauce served along side was very good.
We opted out of the desert... most contained bourbon or liquor and the one the recommended was a sticky pudding which broth of us care for.
It’s unlikely we will return for another meal.
Erica our server was super. Friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The pork chops were perfect and the Hot Rock appetizer was fun but a bit skimpy on the meat.
All in all this place is great
Great food and service. Thanks to Nicole for once again taking great care of us.
Very good food, excellent service. Filet mignon meatloaf - wow, I'll be back.
Great time, food and experience
