Reflect Bistro inside Cambria Suites
Rated #1 In Traverse City by Trip Advisor.
We made a reservation for New Years eve. The place was packed. The man at the reservations desk was working hard to move some people "that had taken up residence" at the table. He finally gave up and moved some chairs with backs to a high top table for us. The server was great too. We will go back.
A wonderful small and hidden gem with amazing food.
Wonderful food and atmosphere. Will definitely return.
They tried hard to be a real restaurant, but it is just a hotel eatery.
The Thanksgiving buffet was amazing. So many wonderful choices, it wasn't possible to try everything!
Food for Thanksgiving banquet was delicious. Service was outstanding. Tables were a bit too close together.
We come for the shrimp! This is our third year at Reflect bistro. I really can’t think of any way I would improve it. Not against families with kids but the lack of large noisy families makes the dinner much more enjoyable.
The service is very attentive and the food is creative and seasonal and excellent quality. Portions are huge (plan accordingly).
Very clean, nicely decorated interior. It was a little confusing finding the entrance, it's tucked behind the hotel through a gate. We were greeted immediately and seated (we had reservations). We brought our 3 kids (10-15) with. We enjoyed the Reuben, seafood potpie, chicken sandwich, whitefish cake, and kids burger. All the food was amazing. But due to the prices (talking about $20/plate)... I wouldn't take my family here again. It's a perfect restaurant for a date night though. Our waitress, Katy, took great care of us and very helpful with the kids. She took them on an 'ice cream outing' to pick their small cartons of Moomers ice cream for dessert. Kids thought it was awesome! My husband and I split the carrot cake. It was divine and HUGE. We ate half at the restaurant and took half home for the next day it was that big!
We had a large group. Food and service were amazing. The chef visited the table to accommodate someone who is vegan as none were listed on the menu. All dishes were fantastic and the vegan dish was very much liked and impressive as well. Will certainly return at our next visit to Traverse City.
Best breakfast in Traverse City!
Great happy hour. Wines by glass 20% off and special happy hour menu with very reasonable prices. We stayed with that menu and had the sliders (very good) and the walleye chips (good). Waitress was pleasant and efficient. Place had nice decor and a good vibe. Would definitely come back.
Food was amazing. Would definitely visit again.
Food was out of this world, I had seafood pot pie, which had loads of seafood! Highly recommend!
Reflect Bistro located off the lobby of Cambria Suites hotel was a very good experience. Very convenient since we were staying at the hotel. Made reservations which is recommended as seating is limited. Selected Reflect given the #1 restaurant score in Trip Advisor. Most of the items ordered were excellent along with the service. Edward Island raw oysters fresh, ice chilled very nice. Some of the best raw oysters I've enjoyed and that is saying a lot having lived many years and enjoying oysters in New Orleans. Cream soup and Ceasar Salad was very good along with the fried breaded perch. I ordered the chicken dish that was overcooked so I ate more of my wifes perch dinner. Portions are oversized so split the order for better total value. Beefeater Martini that was good but has asked for dry and could really taste too much vermouth. Overall would recommend the restaurant. Our server was very knowledgeable and excellent.
The food and service were both excellent. We were given a very nice table for two. The northern trio and perch were both generous and excellent. It is a small restaurant so most definitely make a reservation.
It was fantastic. I have a shellfish allergy and the server ensured that all would be okay. The food was outstanding and the service was delightful
Very nice restaurant inside your own hotel. Little on the expensive side but worth not having to leave the hotel
Heard the food was good to very good and found this to be true.
Fun! Always a good time there
This was supposed to be the #1 restaurant in Traverse City we were very disappointed Service was good, but food was average at best We both had soup lobster bisque and French onion Both were very good That was the end of very good My husband had to ask for bread after 10 minutes, it arrived stale and inedible. Salad was wilted. Seafood pastry was mostly potatoes. Dessert was strange. We are not picky eaters but at those prices, food should be very good.
Happy good food served hot. Large portions too much. Pleasant staff.
The food and service was excellent. I would have liked for the dining area to be less open to the lobby and bar area as it was quite noisy.
Service was personable. My review on TripAdvisor was not published, which is definitely why they have a 5star rating (no bad ratings allowed if you pay for premium service). That is SO disappointing as I thought Tripadvisor was a reputable sight and the direct reason we chose this restaurant for dinner. Lobster Bisque was good. Fried calamari was perhaps from a box in the freezer section of your local grocery, but the sauce was very good. The Linguine Fruit de Mer was terrible. Calamari again (placed order before appetizer delivered) was from a frozen box and the sea scallops were sliced into 1/8" rounds, which I have never seen. This was just terrible and thankfully the waitress comped the entree. So misleading when negative reviews are removed from web pages.
Food never disappoints. The servers are always polite and attentive. We recommend this restaurant to all of our friends and out of town guests.
I said I would recommend a friend, that is because maybe the chef had a bad cut of meat or wasn't in a good mood. The staff was very attentive, which is always a plus!! I wasn't crazy about where they sat us, being this is a hotel the elevators are within feet of the dining area, makes for a bit of commotion, especially if you have whining kids, or for that matter adults!!
Next time I am in the area, doubt this would be my first place since TC has so many other nice places to eat.... I went based on positive reviews, which I know you can't always trust.
Reflect Bistro is located in a resort hotel. The location is pleasant and tables are reasonably spaced. The table settings are very good with white table cloths. Not common in a lot of Northern Michigan restaurants.
The food was first rate in all respects.
Our servers were very good but seemed to be over-loaded. As a result, the service was slower than expected. Having said that, virtually every business and restaurant we came across during our 3-day visit to Traverse City had hiring signs in their windows. Clearly there is a shortage of available workers so I'll cut them some slack.
This restaurant is amazing! Libby was the best server. You MUST try the crab dip. You will not be disappointed. Lobster bisque is to die for. So fresh and delicious. I wish we had this kind of food and service at our local restaurants.
Amazing, attentive service from Diahn! She was familiar with the entire menu and able to provide more detail than the menu provided. We were extremely happy with our selections (Apple Beet Salad and the Northern Trio of whitefish, smelt, and walleye). The portions were very generous and we left with very satisfied and very full tummies (we didn’t want to leave a single morsel behind)!
We sat outside because the restaurant was small, and the only table they had for two was by the kitchen door as they were expecting a large party that took up many of the tables. Outside the courtyard faces the parking lot so it’s not beautiful but the weather was beautiful so we chose to sit there. Well our server was fabulous and nice our complaint was that another party of four had finished dinner and the dirty table was left for a long time for us to look at. We also had to rebalance her table because the legs weren’t working correctly and there were Divet in the ground and the serving staff seem to know about this problem but yet they didn’t fix it before we sat down. The food was OK expensive for what we had. My husband ordered pasta and it was swimming in the sauce.
Really good food! Wine list needs work there were way too many Michigan wines which were inferior to the menu. Great food and Michigan wine have nothing in common, most of the wines on the reserve list were out of stock.
Food was exceptional!!
Was a little concerned pulling up to lower level hotel for this restaurant but my apprehension was misguided as the food and service were in line with the positive reviews. Great and friendly staff, nice variety in menu and very good food.
We're ate many fine meals during our week in TC, but Reflect outshined them all. We took Lindsay's recommendation to try the calamari, which left so many amazing flavors in our mouths. We also enjoyed the asparagus soup and sesame hoisin boneless wings.
This bistro has an amazing variety of offerings. Completely exceeded my expectations!
Great meal and service. They made a quick modification for my wife and the presentation, taste and service was excellent. Large portions and great value for the quality and creativity. Bravo.
The food at Reflect Bistro was great. It was quite pricey, but good. Service was good as well. I wanted to love the restaurant, but the setting is a pretty big detractor. There is a huge glass wall, but the view out of the window left much to be desired. Also, the hotel elevators are on one end of the dining room, so hotel guests were coming and going with their luggage. At one point during dinner a hotel worker emerged from the elevator pushing a bed on wheels. It made me feel like I was in a lobby of a hotel, not in a high-priced restaurant. I believe both issues could be fixed. The view out of the window - just get someone to design with plants and trees out there to improve the view. The placement of the elevators is much trickier, of course, but if they opened the other direction, the diners would believe themselves to be in a much nicer restaurant and one that warranted the prices of the food.
We had a wonderful experience and the staff and food was fabulous, we will come back again:)
Food was just ok. Very nice menu offerings but very bland in taste of our selections. Perhaps they need stronger expertise in the kitchen? Our waiter AJ was very pleasant and professional.
Creative menu. Dishes well prepared and presented. Wonderful service. The calamari appetizer is not to be missed. The shrimp appetizer, with grapefruit wedges and fig honey is a delicious surprise.
Fruit de Mer on squid ink fettucine in a spicy clam sauce, with shrimp, scallops and calamari outstanding.
Not busy at all, probably partially because of its location in the Cambria Suites.
