Service was great - Angelo
Food was excellent
It was great night
The restaurant is hard to get to. The parking is across the street. Too many banquettes. Food mediocre, Three of us ordered chilean sea bass and we all got different sizes. The 'grill' marks on the fish looked like branding and we suspected the fish had been frozen. The salmon was not edible. The only good thing was the onion soup. Sorry. We will not be returning
food was just OK and oversalted. not going to hurry back.
Service was inconsistent , some items were fair value others outrageously expensive. Some staff very nice while others outright rude. Would not go back.
The food was good, but there is no intimacy in the dining area. Felt as though we were part of the bar. I would recommend happy hour, or eating at the bar if that interests you.
Very good but baked potato was undercooked & cold. Portion sizes were not adequate. Drinks were good. The waiter Eric was awesome.
Food was excellent. Beautiful restaurant with wonderful service by our waiter Eric.
Great options for everyone from steak to sushi to the best sweet potato ever. Great looking space. We loved it. Parking is too far though.
the marguerita flatbread was hard as a rock and not very flavorfull.
Love the Refectory. Such a great addition to the Villanova campus. Keep up the great job. Great food and service; nice happy hour, good vibe.
First time there and really enjoyed it. It was a game day so the energy level was high but didn't take away from a great meal and great service.
Not worth the cost. Could have gone to WaWa for a better cheesesteak under the guise of a prime rib sandwich.
The only saving grace was Yusef our waiter and the blueberry cobbler.
Good but noisy. They did turn down music volume when asked to. Food was good but service was just okay. Got more attention from bus boys than waiter. Also quite pricey! We will go back again. Location is so convenient. Will give it another try.
6 of us all had a good dinner. I have to say, it’s a weird mix on the menu but everything was good and that is all that matters. Shrimp cocktail was expensive considering it’s 4 “medium” size shrimp. Pace was leisurely but it was packed so maybe that was why. Server didn’t want to honor our game day ticket (20% off) because we forgot to mention it when he rung us up, which was a bummer. We produced it right after and he wanted no parts of accommodating us.
Took our server a good bit to finally get to us for our 6:45 reservation. When he finally came we chatted and ordered two apps and a bottle of wine. Few minutes later he brought bread. No wine. Then our apps showed up(tuna poke and some sushi). Still no wine. 1/2 way through apps the wine shows up. It was a nice white but wasn’t chilled very well. He poured a ginormous amount of this unchilled white in our glasses then set the bottle of wine on the table. No chiller? Then every time he walked by he topped off our already super full glasses. It was ridiculous how full our glasses were. Entrees came and he pours rest in our glasses. After dinner he brought dessert menus and asked about dessert. So when I mentioned we wouldn’t be hanging dessert as it was my husbands birthday (which was noted on my OT reservation....) and we had cake at home he brought our coffee and the check. Now, he did comp the coffee since we couldn’t do bday dessert. But had I not mentioned it he wouldn’t have known even though it was on the rez.
Overall apps were the best. Entrees (crab cakes and mushroom pasta) just ok.
Need to work out server kinks
Fabulous food and service. Fun atmosphere. Highly recommend.
While there were two mistakes with our order, they fixed them quickly and then comped the meal without us asking.
I hope they stay busy because it's a great space for Nova to take off campus guests.
Great addition to the Main Line. Food and service were great. Highly recommend for lunch meeting. Noise level not too high and can have conversations without yelling.
We enjoyed a delicious meal with excellent service. We are already planning our next visit to the Refectory!
Food was ok but a bit pricey for what was served. Noise was terrible on a Saturday evening. Not in a hurry to return.
Really enjoyed it. Great atmosphere. Enough variety of food
Went for lunch with a group of friends. We had the spinach dip and each had a salad or poke bowl. Food was good, but service was SO SLOW. There were 6 other tables when we got there, so they were not packed. My friend was there the night before and said the same thing. SLOW service. Lunch was over 2 hours. Everything just took forever. Food was good, but I don’t think I will rush back.
Delicious and romantic 💕
Very good overall.
Great atmosphere and great food. Renee is fantastic
Had dinner there on a Thursday evening, seated at the back of the restaurant next to a large group - the noise level was unacceptable, we could barely hear each other. Food was ok, but not great, skinny fries were a disappointment since they turned into something that resembled eating toothpicks. Server was nice enough but again not great.
Overall an ok experience but I had higher expectations. I would also recommend improving the directional signage since we walked around campus for a while looking for it!
Food was inconsistent some appetizers and entrees were very good others very bland or average. Our server was very attentive and the atmosphere was great, lively with energy and well appointed....fun. For the money the food should be more consistent
First time here. Very nice ambiance and wait staff was very attentive. Great place for a business meeting. Prices are comparable to other similar spots. I had the Asian salad and was very good and a nice size portion.
The only glitch in this newer restaurant is the service, specifically the bar service. Both times I have been there, I have been sitting for so long that I had to literally flag down a bartender and ask if I could order a drink. The girls at the hostess station are also very clueless. The restaurant was mostly empty and my reserved table wasn't ready , 10 minutes after my reservation time. But there were 3 hostesses just standing there prior to that. Otherwise, atmosphere is nice, and can be festive when there's a Nova game. Food is mainline decent, not amazing.
We went to the Refectory prior to a Villanova Men’s basketball game. The place was crowded and energetic.
The Refectory offers a great happy hour. We went hoping to grab a few appetizers and cocktails on the happy hour menu but they no longer offer it on game day. That was a big disappointment.
Awesome happy hour food and drink menu. Regular menu is a bit pricey, but the happy hour appetizers are regular size portions for $5.00 each.
The food is delicious. Service was great and such a beautiful restaurant. Can’t wait to go back!
So much fun! Great food and atmosphere!;)
Great atmosphere. Staff was excellent. They are all friendly and committed to seeing to it that guests have an awesome experience. Food was outstanding.
I have been to The Refectory quite a few times.
I go with a group of friends before Villanova basketball games at The Pavilion. The service and atmosphere are great. The food is adequate.
It was our first experience at the Refectory and we were very pleased with our meal. We had the French Onion soup first, Brussels sprouts and the fried chicken sandwich with fries, Caesar salad with chicken and the Asian salad for our entrees.
The service was good and the restaurant is very comfortable. The decor is tasteful. We will go back to sample the other choices on the menu.
We had a good time and the food was pretty good
They didn’t have two of our choices though
Too loud. Food good but too salty. Our Server forgot special dessert I dropped off as surprise.
Unfortunately our salads preceded our appetizers followed by the bread so our table was stuffed with everything but our entrees simultaneously - some coordination between the servers and the kitchen would improve the diners experience and serving the diners in a timely yet not rushed manner would be wonderful.
We’ve been there many times and intend to return.
