Excellent service. Great food. The Delmonico and Lobster Mac are must haves, along with the onion rings.
Will not go back! Terrible service and food was awful.
Great overall. Been going there for years. Never a disappointment.
Absolutely a must dine when in Manhattan
Amazing experience from ambience to service to food! Highly recommended!!!
Got put in a dingy back room with low ceilings and green felt covered walls. Not the ambiance we were looking for and completely inconsistent with the rest of the restaurant.
It was Valentine’s Day so it was a busy night. While our waiter wasn’t always around when needed, the manager came over to check on us at just the right time. We had a great experience, enjoyed our dinner and would go back.
Lovely to have such a gem in the neighborhood. Having live music and Valentine decoration was a lovely touch.
Fantastic service. Very polite, quick, considerate and very attentive to your needs. The Food was absolutely delicious, not one course ordered was disappointing. On top of the wide wine and whiskey selection to combine with your meal. Simply a remarkable/memorable experience. 10/10 would come again for occasions or a night out. More on the expensive side but be rest assured the quality of your meal will be phenominal.
Redeye Grill is still a great venue with great energy and ambience. The live music was a hit with us. Having gone to Redeye on an off over the last 20 years, this last visit was disappointing. The service was mostly okay--timing could have been better, but it was the food that disappointed. The dancing shrimp appetizer looked more like overcooked, dried out fried shrimp than the once spectacular dancing shrimps of days gone by. Steak frites was more grisly than one would have hoped--the frites, however, were good. The miso cod was pretty good, but less than fabulous for a seafood destination place. Perhaps most disappointing and the real reason to go to Redeye was the banana cream pie. This used to be a to die for dessert, fresh bananas and fluffy cream, but today it tasted more like a recently thawed and not quite so fresh blob of cream with some bananas. We wanted to love the old place, but probably won't go back. Alas.
We love the Redeye but last night we had to wait a ridiculously long time for our food. The service is usually spot on. I’m sure it won’t happen again. This is our go to restaurant for all Carnegie hall events and whenever we need a restaurant in midtown
Server was nice, friendly, helpful but it took a long time to get the appetizer (not his fault) and then the main courses came while we were still eating the calamari. The kitchen has to get some kinks out but we would go back.
We were disappointed... prices were high ($68 for 12 coconut shrimp), no options for children, service was just ok
Dinner was a bit chaotic due to Valentine’s Day. Feel they took advantage of the day and increased prices.
Wait staff was very professional and took excellent care of us
Nice place for Lunch as it is casual dining and at the same time formal dining too. Good selection of food and liquor.
Fun evening with family enjoying good service, fresh seafood, and good wine choice by the glass.
The food and ambience are outstanding. Great place to eat before the concert!
Live music was lovely surprise and very good, the food delicious, and the deserts, HUGE!! Definitely want to come back to dine here, as I wanted so many things off the menu. Thank you Redeye Grill!
Recently remodeled, excellent location and atmosphere which is enhanced with a live piano bar/playing. The food presentation & taste was “good” however, the servers MUST be trained! Our waitress forgot to ask for our drink order (most profitable item at a restaurant). They were out of the Brooklyn beer on draft and out of the “dancing shrimp” advertised front & center on the top of the menu. The table next to us ordered a beef & pasta entree which their server left on a mobile burner next to me and completely “forgot” to serve his customer. It was the HOST who eventually serviced that table after the 4 men waited for at least 10 minutes. Oh, and our waitress re-filled my wine at the end of our date failing to notice the egg & bleu cheese chunks in the glass.
I was excited to bring my fiancé and left feeling very disappointed. The lack of training and competent management, along with poorly executed service depletes the restaurant from all of its potential.
We visited on a busy Friday night and were delighted at how we were greeted, treated and fed!
We tried the coconut dancers, which were good once we figured out the pull off the heads, the mac & cheese and lobster with a whole lobster in it, was scrumptious! The ribeye seasoned and prepared spot on. And the cream cheese spinach, if you like cream spinach this may well be The best you’ll ever find. This will definitely be a spot to return to for us as we visit in New York fourth/ five times a year.
We had two salads- the lobster Cobb and crab avocado. Both were good. And tasty.
Thought this was a very good NYC type steakhouse although I am a fisheater. The Dover Sole was excellent and the oysters were seasonally good. Service very good and I had a window seat, good for people watching.
Food and service were good but always loud in the restaurant. Closed for quite some time but didn’t see changes?
Had reservations and was seated quickly. The food was pretty good. Service was alright, had to wait a bit for the server server to come over. My husband had the salmon teriyaki and he really liked it. I had the chicken sandwich with fries. The sandwich was food, but the fries were cold.
It was a unique and enjoyable experience in the city.
NEVER BRING OUT THE ENTREE WHEN THE CUSTOMER IS STIIL EATING HIS APPETIZER. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THIS!
Great food, terrible service.
Got there at 6:30, seated right away but seated in the back where the tables were literally on top of each other. I had to squeeze in to get to sit down. Literally sitting with the table next to you. Which I understand if you are busy but there were lots of empty tables. I ordered shell steak 6 0z which was tiny and the fries were way too salty. Couldn’t eat them, no veg. For $34 would have expected more. My husband had salmon bowl which he said was delicious.7:15 finished dinner, figured we had time for desert before going to show across the street. Waiter never came back to take desert order. 7:40 we had to flag him down to get the check. Bar looked like fun with a piano player. Would only go back for bar experience, certainly not the food or service.
Great food with live entertainment
Excellent food and service. Redeye Grill is a real neighborhood gem. Highly recommend
We've been dining at Redeye forever. It was always worth the splurge. Something changed since our last visit there. We were a party of 6 adults, and 2 of us couldn't even eat our meals. My hamburger was ordered medium and it arrived so overcooked it was inedible, on a cold hard bun. The fries tasted as though they were leftover from yesterday. The chicken cutlet was likewise so dry it was inedible. Crab cake eggs Benedict was only 1 crab cake for the 2 eggs. The server never stopped by to check on our table. Finally we called over the manager and complained to him. He did the right thing and removed the 2 entrees from our bill. But still.........we won't be returning to Redeye again in the near future.
Atmosphere was nice- but took quite a while for the food to come out- and I didn’t love what I got either. Nothing terribly wrong- just wasn’t great.
Server was rude
Definitely three star. Had the Moscow mule, it was overflowing with ice, not sure how they get away calling it a Moscow mule. Dinner salad was ok. No normal dressing, their dressing was ok, a bit tart. The sea bass was the best part of the meal. The Brussel sprouts were drenched and only the middle was edible. Overall not pleased with my last dinner in NYC.
This has been our go-to place for an early pre-theater dinner. This visit preceded West Side Story. The dinner was better.
Food used to be much better. Cobb Salad was lacking dressing and had no hard-boiled egg, as it previously did. Banana cream pie was almost as good as previously but not much custard. Very enjoyable atmosphere but the food as definitely declined.
Service was very good however the food quality was disappointing. I had the Dancing Shrimp which was overcooked. The ribeye was overcooked as well and very fatty.
This is a beautiful place to have a wonderful dinner
