Floor was very slippery!!! Food was okay, not commensurate with the prices.
Food was very good. Service was very inconsistent. Did not expect such bad service since I have been there before.
The most splendid place when excellent cuisine, festive decorations and ambiance are in order for a personal time with friends or a working business meeting FOR BREAKFAST! Don't sleep on the pancakes or lobster omelette!
very busy restaurant, kitchen got backed up and people that arrived after us were served before us
We have been to the Redeye Grill several times prior to their renovations. We like to try new restaurants when in the city but since we liked this restaurant so much we returned this trip. Unfortunately we were very disappointed!
We were seated upstairs which has no ambiance and feels disconnected from the rest of the restaurant and not impressed with the new menu selections. It felt like they were giving priority to other reservations when we checked in because the hostess said we will just put you upstairs since we are full down here. There were several unoccupied tables but we went upstairs thinking it was probably just as nice.
Our waiter however was awesome and very attentive.
Overall we were not happy with our meal and will not return on our next visit in a few weeks.
The service was quite poor.my guest enjoyed the eggs Benedict. My shopped salad was served without the hearts of palm and asparagus as described. When I finally flagged down the waiter, he argued that these ingredients were there. They were not so he brought a plate with them to add to the salad. He never checked again to verify that the salad was now as ordered. Not having the waiter check once the meal was served and again when it was lacking is terrible service. I wont return.
It took an hour to get an overcooked cheeseburger and the menu was limited. Had eaten there many times before, but will not go back based on this experience
Ladies room was horribly dirty...
No need to return there
Just a pretty average experience all around.
Excellent food and service. This neighborhood restaurant is a real gem
My friends and I used to love this place, but we were quite disappointed with the food that night. I don't know if it were an off night for the chef or not, but several of my friends ordered the jumbo lump crab cake and shrimp dish and it was extremely salty, as well as the appetizer of the calamari, very salty. Another friend ordered the herb roasted lemon chicken and it was raw. Your infamous dancing shrimp were just ok. I'd probably still recommend it though and just chalk this night up to a bad night with someone being a bit heavy handed with the salt.
My wife and I had not been to Redeye in years and we thought it was better than ever!
We had the sushi to start and it was very fresh. Our fish enters were delicious as well
Can’t wait to go back
We've been back several times since you reopened and enjoyed every
So I am sure you will see again in the near future
Good location. Food a bit overpriced. Good service.
We were at the Red Eye Grill for late drink and snacks, we loved it so much that we reserved for brunch. The brunch buffet was fantastic. We will be back!
A wonderful night out. This is not only a great dinner, but a great night out, with music and a great atmosphere. The food was exceptional. My husband had the lobster with crab and I had the bronzino. Both dishes were amazing. As a side we got the brussel sprouts, which were possibly the best we've had anywhere. We shared a simple strawberry ice cream for dessert, and even that was exceptionally good. The piano player was wonderful and the atmosphere was great. The service was friendly and efficient. We highly recommend this restaurant.
Good food, very good service. Had live music which was loud, but the hostess quickly moved us to a quieter table.
Always a wonderful experience. The updated decor is lovely. The piano music in the lounge is a plus. The food is excellent. Conveniently located near many theater venues.
Great meal and exceptional service
We have never been disappointed at the Red Eye Grill and chose it for a dinner with out of town guests while celebrating my wife’s birthday.
Great food and atmosphere. Waitress not very attentive.
Very nice restaurant, great food, great service.
I have loved Red Eye for years and was so happy when it re-opened over the summer. Friday night's dinner was very average. I hated where we were seated (in the little room off the bar) and the service was lackluster, to say the least. Will question my return.
Unfortunately the menu was hampered by 5 items which were no longer available! A very poorly managed offering especially in NYC
Had a delightful dinner foods dinner service were great.
Service wasn’t great - check brought before we had a chance to order coffee or dessert. Food was fine.
Wasn’t as good as it’s been in the past unfortunately. I’ve been to this restaurant dozens of times and love their lobster cobb salad, but today it wasn’t great. There was a shell in the salad and the avocado wasn’t edible - it was hard as rock.
We were seated at a tiny table for 2 in the middle of the floor - we could barely fit the food on the table, even though I reserved the table days in advance. I would have understood the table if I was a walk in, but not for someone with a reservation and not for someone that is a frequent return customer.
Sadly, I’m wondering if they are under new management? Just not as good as in the past.
Sat us near an outside door that was used too much and the cold air was not fun to experience.
Great place and amazing service.
From the time we arrived we were treated to wonderful service and food. Very professional staff. The food and service is spot on.
I love this place. Don’t pass on this restaurant.
Skip the flying shrimp! Very messy and dried out, crab cakes were very good!
After being closed many months for renovation I was looking forward to returning. The food and service seemed a notch below what I recalled. It wasn’t bad, just typical for a midtown restaurant IMO. Perhaps they haven’t quite hit their stride so I will return since I’m sure they’ll be back to 4 stars soon. Favorite dish of evening was Brussels Sprouts.
It was our first time dining at the Redeye Grill since their renovation, and we were impressed! Being Carnegie Hall subscribers, we have four local “go to” restaurants which we dine at pre/post theater. The Redeye was good, but now it is much better! Wonderful beef bourguignon, excellent bronzino (according to my wife), excellent service and a half a block from Carnegie Hall. What could be better? An excellent dinner with cocktails in New York City for $160.00. Simply amazing. Highly recommend.
A beautiful spot for dinner. I had the beef Bourgogne and it melted in your mouth. My wife’s dancing shrimp were a little over done and stuck to the stick. Meal arrived a little cold and tables were incredibly close together if you went as a couple. As a group of 4 or more it was fine. Service was outstanding
The food is good and is priced for the area more so than for what you’re getting. This is fine if you know what to expect; Redeye is a reliable place with a varied menu. Servers are attentive and happily exchanged a glass of wine for my friend who didn’t like what she got.
Always a wonderful welcome Richard. Allergies attended too. Hoping Carnegie or city center. This is the best in the neighborhood pianist/singer in lounge is wonderful
It’s always a great night when you can find parking right nearby. I knew it would be a good night. Service was great.
This restaurant needs to fix its front desk people. The food was great. My steak was cooked to perfection. The wait staff was really on the ball. The problem was our seating. The restaurant was mostly empty when we entered. We had a reservation but they seated us at a table near a work station. I asked for a booth but was told the booths were only for parties larger than four. After we were seated they promptly sat a party of four at a booth. Next time I am in the area I will be looking for a different restaurant.
The service was excellent. There was confusion about whether sushi was available for a Saturday afternoon meal. The restaurant should make it clear that the brunch menu is available on weekend afternoons.
A good place for brunch in the West 50's. We were very warmly welcomed and the host
went out of his way to find a good table for us. All the staff was friendly and attentive.
It was our first visit, and we will return.
