Awful experience around the holidays. Food service took quite sometime. My partner ordered a burger medium and was given a veggie burger. 20 minutes later the next burger was delivered and it wasn't cooked - pink as a flamingo. Another 20 minutes later the third burger was delivered and was satisfactory at best. I ate my holiday lunch alone and then watched my partner eat his alone. Very disappointed.

Really enjoyed our visit to the restaurant, from the minute we arrived to when we left the staff made us feel that our patronage was really appreciated. Food and beverage selection was great and the presentation and service was first class. Really had a great time and will definitely return.

Horrible experience. 6:15 reservation for dinner before a show, we got there at 6:10. Restaurant was packed and the maitre d was slammed. It took us 5 minutes to get from the front door to his position. Once we gave our name there was nowhere to stand and my wife was getting pushed around by patrons and staff alike as there was no room. There were others falling in line behind us and they were getting just as aggravated as us. Many of the seated guests looked annoyed and we saw zero food on tables (But I'm just hazarding a guess there that food wasn't coming out.) After 15 minutes of waiting I asked him if we are going to be seated as we have show tickets, he said yes of course. Within 5 minutes he came back to me and gave me the honest answer that he didn't know when we'd be seated and that perhaps we shouldn't stick around so as not to ruin our evening anymore than he already had. He did offer us a $50 discount and his phone number and that I should call before coming in and he'd "take care of us" the next time. I doubt we'll be returning to use it.

*I'm giving 1 star for all options as I don't believe they deserve any more than that. However I did not get to taste the food or obviously pay for anything.

This is one of the best restaurants we have found in NYC. We had the ahi and the Chelean sea bass. They were both excellent.

We booked this last minute as we wanted to eat closer to the Theatre District and after reading reviews on TripAdvisor I decided to try to book and luckily got a table. The restaurant is large, loud which is fine by me and the service and food were amazing! I would highly recommend this restaurant. I had the scallops with a leek puree. My daughter had the lobster mac n cheese and she said it was the best she has ever had. Our server brought us cotton candy after our meal. I would go to this restaurant again in a second!

We were a party of 6. The maitre'd was very cordial and friendly. I have been there before and enjoyed myself. But not this time. From the beginning our waiter Craig seemed stressed out. Salads came before our drinks. One salad had no dressing, when drinks finally arrived one Prosecco was missing. We wanted to relax between courses, but the entree came out as the salads were being picked up. The busboy pouring the water reached across the table and aimed for a glass. Got close, ice cubes and some water missed with no concern or apology. I got elbowed in the head by our waiter. The smallest Prime rib I have ever seen came out, it was about 1/4 in thick. Impossible for medium rare. We were actually laughing at this point thinking we were being punk'd. We were given a glass of prosecco each as an apology. Craig, nice guy none the less. Live music very nice.

Large elegant restaurant but with cozy or large group spaces; pricey but the food is delicious and service is excellent. Right across from Carnegie Hall. A seat near the large 7th ave window side —or on the porch or patio in mild weather.

Took my husband’s client from Hawaii and she loved the avocado crab salad, but wished it had a little bit of lettuce to lighten it up. Burgers and fries were enjoyed by the guys, especially the vegetarian offering for my husband. The poke bowls were a hit with other members of our party. Most everyone gobbled up the roasted Brussels sprouts. Filet mignon with peppercorn sauce was cooked perfectly, but for that price I would have expected at least a nice green vegetable on the plate at no extra cost. We had a great booth by the window on a rainy night, but the temperature was warm and cozy. The chocolate tidbit at the end on the way out was a delightful surprise and definitely a nice touch. The live music elevated the noise level a bit, but the performer was very good, and even the client commented she enjoyed the singer. It was a little strange no one offered to take our coats and umbrellas on such a rainy night, and we had to put them behind us above the booth. Otherwise, the service was outstanding; our drinks were replenished and my Sonoma Cutrer Chardonnay was a perfect choice. (I ordered it before I decided on the filet!)
The table was ready timely for our reservation. The ambiance is upscale elegant and inviting. My husband and I had dined here on a previous trip, and I remembered the restaurant from the unique artistic murals on the walls and columns. They definitely set this atmosphere apart from other New York City Grilles.
I would definitely recommend this white tablecloth grille for business entertainment. We were not rushed even though it was near closing time. Seating was comfortable and an ample choice of tables, booths and banquetttes seemed available. Lighting was appropriate. It is also a perfect venue for celebrating a family occasion or an intimate dinner for 2. The birthday sparkler dessert accompanied by the Happy Birthday song sung for a “perfect stranger” brought a chuckle to our table and is something we will remember.

Had not been to the restaurant in a few years. Every time I've been before I had a good meal and a happy experience. This time the food was good, drinks good, but the waiter seemed to have not really cared about our table. Things took too long (drinks, etc.) as I noticed him ignoring our table to go to other tables to do things that could wait. I waited tables in my youth and I know how a restaurant works and I know when a waiter is not paying attention to the table, and in once instance when I had ask him for the third time (and not in a rude, demanding way) to get something for us because he had forgotten, he gave me "real attitude" like it was my fault for asking.

Reservations were a breeze online. Was most helpful since out of towners were assembling for a concert and had no true semblance of New York mid-town nightlife hysteria/congestion, let alone in the Theatre District. Everyone was seamlessly efficient and handsomely appointed in their duties. Food qualtiy, delivery time and presentation were special footnotes of the evening. A swift seating and swift exit. An unexpected spacial respite from the buzz of mid-town Manhattan. Definitely a solid recommendation.

We were wowed by the maître d and how friendly and attentive he was. Love that he walked by the restaurant with trays of freshly baked and delicious cookies and gave it to guests. Great touch! Also the dark chocolate and almond treats at the host stand was a super plus.
The food was very good and fresh but took a while to come considering it was lunch time. Our waiter was just ok, not super friendly but not rude either. Maybe because it was lunch time and he was too busy he didn’t give us much of attention. We sat with empty plates for about 10 minutes before him or anyone came over to take them away.
Despite that, I would definitely come back to Redeye.

Late night dinner after a Broadway show. A short walk from the theater.
Live music created a nice atmosphere.
Food was tasty, cooked as ordered.
Server informed us of kitchen closing soon after delivering our food (10pm reservation) we were not planning on ordering additional items, but the heads up avoided disappointment.

I recommend the Redeye.

As usual, great food in a great environment! Service was generally very good, however, we had to keep asking for water. Not sure why no one noted the empty glasses. Otherwise, everything was perfect - loved my cobb salad with lobster; and my husband loved his salmon. My wine was also a great selection. Our server did a great job. Thanks!

It's been a while since my last visit here and I can't understand why it took so long to return. It's a large restaurant but the space is divided up nicely so it feels much more intimate and the noise level is low.

The entire staff is friendly, attentive and professional. The restaurant specializes in fish and steaks. For appetizers one of us had the fried calamari which was tender and not at all greasy. I had the daily soup special which was a chick pea soup. It was delicious. The other two in our party had a baby kale salad and a chopped salad. Both of them were very pleased

My entree was the Chilean Sea-bass, cooked tender and delicious. The other entrees were the Ahi Tuna & Yellowtail Roll, Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna and the Filet Mignon. All of us agreed that our meals were superb. For dessert we all shared an excellent strawberry cheesecake, a delicious and huge slice of chocolate cake and a wonderful sorbet.

A fantastic pre theatre dinner! Beautiful setting, Our server Scott expertly guided us through the menu and wine list. Making suggestions and answering our questions. In a busy pre theatre rush he paced our meal perfectly assuring we had plenty of time to enjoy the incredibly prepared food and have plenty of time to make our show. Entire staff was professional, fun and engaging. Richard, Theodora and Kelli create an atmosphere of fun cheer and hospitality! All three connected with our group making us feel like family at home! A great kick off to the holidays! THANK YOU!
