Fifty feet from Carnegie Hall, near Central Park and convenient to all midtown hotels, the Redeye takes its name from the infamous late-night flight linking America's two cultural hubs. The flavors of the two coasts are fused in both the grand cafe's interior design and the bold New American menu.View Private Dining Details
It had been years since eating here & I was pleasantly surprised! It was good. I got the Redeye Burger & it was great & also cooked like I like it (well done). Service was also great.
We came here for a birthday dinner during a weekend stay & we absolutely loved our experience! We were given complimentary champagne & a birthday dessert, as well as a huge stack on cotton candy. Our server was very attentive & nice.
Good food. Great host.... Really disappointed that they got rid of the Jewish mashed potatoes...we came all the way from Wyoming for those!!
Very light and lively atmosphere, great service. the menu and food were delicious.
Service at the restaurant was excellent . The waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu selections and made some good recommendations. The main course that my wife and I had was the chilean sea bass which was cooked to perfection! We both thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant.
Redeye is in a great area, nice window seating and ambiance, a varied menu, and is usually very good. We were disappointed this time with both the service and the food. The caesar salad was saturated in dressing and the lettuce was wilted (my primary meal!). We waited over 20 minutes with credit card in hand to pay the bill. We will give it another try to see if this was just a bad night.
I love this restaurant, I've been lunching and dining there for years, the food is great, the atmosphere, and the service are exquisite. They have a great selection of delicious wine. I highly recommend it
Wonderful dining experience before heading to Carnegie hall. Lots of options, everything delicious and perfectly prepared from appetizers to dessert!
I work in the area and was looking for a restaurant near the office. This was the perfect choice. The food and ambiance were great. The staff was very friendly. I particularly enjoyed the live entertainment. There was a piano singer and he was very good. The noise level was not high so my colleague and I were able to enjoy our conversation. I would recommend Redeye Grill and plan on visiting again in the near future.
Wonderful atmosphere and food. Lovely staff. A little pricey for sushi but the live music and ambiance made up for it
Renee was a phenomenal server! The food was good... loved the live music!
Birthday... restaurant comped 2 glasses prosecco. Had Carnegie Hall tickets for 8... prompt seating for 6pm reservation ensured we made concert in plenty of time. Minor hiccup... forgot small fork for raw oysters... otherwise food great... Chilean Sea Bass with ginger and shinseng salad was spectacular!
The first visit was very good. The 2nd was excellent. Friendly staff and reasonable NYC prices.
We had a great meal here with excellent service.
for the first time we were very disappointed and do not know when the restaurant changed. food was mediocre at best and our waiter was terrible. Even as we were leaving told us he made a mistake on our bill for wine and had us wait to get another bill. He was loud and obnoxious during the entire dinner. Not a fun experience. we were very disappointed as we used to love this restaurant and of course their sister restaurant. Joanie and Dennis Franz
This was my fourth time at Redeye in six months and it never disappoints! The staff are some of the friendliest around, the food is DELICIOUS, the atmosphere is awesome, and the live piano music adds a nice touch. I am a vegetarian and LOVE their vegetarian meatballs atop veggie pasta. My boyfriend really enjoyed the salmon, and my Dads favorite is the seabass.
We were celebrating a special occasion. Alton, our waiter, and Richard, the Maître D', went above and beyond to make it an amazing night! Highly recommend this spot. Thanks again Redeye!
Consistently fantastic! Live music was nice, but loud, so as requested, we were seated on the quieter side. Perfect. Our server was very good and attentive. Drinks were great and food superb, as usual. Tried the lobster & crab lasagna - wonderful! Will keep coming - always good food, good service and a friendly, welcome atmosphere.
Was in NYC to see Broadway shows. Asked for a restaurant with a piano player. He was great and the food was very tasty... a bit pricey but we were willing to pay for the ambiance too.
Great food, beautifully decorated and within easy walking distance from Rose Jazz at Columbus Circle and across the street from Carnegie Hall. This makes it a great spot for Pre and Post concert dining.
This is my new go-to place for a meal when I have tickets for a performance at City Center. Each person from the waiter to the busboy to the hostess to the manager is attentive and friendly. There's a good variety on the menu. So far every meal I've had has been excellent quality. Prepared and presented very nicely. It's not cheap, but they make you feel like a valued customer, which is really nice. They even bring free, fresh-from-the-oven cookies around (which are delicious!).
Excellent food. Wide ranging, eclectic menu. The service was good and unobtrusive. After 6:30 pm there is loud, live singing. We could have done without that but realized it probably pleases more than it annoys. The room is lovely and spacious. Unusual, tasteful decor. Tables are not too close together. It isn't cheap but you get your money's worth!
Great food!! Great people!! We loved Kelly, she made a great Red Mule! Richard and his staff were awesome too!! My wife and I loved the Redeye Grill!
There for dinner this past week. Cocktail and clam chowder soup were solid but other parts of meal were very underwhelming especially fish tacos. Food was average but not good value for price. Okay experience but wouldn’t go out of my way to return.
The Redeye Grill continues to never disappoint my wife or myself. The food is very well prepared as always and service was totally first class. We have never had a negative experience over the past 15 years and don’t ever envision that possibility from ever happening. Whatever you are doing just continue doing it and the Redeye Grill will be around for many more years!
The food is a complete disaster. Yet it was fresh.
Usually a great experience. This time a great disappointment. Martini came with shredded ice floating in it, which diluted it and made it poor. Main course was blah, waiter was smug and stood there while others did the work. He asked about timing, and then let the food get overcooked to match our request. Other times, this place is something we look forward to. We'll try again in a month and see.
I'm probably a fairly tough critic but the Redeye passed relatively unscathed. Drinks were good but a bit pricey. We didn't try the appetizers. The salmon with wild mushrooms was very good. The crab cake with shrimp was also very good though don't expect a very large crab cake. And the lobster lasagne was decadent. I particularly enjoyed the sautéed spinach which served all four of us nicely. The chocolate blackout cake was enormous. And the banana pie was full of big chunks of banana on a graham cracker crust and not overly sweet which was nice. The coffee was also good. Service was a bit on the slow side and lacked much attentiveness. Any of us in the group would go back.
Our server Craig was wonderful, friendly, informative & very professional. The calamari was delicious, the lobster & crab lasagne was alright, I prefer the vegan squash spaghetti & meatballs, & my friends enjoyed his fillet mignon. The desert was banana custard & there were cookies that were brought around. After dinner, 2 bottles of wine & desert I was beyond satisfied.
Live Music was GREAT and so was the food! Would go there again!
Right across street from CARNEGIE HALL - fun open atmosphere, great food and excellent service. Will return.
We lucked up on this gem because it was right next to our hotel. Group of six on a Saturday night. Excited that e could easily book a table via the app.
The staff was very friendly and attentive. Good options for a variety of food interests. The side dishes to share were amazing, especially the Thai peanut sauce Brussels sprouts.
The live entertainment deserves a huge shout out. Phenomenal singer with a great "playlist".
Highly recommended by all six of our group!
Consistently good! Great food and service in a beautiful dining room! Excellent steaks and American fare.
Excellent food and service! Make reservations as the restaurant fills up quickly. Seafood is fresh and tasty!!
Terrific all around...service and food were top notch...even when it was a full house noise was NOT an issue...will definitely return!
Always a good bet pre-theater for City Center shows
Dinner was great and so was the music!
Great food and wonderful wait staff. The game is always lovely as well.
Lobster roll skimpy and pieces of lobster tiny. Did not look like fresh lobster
What a wonderful meal and excellent service dining at Red Eye Grille prior to our Carnegie Hall concert. The table we requested was ready, we were greeted warmly at the front maitre d' station, our waiter Polo pointed us in the right direction for our meal choices. His service was excellent and my rib eye steak was cooked to perfection along with delicious pommes frites and tasty asparagus. It was so special seeing Richard, the General Manager, whom I recognized from years of dining st Cafe Fiorello..charming and welcoming as ever. Go to Red Eye Grille. It will not disappoint. The food and service are excellent.
