REDD is the first venture from acclaimed Northern California chef Richard Reddington. Redd reflects the passions of a serious chef who, after 15 years in some of the best kitchens in the United States and Europe, has found the perfect balance of serious food and unpretentious ambiance. Drawing from his classic French and Mediterranean sensibilities, chef Reddington has created a cuisine that combines flavors and textures that match well with local wines.


REDD’S menu showcases regionally inspired seasonal selections with ethnic influences. A daily 5 course chef’s tasting menu is also available in addition to the regular menu.

I think the restaurant was really off on Fathers Day. Went for lunch and time between appetizers and entrees was 30 min-45 min with frequent apologies from the waiter. Two of us ordered the special lobster club and it was the THINNEST filling of lobster I have ever had on a sandwich - much less for almost $30. Perhaps too many orders of that entree and they had to thin it out? Clearly something was going on in the kitchen. Too bad because Redd had been one of our favorite dining places in the area.

Another great find in Yountville! The tasting menu was fabulous as well as the pairing with wine. What was interesting was that of course, everyone at the table must have the tasting menu, but every other person gets a second different tasting menu so we got to try virtually everything on the menu! And it was all fabulous! But I tell you to come hungry if you do this 5 course tasting menu. Even though it was smaller portions it was still a lot of fabulous food The service was wonderful and well paced thanks to Tammy! Would absolutely do again!

The tasting menu was exquisite! They gave my spouse and me different dishes (and wine pairings), so by sharing we tried 10 dishes! Fantastic and different flavor combinations in each. Also, don't forget to try the house red - Redd wine!

We were celebrating so splurged and tried the tasting menu and were not disappointed! We were each served a different dish for the 5 courses so we were able to try 10 different dishes! Delicious! The food was wonderful as was the service! Highly recommend it!!

We were celebrating our 10 year anniversary and my 40th birthday. When we checked in there was no mention of congrats or I see you are celebrating. We than sat down and waiting 5 minutes for water and a menu. The food was outstanding but the terrible service that we received throughout our dining experience made us feel completely overlooked. The worst part was my wine. What kind of a restaurant serves high end wine and doesn’t strain out the sediment and cork. We were so disappointed in the entire experience.

Redd was excellent. The outdoor seating provided a great way to enjoy the experience while taking in fresh air. They also have an outdoor fireplace that created even more ambiance. Overall the food and drinks were top notch. The lamb was perfectly prepared, the snapper was also fantastic.

There is little not to love about Redd.

Every time we come here we love it more. My husband and I both ordered the five course tasting menus, and to our surprise this time we each got a different tasting! It was so awesome to be able to try 10 menu items in one sitting! Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The duck, sushi, scallop and lamb were our favorites!!! Our glasses were never empty and we wanted for nothing. Wonderful staff.

If you have the option of going here or darn near anywhere else in yountville, pick Redd. There’s a lot of talk about places to eat in wine country, but this place never disappoints. One of our all time favorites.

One of the best restaurants I have ever been to
We did the tasting menu with wine pairing. Each of us had a different dish (we were 2 total). Every dish was a hit.

We received excellent service ( a bit on the slow side, but not a bother as were celebrating), and the food was delicious. One person had a mushroom omelet, another the petrale sole, another the shrimp and grits, and another the tuna salad. We were all quite pleased with our selections.

My husband and I celebrated our 30th Anniversary here. It was wonderful - perfect service, perfect food! We decided to have the 5-course Tasting Menu with wine pairings. They even substituted a couple of courses. We plan on going back this summer!

We’ve been before for dinner and have had mixed experiences, the most recent dinner — maybe 2 years ago — was outstanding. So, we thought we’d try it out again for Mother’s Day brunch 2018. Given the high bar the Wine Country (and SF Bay Area in general) has made for itself with regard to overall dining experiences, I have to say this one fell a bit flat for us. The service was good enough, the recommended wines by the glass were okay, and the food — while I’m sure is sourced from some of the best — was just okay, nice, pleasant, but not very memorable or notable. Maybe brunch isn’t really their scene, perhaps especially on a busy Mother’s Day, but for near $200 for three of us, the food, in particular, didn’t quite live up to Redd (or Yountville) standards.

Super yummy however there was little ambiance. Wish the had some beautiful paintings or unique light fixtures. Amazing scallops, morning buns and grilled pineapple and tarragon ice cream to finish it off. Our waiter Josh was right on point with his recommendations !!
