Bringing some LA vibes to the northeast. REGARDS draws inspiration from the diverse food culture of Los Angeles. We highlight flavor profiles from Japan and Mexico with the freshest of Maine produce and products.

The menu at REGARDS has bright, zippy ceviches and crudos, rich tamales, plump Argentinian shrimp tacos, along with mezcal cured hamachi collars, crab rice and grilled cabbage with caesar.

Clarified lime margaritas with eucalyptus or our gin and sotol martinis with hibiscus pair with our adventurous menu. We pour natural wine and have a large selection of curated mezcals and tequilas.

A place for us and for you. Might not make sense, but it sure is delicious. Across the street from Reny's. Nearby Maine College of Art, Portland Stage Company, State Theatre, Empire Comedy Club and Blue Jazz Club.

REGARDS is an amazing restaurant with unique dishes that I have never seen before. Where else can you get hamachi collar? Everything we ordered, from the burrata with salsa verde and country bread to the tamale with macadamia mole was balanced, delicious, and special. I wish I had more time in Portland to eat there again. The staff is also very friendly and knowledgeable. I let them know that my wife was vegetarian when making the reservation and the hostess noted all the dishes that were vegetarian and what could be modified. A very beautiful place. I'm grateful that I knew about it

We were seated right away, it’s a very cozy place. After being served water, we were then ignored for 45 minutes. we left to eat somewhere else

Lori - I am so terribly sorry this happened to you. My sincere apologies in our failure here. I feel absolutely terrible that you had this experience. If you would come back in and dine on us for 2, I would like to book a reservation for you, and offer this to make up for what should have been a fun night that we truly dropped the ball on. I do not know what happened here, and will have to look over our practices and steps of service because this is a failure on our part. Always perfect. I had a tasty orange wine (after tasting a couple with guidance behind the bar) I had the shrimp taco that I dream of ever since I had my 1st one at Regards. I was worried because this one was tempura’d but of course it was light and tasty and delicious. I cannot wait to come back again (in fall/winter) when it is not so crazy busy in Portland and on the road to Portland

Went in not knowing what to expect with a party of six. Accommodated very nicely in rear, “semi private” table. Recommendations for wine and mix of small plates was excellent. Service very good. Chef and crew just nailed it!! Hadn’t heard of it before last evening. We will be back!

Scallop ceviche was quite tasty, however the hamachi neck was quite bland, and the octopus, while tender, just tasted like anything else that was charred on a grill.
