Redrock Canyon Grill - Norman
One of the noisiest restaurants I've ever been in, to the point you have to nearly yell in order to talk to each other. Service was poor at best...not what I expect for a 90$ tab, for 2 of us. I finished my beer 1/2 way thru dinner & was never offered another.
Very nice atmosphere. Good service. The appetizers came out so quickly. Cost is pretty high though.
Love this place! Food is always perfect and the service pleasant and knowledgeable! Highly recommend!
Went for pregame and birthday celebration! Everyone is awesome and food is always great!
We mentioned we were celebrating a birthday when make the reservation . It would have been nice if there was some mention of it - even a “Happy “Birthday”. The appetizer Buffalo shrimp was not good. It was barely room temperature and way too heavy in the buffalo sauce coating. No one in our party of 4 liked it. The rest of the meal was quite good. Our steaks were cooked to perfection.
Food and service are always good here. Always very busy in the evening hours. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the cornbread starter; it's always very dry. I've seen pre-made skillets of the bread sitting under heat lamps, so I'm sure that's why it's so dry. Everything is very good. Would definitely recommend.
Great as always
Always consistent on friendly service and great food. We all ordered something different and everything arrived as requested. Great cocktails and beer and wine menu.
My wife and I went for our anniversary. We both had a cocktail to start and then ordered meals. I got the pasta shrimp dish and it was wonderful. Crisp tasty veggies, good shrimp and some spiced meatballs. My wife got the steak, potatoes and veggie and it to was outstanding. Steak was perfectly cooked, the mashed potatoes were outstanding and the green beans cooked perfectly. We are going back.
We need to share a really awesome experience we just had at Redrock Canyon Grill in Norman. When I made reservation for dinner on an app, I added that we were celebrating my mother’s victory over cancer. I need to add mom LOVES cheesecake! Unfortunately, Redrock Canyon doesn’t have cheesecake on their menu (or even as an off menu item). We had a wonderful dinner and ordered a really good “Something Chocolate” for dessert to celebrate with mom. When the sweet waitress delivered our dessert, she had a surprise with her. The restaurant manager had received the note on our reservation and brought a special piece of cheesecake down with him from their sister restaurant Mahogany Prime Steakhouse in OKC. We were all very surprised by this wonderful and sweet gesture to honor my mother!
It was just OK.
Made reservation and they put us at a table, requested a booth and that seemed problematic for our little hostess but we got a booth!
Everything was excellent just like always!!!
Good ingredients that were well prepared. Great service.
Red Rock Canyon Grill’s food is always amazing delicious regardless of what you order! But what really puts them over the top for me is their service is phenomenal and the atmosphere is quiet, professional and secluded feeling. It doesn’t feel like I’m eating with the table next to me. The waiters and waitresses are always incredibly knowledgeable on the menu and can confidently answer any food question. These people take good care of you and the food is wonderful!
We had a late lunch at Red Rock and found and were all around disappointed. The service was appalling, slow and seemingly uninterested in diners. The food was marginal at best. I hope this was a fluke as we routinely enjoy dining here when in the area.
We chose Red Rock Canyon because they take reservations, and it was the first football game of the season for OU so we knew there would be crowds in Norman. There were four of us, and, honestly, we all loved our food. I had the Huevos Rancheros which were delicious! My dining companions had omelette, stuffed poblano, crab cake salad and a yummy sandwich! This is just an overall great restaurant with a good bar.......great place to meet friends for drinks. We will return every time we are in Norman......
Very noisy & they rushed you through your dinner. Also, mentioned it was my sons birthday & they did not offer a complimentary dessert for his birthday. For that quality of a restaurant I don’t expect to be rushed.
We went in for our anniversary, we were seated promptly and our food arrived in a timely manner as well.
Food and service was very good. Did ask for salad dressing on the side and I asked for no avocado on my salad, but both were wrong. Restaurant was very busy so didn't send the order back. Otherwise, everything was great.
Great food & excellent service, they never disappoint.
Believe this is the second time I’ve been asked to provide a review
My husband like his meal of a chicken enchilada and side salad. I loved the salad I had with avacado, tomatoes, nuts, rotisserie chicken, and dates—just delicious.
Heron, our waitress was helpful
Liked the outside music and crowd even though we ate inside.
First visit was just my husband and myself. It was wonderful. August 15th was our second visit. It was an intimate surprise visit with a few family members. Of course it was fantastic! Absolutely fabulous!.
It was great. We love red rock
Food was yummy! I had the rotisserie chicken dinner and my husband and daughter had the pork chops. Everything was delicious. We had the oreo ice cream sandwich for desert and it was so good. We will be back!
Food taste exceptional. Service was excellent even with a busy Friday night. Great experience
Fun place, but not so much for romance. Great for friends meeting
Food arrived cold. Manager had hot food brought to table. The warm food was tasty. Very noisy inside. We asked if there was a table further from the front door, and were told no, even though the restaurant was not half full. We have had good meals at this restaurant in the past. so we will give it another chance.
Food was great. Service was okay, but the server was either having a bad day or didn’t like her job or both.
This place was phenomenal. Had my anniversary dinner here and everything was exceptional
Service this time was a little slow. We've ordered the skillet cornbread the past two times we've been in. The first time it was very dry. Decided to try it again this time and it was still dry, but not as much as before. I had the crabcake salad, which was outstanding, and my husband had the roasted chicken, which was also very good. Overall this is a very good restaurant.
We had terrible service, waited 30 minutes for a bottle of wine then 2 of our salads were never brought out. We received our dinner then someone brought the salads out, which we didn't want anymore. My salmon came out with mashed potatoes instead of couscous and the server acted annoyed when I asked her to bring me the side it was supposed to come with. When we arrived it seemed like 2 of the servers argued about who had to take our table. This was at 5 pm so they weren't even very busy. We've had pretty bad experiences the last 3 times we've been to the OKC location as well, really disappointing for the amount of money we spend there!
Potatoes were bland nothing like I remember a year ago. The chicken was dry and lacking in flavor. The carrots weren’t sweet enough.
two things: 1) Resent that one cannot make reservations with a live person, in order to request particular table. specifically one in quieter area.
2) TOO LOUD. Will probably not return unless there is a "quiet zone" available on reservation.
We requested outside dining and spent most of the evening shooing away flies. I realize outside carries these risks, but some form of electronic fly removal device might be nice. Or, stay with inside dining. As for the menu, our entrees were enjoyable, but it would be nice to have the option of sweet potatoes added to the menu for those who are more health conscious.
My wife and I celebrated her birthday. The staff are professional, attentive, and their timing on serving the courses was perfect. We never wanted for anything. The food is outstanding. Meats cooked to requested temperature and seasoned perfectly. The smoky flavor from the fire was just right. Sides made it worth the trip, and the dessert was luxurious. We go out to get something we cannot do ourselves at home, and Redrock Canyon delivered with a great experience.
Excellent food and service as always!
My steak was cooked medium rare medium medium well and burnt. It was horrible. The appetizer tomato and bread was a waste of money big time. Me and my girl got seated in a table away from everyone else and I’m black so that felt weird but I didn’t say anything. The salad was okay. My girls wasn’t too bad. The banana pudding was pretty bad. And we didn’t get straws worth our drinks but I looked through the window and everyone had a straw. Was a terrible 100 dollar experience
Very good food and great service. The restaurant is very nice and wasn’t so noisy you couldn’t carry on a conversation. A nice chocolate cake offered for dessert would have made it perfect.
When making my reservation you asked if it was for a special occasion and I told you it was - we were celebrating my mom’s 87th birthday - yet no mention of her birthday was made during our visit - I was extremely disappointed by that and will not consider the restaurant when observing a special occasion in the future
