Located just a few meters from the Duomo in Florence, Regina Bistecca is a restaurant dedicated to the true “bistecca alla fiorentina” and traditional Florentine food culture.
For over 140 years the same address has been the location for the antiquarian bookseller Gonnelli, which has been in the same family for four generations and has now relocated.
Although nowadays offering something different, the objective was to preserve and maintain the unique atmosphere of a historical place in which to offer a gratifying experience merging food, art, and history.

Great ambiance and location but not mind blowing steak experience and the steak itself could've had more flavor.

The food was generally quite good, and we especially enjoyed the Florentine steak. We had a reservation for four people, including another couple. When we arrived, the restaurant wasn’t very busy, yet we were seated at an inconvenient table in the middle of the dining hall. We initially assumed it was due to other reservations, but several larger tables remained empty throughout our meal. Another surprising moment was when the food was served before we had even placed our wine order. It gave the impression that we were being rushed through the meal. Unfortunately, the wine recommendation we received was not very helpful either, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, while the food was excellent, the service could be improved to better match the quality of the cuisine.

Lovely steak house with impeccable, attentive staff and good food. It's the kind of place you'd go to for a special occasion in the states. We got dressed up but people were there in shorts.

We had a wonderful experience at Regina Bistecca. The atmosphere was warm, elegant, and full of character—perfect for an evening out in Florence. The service was impeccable from start to finish: attentive, friendly, and professional without ever feeling rushed. The wine selection was excellent, with thoughtful recommendations from the staff to pair perfectly with the meal. Of course, the star of the show was the bistecca itself—cooked to perfection, tender, and full of flavor. A memorable dining experience in every way. Highly recommended!

A superb restaurant in a beautiful building. The food was exceptional, the staff attentive, informative and very pleasant. We would thoroughly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Florence who is looking for an exceptional experience.

Fair at best, the bartenders were great the wait staff was fair and the food was about fair. Certainly not what I had hoped for.

We had an amazing experience, food was delicious and service was great. We had mentioned we were celebrating a birthday and unfortunately it was not acknowledge. However would definitely dine there again. Thank you for a wonderful time.
