Great food, service and atmosphere, a very enjoyable evening.
Two of our fellow guests didn’t receive their meal until everyone else at the table was finished eating. Kitchen needs work.
I'd recommend Reel because it's a nice place to eat outside by the water and listen to the music there each night. There's not much special about the food. It's not bad, but you can get better in the area. This place is for the ambiance more than the food.
Wonderful Brunch.. Food was delicious. Service was great and friendly. Will definitely go back
Food was disappointing 2 people smoking at the bar good location and entertainment
We were greeted instantly at the door and seated right away. Once we were at the table the bread and water arrived in an instant. That’s were the service stopped.
After about 15 minutes we were asked if we needed more water. We said yes and asked if they could have our waitress come as we had yet to place a drink and appetizer order. After another 10 minutes she arrived and stated she didn’t realize we were in her section with a dismissive, “my bad”.
We place our order and then waited another 10 minutes for drinks. Our appetizer never arrived and then the food was served with the entree and appetizer together.
The lobster roll was large, and tasty, but the bread was stale. The French fries were quite good but the baked clams were gummy and not at all appealing.
Our table was cleared quickly and then we waited another 10 minutes for the waitress. We asked for a dessert menu and she returned quite some time later. Their dessert offerings were sparse with only 4 options, none of which appealed to us.
There was a large crowd at the outside bar, but the restaurant wasn’t really busy. The service definitely didn’t match the crowd size.
On a side note, there was a perpetual long line for the 2 unisex bathrooms that required constant attention from a bouncer. Overall this was a poor experience for a very rare night out.
Food was excellent. Service not good. Waitress did not seem to have experience. Did not come to check to see if food ok. Food cold and over cooked. Not how ordered. Never came by to see if we wanted more drinks. No bread sticks brought to table although we asked 4 times
Great experience. Service was excellent. Good food great drinks.
4% charge to use a credit card?? Really????
The service was lousy. We waited 45 min to be seated even though we had a reservation and there were many empty tables. Even after we were seated, we had to ask for a server to come to the table. The hostess had an attitude. They need to turn up the a/c, it was very warm inside. The shrimp in the scampi was tasty but it had chunks of tomatoes in the rice, Ive never seen that in a scampi before. On the plus side, the drinks the female bartender made us were awesome!
Music too loud for late lunch crowd
Servers nice but no focused
Breads on table was solid enough to be drumsticks, they were exchanged for a basket of the same density.
Lobster bisque at the next table was returned.
Menus were sticky and at the bottom, and, in very small print , was a note that the prices were cash and 4% would be added to a credit card payment.
We left after paying for our drinks in cash
Great night at The Reel! We sat outside in the back...there was a fantastic band playing! Food and service were great!
Took 50 minutes to get 4 baked clams and they were cold when they arrived.fish in the fish and chips had about 7 scales.lobster roll was very chewy.terrible experience..
Outdoor area is great. Food is good. Band and DJ awesome.
One friend ordered tuna appetizer- "sorry, no tuna." Another requested no butter or dairy- entree came made in butter. Worst of all- once the check arrived it stated that the menu prices from which we ordered were actually cash-only prices. At NO POINT did ANYONE mention this before we ordered or while we ate. Very disingenuous. Not returning.
i made a reservation to be outside and they said we don’t have seating outside for 45 minutes. My husband doesn’t eat seafood so ordered skirt steak but they ran out so there wasn’t a steak sandwich either. He ended up with a burger. The fried calamari was good but very small portion. The real reason we went was to see Mystic but it rained so they cancelled. So wasn’t a great night and we told a manager and they did nothing to compensate
Food was good service was good the band was amazing we are comming back just for the music this was the first time we have heard radio daze unbelievable it really made the night
Like many other reviewers stated, food varies. For our recent visit, our service was excellent and food was fair. But they lost me as a customer due to their 4% credit card surcharge. What’s next? Charging for use of clean silverware? Accepting credit cards is a simple cost of doing business. Will never return.
A bit disappointing - Usually much better!
Not a lot of seafood options with the new menu.
The salad with steak has very little steak on it. We said something and the response from the kitchen was “it’s weighted”. Not too sure what that meant but it couldn’t have been more than 2 ounces.
We ordered lobster bisque. Not sure what they served us but it was unlike any other lobster bisque we had before. It was terrible! We waited 30 minutes to be seated and another 30 minutes to be served. Food was ok but not great. The waiter tried to make things right but he was not the chef. We were guessing the chef had the night off.
We went there for Mother's Day brunch. They gave me the wrong food at first. They let me keep it anyway since they were going to throw it out. Then my actual food didn't taste good and I didn't finish it. I preferred the wrong food. It also took almost 40 minutes for my son's hamburger to should up. Poor thing was starving. Also, when the check came we realized they put 4 items that we didn't order on it. They were for the table next to us and they took it off of oue bill. Then they didn't give me the food I asked to have wrapped up when we left.
The service was good, nothing to rave about, I found the runners who brought the food friendlier and nicer than our waitress, who basically gave yes or no answers instead of suggestions, brought the check when we were done and thank-you. The food was pretty bland and lacked flavor and perhaps seasoning. The location is great and has a fantastic view of the city, other than that the price was not worth it.
I was very excited to try this restaurant but so disappointed after eating there. I love fried oysters and was so happy to see that they had these on the menu. Well, if you like fried breadcrumbs, then you would like these. I did not taste even one whole oyster in the entire platter. I ordered Cole Slaw in place of fries but got fries instead. Viola ordered Shrimp Scampi. It was the most tasteless Shrimp Scampi that I have even had. The service was SLOW. When I expressed my opinion to the waiter, he was very apologetic, but he did not cook the food. He sent the manager over and when I repeated my opinion, she did not do anything to make it right. She only stated that they only use whole oysters, when I showed her the crumbs on my plate and said "yeah... where"? she had no response. All in all, I would not recommend this place at all. A total disappointment.
The shrimp scampi had no eye appeal. Too much pasta and the blandest shrimp. The dish was just shrimp with butter and pasta.
Last summer it was good, but now won’t go back. Sat over 20 min to get drinks, 40 minutes to get water and bread. They called lobster in broth bisque, the Mediterranean flatbread was pita and didn’t have the olive tapenade, the carbonara sauce had no bacon. The food was tasty but call it what it is on the menu.
