Great NYC ambiance for celebrating Thanksgiving. John Zullo, our waiter, was terrific. His efficiency, professionalism, and sense of humor made for a memorable Thanksgiving.
Our area go-to when we treat ourselves to one of the nicest, elegant-yet-laid-back environments in ntown. The comfort, ease and atmosphere all compliment the excellent bar selections. The food is always excellently prepared. Dessert? YES please! They are closing Sunday for the Winter: go now!
It’s was excellent
The food was wonderful and the staff was very warm and welcoming.... I will come back to this place over and over again!!!
The food was excellent and was serve fresh from the kitchen at an excellent temperature. The staff provided us a table in out separate room away from everyone.
Nice staff-good food and drink. Easy to social distance.
Love this place
And, during the pandemic, lovely elevated tent dining with floor heaters.
Always feel welcome and Richard and his team see to it that no detail is missed.
Dover sole was amazing and so was the Salmon.
Banana cream pie is off the charts!
Wonderful food, great service, as always.
Went here on an early Saturday afternoon and sat outside, under the tent. The food and service was outstanding. The prices? Well, it IS Manhattan, but nothing outrageous considering the neighborhood.
The food is excellent and the service was exquisite. Everyone was personable and welcoming and we had an amazing time.
A great spot for outdoor dining even when raining. Well covered but still open with fresh air. Service was excellent.
we sat outside in a comfortable setting. wait staff agreeable and food was very good. our family loved it.
Wow! I had such a wonderful night it was amazing, from the greeting at the door from Rich, to the server service and omg the food was delicious I just had to take some home with me. Just wow what an amazing service and food. I can’t wait to return.
Great restaurant with plenty of option for different cuisine...everything prepared just the way you order it...Kelly the manager is outstanding...she oversees the restaurant with such ease....we will be back,,,
Nice family dinner. Everybody found something and everything was good. It’s a little expensive, but not outrageous, and you know the prices going in so you shouldn’t make that an issue. The outdoor set-up was kind of bland, but it was a nice, solid tent. It’s hard to hold that against a restaurant these days, under the circumstances. The service was very friendly and everything was made to order with no hiccups. My two complaints is the wait staff kind of forgot about us a few times (they were apologetic) and the place kind of relies on its atmosphere and the outdoor dining took that away. All said, though, it was a nice night out.
This was the first time we were able to gather for a family meal since the Covid pandemic began.
Everyone was comfortable with the outdoor seating arrangements, and enthusiastic about the menu — something for everyone, and all delicious. Chocolate Chip pancakes were a big hit, the crabmeat and avocado salad yummy as always. The burger with caramelized onions raised smiles. Only the weather failed to deliver outstanding service!
Awful. Service lousy, salad had a hair in it, asked for no salt on entree yet loaded with salt. All at ridiculously high prices. The outdoor deck is very nice, but thats it. Used to go here years ago but it simply isn't what it was. Would not go back.
Lovely to be back in nyc , outdoor dining , wonderful staff and food . My branzino Milanese was incredible!!
Perfect evening. We were happy to be in nyc and supporting the restaurants. They need us and we need them!
Nice looking place, wish I liked it more. Dishes are not worth the prices. I would have enjoyed much more with a better server, he kept us waiting and was rude, everyone else was friendly and inviting.
We love just down the block. We eat here often, at least once a week. The staff is great, the food is wonderful, and outdoor dining is comfortable and very COVID compliant. It’s a little too expensive for what it is but the convenience outweighs that. It’s hard to have a decent everyday lunch without alcohol for less than forty bucks a person when all is said and done. But in general this group takes pride in their work (we eat at all four of their outposts).
We dined outside on their incredible deck. For outside dining, it cannot be beat.
The food was quite good, the service was friendly and attentive.
Great outdoor patio dining
Hope they will have heat lamps for the colder weather
Everything was great. The entree portion is very small for the price. If I had not had a voucher, it would not be worth it. Luckily my friend and I shared a pizza for an appetizer. Otherwise we would have still been hungry. The food is delicious.
Bravo! We had the best experience. Glad to see we are all coming back. I will never forget that night. It gave me hope we were making a comeback ✨
Fab food and attentive staff. Quiet evening due to current affairs.
Everyone was extremely lovely and friendly, attentive, and working hard at remaining cheerful despite growing corona virus concerns and the closing of all Broadway shows. The food was delicious and service was great!
Everything was very good. However the prices are now way too much. Overpriced
I always enjoy dining at Redeye Grill -- but the food is only good, not wonderful.
Sean did an awesome job!!!! Music was perfect!!
The Seafood Platter and Lobster Roll were wonderful. The Branzino was outstanding
Made a reservation for two at 6 for a pre-theater dinner. My partner is a flexible vegan/pescatarian and I had been impressed by the online menu - vegan soup of the day and plenty of fish dishes. Lovely restaurant, visually very sophisticated. A little loud for my taste but I'm 65 and most places are. A charming waiter with an improbably coiffed moustache took our order and disappeared for half an hour. When my partner's chopped salad (hold the bacon lardons) and my specialty of the house Scallops in a Skillet arrived we were able to order drink refills. The busman who served the skillet warned me that the metal was hot so I was surprised to find that its contents were not; the scallops were little more than room temperature. I mentioned it to the manager who was very solicitous and professional and he whisked it away and, after a few minutes under the warming lamp, returned it to me, a bit warmer. The flavors and textures were fine, bland, but not a house specialty quality. The chopped salad was adequate. Overall, no reason to return.
Excellent food, Excellent Service— nice decor and vibe.
Added bonus, the waitstaff walked around with trays of warm cookies for the guests.
Great experience, will definitely be dining here again.
I am NEVER disappointed with the food and/or service at Redeye Grill. Always great
Overpriced, noisy.
Nice decor yet average food for the price. They serve cold, soft pretzels (with butter) at the table instead of bread which seems completely out of place for a seafood centered restaurant. For desert, the chocolate black out cake we had was cold instead of room-temp and seemed to be made off site and refrigerated before serving. I don't think we'll go back.
Restaurant is just ok. Menu had limited choices. Ended up with Sea Bass, it was fresh but not great. I should have ordered steak but not in a seafood restaurant.
Not my vibe
We wanted a regular table and we’re seated at a cocktail table by the bar. My coq au vin Was cold and the waiter was not present. I used to go here when it first opened and it was excellent. It is officially off of my list
I ran a performing arts institution in midtown Manhattan for many years. The RedEye Grill was an opening night hang-out for us... Then I retired and moved away. This past week, I had occasion to be back in the neighborhood and booked a lunch with a dear friend. Boy, was I impressed. SO impressed that I cancelled an evening booking at a different restaurant in order to return to Red Eye! I did so again two days later! The food - with an emphasis on seafood, of course, is terrific, and the management and service was attentive, friendly, and welcoming. Red Eye is close to City Center, Carnegie Hall, the theater district, and Central Park... Wow. I recommend it highly and expect to return whenever I'm back in NYC in the future.
Always delicious!!
Service always great
Nicest staff in NYC
I used to love Redeye before it shut down and reopened. I came back and I found any number of things different. The menu was different. The seafood dishes were candidly foolish. The sushi dishes were both unnecessary and inauthentic. And over-all, it was not remotely a value.
in addition, the service was horrendous. We were there for 20 minutes before we were able to even order a drink. That was symptomatic of every single time the server walked away from the table.
The short answer is we will not be coming back and I've already communicated my extraordinarily poor experience to several friends.
I'm really sorry, guys, but you need to rethink your strategy on this.
