   The ambiance was great. We had brunch on the Oceanside and it was great. Our waitress Claire was attentive, courteous and just a breathe of fresh air. I will definitely be going back

   I recently dined at Refinery with high expectations for a fine dining experience, but unfortunately, several aspects fell short. Upon arrival, there was no hostess at the front, leading to an unexpected 10-minute wait before being acknowledged. The upstairs dining area, designated for fine dining, lacked the refined ambiance typically associated with such establishments. The outdoor patio appeared unkempt, detracting from the overall atmosphere. Even though the bartender was personable her approach came across as overly assertive. The waitstaff, though courteous, did not exhibit the level of professionalism and attentiveness expected in a fine dining setting. The menu offered limited options. The dishes served were of high quality; however, the portion sizes were notably small, especially considering the premium pricing and with the descriptions it was not clear if it was an al a carte menu. Given the high costs associated with dining here, the experience did not meet the standards one would anticipate. While there were some positive elements, the combination of service lapses, ambiance issues, and portion sizes makes it challenging to recommend this restaurant for those seeking a true fine dining experience.

   We had a fantastic experience at the Refinery while celebrating our anniversary! Patrick was exceptional; he was right on top of everything, we never waited for anything all night. We had the smoked salmon bites and shrimp cocktail for apps, delish. I had the flounder and husband had the tuna. Also, brussel sprouts, salads and soup. Our friends ordered the scallops and salmon and everyone raved about the dinner! My wine was yummy too! Will definitely go back for a special occasion because the view is absolutely stunning right on the ocean, Perfect!!

   I had the best salmon ever at the fine dining restaurant. The basil pistachio crust was to die for! The service and ocean views were amazing! Just a warning…the red sangria was strong! I highly recommend it there.

   Our server Allison made the experience, she was absolutely fantastic! The food overall was tasty but the size of the lobster tail with the surf and turf was super tiny so that was a bummer. We’d definitely go back though!

   Manager and hostess were acting like our presence was such an inconvenience. The waiter got sat with a larger table and decided we were no longer important, runners and bartenders brought food and drink and no follow up with refills or if we needed anything. Disappointing service for the price point for sure.

   We chose the upstairs seating for the view of the ocean. Great menu and great food and great atmosphere. Staff was attentive but not smothering. Really pleasant dining experience, I would recommend to anyone.

   After waiting 35 minutes fie our reservation, yes I understand it was Easter, we were sat at a beautiful table overlooking the ocean. I am very aware that tables don’t leave as they are supposed to and turning tables is an art, I just don’t expect to have to give a credit card to hold a reservation in case I’m late or don’t show and then have to wait 35 minutes without acknowledgment of the wait. When brunch was advertised on open table it made no mention of a buffet. The sample menu on open table was light, creative and innovative. The buffet was tucked in a corner with a poor traffic flow. The salad was mixed greens and dressing that was out, no added items for the salad, the pasta dish was cold, the salmon however cold, was very flavorful and moist. The waffles were amazing and very flavorful. The turkey sausage, bacon, and sausage patties were cold, the potatoes were from a bag, the cheese grits were stuck to the side of the serving container. The ham was the only meat on the carving station and the person who was making the omelets was also serving the ham. The omelet station was fine, nothing unique or spectacular. It was frankly the only hot item on the buffet. The dessert platter was next to the salad and looked like the plastic cover from the grocery store was removed hours ago. The servers did their best to bus the tables and fill drinks however there was little serving happening. I have heard amazing things about the Refinery from people who have hosted parties and enjoyed dinners. This experience was none of what I hoped or expected. Again I understand it’s a holiday and there are too many spectacular options that I could have chosen to have gotten the meal I was given.

Just to clarify, we offer a buffet style brunch every Sundays, and this is mentioned in the reservation details. Our team worked hard to create a welcoming, affordable holiday brunch at $31.95 per person, especially for the many large groups joining us after church. We understand it may not have felt like a traditional holiday dinner, and we sincerely apologize if the offerings didn’t match what you were expecting.
