Overpriced. Everything a la Carte. Entrees were small. Chicken dry (overcooked), risotto good taste but toothsome, red pepper coulee far too sweet and weird electric pink. Side of asparagus disgusting. Cut into one-inch pieces, mostly stem with a few tips, greasy, with a ton of garlic and zero Parmesan. At night, cannot see ocean, at least not when cool and windows closed. There were only four tables of patrons in the whole restaurant. Decor is nice. Service was good. Would not return because food a very poor value and nowhere near exceptional.

So sorry to hear that your experience fell short of expectations! As the small locally owned business, we take all the reviews very seriously. We have already modified our chicken dish, thank you for your feedback! We actually don't have anything a la Carte on our menu as all entrees come with creatively plated sides and sauces, and everything is prepared to order from scratch by our chefs. It does get dark earlier and the best time to experience the beautiful sunset views are around 5:30pm. Again, thank you for your feedback, we are working on improving on all aspects of our service and your review helps us to improve!

Jillian was a lovely server very attentive and accommodating. She made wonderful suggestions and we all had a nice experience. We were celebrating and the sparklers were so sweet in the desert. We will return.

We went mid afternoon, in hopes of dining with a view. They had a private party that was taking the upstairs room. Anyway, we couldn't figure out who was going to wait on us and they finally settled in and we had great service. I loved the idea of conch and crab hush puppies. Think they'd be better as crab only. The conch was rubbery. It happens. We moved on the the lobster bisque...AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS! We wanted more but had the fish tacos coming. They were very good. Overall, and since it was our first experience, we liked it. We hope to go back soon and experience the upstairs dining and view.

Our waiter was replaced after we ordered drinks. 3 of our 4 drinks eventually came. We had three different people taking our orders and bringing our food. It was a mess.

Chicken dinner tasted like unseasoned boiled chicken with fake grill marks. Ordered a glass of wine but she brought a bottle. Out of French beans then more magically appeared. She took our risotto to box it and never brought it back. Wouldn't go back.

I would like to let you know that you had in fact ordered the wine that is sold by bottle only for the table to split. We are sorry that the chicken was not prepared to your liking, and we have removed it from your bill completely. The server was able to get the last order of French beans for that evening for your table even though it was already marked as unavailable in the system. The general manager stopped by your table few times throughout the dinner to make sure everything was great and even went out of her way to accommodate your request to change the party size for expense purposes. Thank you again for your feedback!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at the Refinery. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. The food was very good. There was a minor issue with a missing side, which was not a big deal to us, but they went out of their way to make it right. Definitely recommend.

Everything was amazing! We brave the winds and still sat in the ocean view since that was our reservation. Thankfully the employees was so nice to ensure that the lamp heater was working and we were comfortable the whole evening. The food was amazing! We got corn chowder, lobster bisque and my favorite the pretzel with beer cheese! It was out of this world! And then the dinner. Out friend got filet mignon and the husband got the scallop and I had the bistro filet with the Parmesan risotto and that was to die for! Desserts was good too! We had the key lime pie and the chocolate brownie. We will definitely be back here especially Clare our server was marvelous! She kept us entertained the whole night and made sure we are well taken care of!

Hostess was fine, server wasn’t great. Outdoor experience wasn’t what I expected from looking at reviews and photos. Rude neighboring guests made it worse. Menu is over priced. Your just paying for the beach front atmosphere which isn’t stellar. Had a glass of wine in a plastic cup and left.

The view of the beach was great, but our Server Becky made the night, she was efficient, thoughtful and anticipatory. The Crab Cake was the best I’ve had since Oceanside, Oregon, two years ago!!!

The fine dining area upstairs at The Refinery was very pleasant and inviting. They had the windows open and the evening sea breeze was wonderful! Two of our party got the salmon and loved their entree. One plant based eater got the plant based scallops. She liked it, but the portion was small for the price of a vegetable dish ($32). One person got a hearty salad and seemed to enjoy it. The last of our party of 5 got the lobster bisque. She didn’t care for her choice—she said it didn’t taste like any lobster bisque she had enjoyed before. There were several sides for her to eat that helped her be satisfied. Overall a good experience for our group. We will be back!

Awful experience. Server paid 0 attention to us. Food took over 45 mins to come out. Asked for bread since food was taking so long Bread never came out. Food came out freezing cold. Wasn’t busy at all, so 0 excuse. Walked out spending nearly $200 for nothing. My birthday was absolutely ruined by this establishment. You all should be embarrassed. $50 gift card compensation is an absolute joke. You all need to pride yourselves on being better. Do better.

Sunday Funday : Brunch with a view. When I made brunch reservations I had no idea that the U.S. Navy Blue Angels would be flying over Jacksonville Beach for a final performance at the 2023 Sea and Sky Air Show. Great food & awesome view!

The Refinery was a great place to eat on the beach. The enclosed rooftop was nice. The food could have been a little better. The staff was supposed to be sharing tables, but the 2nd waiter was not assisting behind the bar, nor was he checking on any other tables except his own.

We walked in for lunch and sat outside the day before and we enjoyed it so much that we booked dinner the following evening. For dinner we were seated upstairs with a view of the ocean. Creative dishes and our waitress was very helpful in making suggestions for our dinner, her suggestions were spot on! Drinks were excellent! Will eat there again next time we're in Jax Beach!

The service was excellent. The Crab Cake appetizer was one of the best we've ever had, and we've had many! The Sea Bass was very good and my Scallops were cooked perfectly, but unfortunately, along with the mashed potatoes it was just too salty for my taste, but not so bad I couldn't eat them. The bread service was cold, hard rolls???? At this beautiful place not sure why they would serve those. It is expensive, but overall we had a good experience.

We have dined here several times. After this, I believe we will take a break. Service was really poor. Repeatedly, we had to request things. Orders were brought out incorrectly, the server was unsure of items. When speaking to the manager, he seemed as if he was unconcerned. It’s a shame. The food was still good.

Second time here. Had a great experience again. This location is prime in Jax Beach, and it’s so great to have a reliable place here we can enjoy coming back to. Recommend marketing more, especially the live music space down stairs. Need more of this in Jax Beach!

We had reservations for 5:00 PM. Appears that conflicts with staff arrival and set-up for the evening. It was somewhat uncomfortable to be asked twice about our reservations and time. If I refer someone I will suggest reservations after 6:00 PM. Our server was great; however, apparently the person who was supposed to escort us upstairs was unavailable, so, we came up by ourselves. It was almost as if we had done something wrong. (smile).

Underwhelming food and painfully slow service. The tuna had obviously been of the frozen variety. The truffled mashed potatoes looked like porridge plopped on a small plate. We had to ask for water 3 times before it arrived, after the appetizer. There are numerous other restaurants to spend your money at that are far superior. (North Beach Fish Camp, Marker 32, Eleventh Street South)
