Wine was the starting point. Beyond the snobbery that once surrounded wine in America, Red let’s you explore, enjoy and fulfill your interest, your own way, using a serving instrument that’s unique to our region.
Please consider this your own invitation to join us for an evening soon.

our dining experience was perfect. the four of us ordered a variety of food and all were delicious. I don't think a bad choice can be made. The service was attentive without being intrusive.
Everything about this place is wonderful - decor, lighting, comfortable seating, wine selection, service, and especially the food. We have been here many times and the food is always great. Beautiful flavors, no fillers, fresh-tasting, just wonderful food.
First time here...food was well-prepared. Chef (from New Zealand) came out talk with us (and others)...was very pleasant. Service was good and not at all rushed. Interesting concept if you want to try a good variety of wines along with great food.
Was surprised how nice it was and the people were great. The food was excellent.
Wonderful little tucked away spot. Chef stops by tables to make sure everyone is doing well and enjoying their evening. Service staff is helpful and knowledge when you are trying to decide between dishes. The brie appetizer was delish and the bruschetta brought out at another table looked amazing. The pork chop was an fabulous choice as was the filet. They were even able to accommodate my friends wish to have the sides that came with another entree. Remember to save room for the dessert! I could have just eaten a plate of the homemade whipped cream.
The food was great, the music was fun, and the owners and servers made the whole meal! I will definitely be back!
Never disappoints. Food and wine are always top notch
Excellant cuisine, for wine lovers! A great evening for friends.
I was pleasantly surprised that this turned out to be one the best dining experiences I can remember. The staff was great, the food was great, the noise level was low, and there was even some great entertainment that was not too loud. That night, they featured a man on a keyboard (but playing it as a piano) and a female vocalist. Both were great - just right for a nice dinner. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The prices were moderate or slightly above, but I have paid far more for much less at other restaurants.
Such a fun place. Food is delicious - whether you get a meal or a cheese plate. Chef comes out to say hello. Buy a wine card (renewable) to taste a wide variety of wines from their automatic taps. Staff is very knowledgeable and professional. Guitarist/singer on Thursday (Armand) was excellent, but not loud at all.
Everyone who works there are wonderful and very friendly. All the servers are outstanding🤩 food is always very consistent...luv this place!!!
Fabulous food, exceptionally well prepared and presented. Outstanding and attentive service.
We had a girls night at Red. The selection of wines available fit everyone's tastes and the food was delicious!
Noise level of live music was too loud for conversation. Lovely meal and service.
Red, as we refer to the restaurant, is just a great, local place with an incredible chef, an incredible owner who cares and awesome staff that are attentive and knowledgeable about their dishes, desserts and especially their wines, which is extensive to say the least. They also have a great Italian-style wine dispenser for those who are curious and wish to try this wine or that wine but not totally commit. It is a great system. If you know what you want, no problem. They have an extensive array of value priced, high quality wines by the bottle. OK, small hint here...the Chef is from New Zealand so try the NZ Rack of Lamb! You honestly must!
I love this little wine bistro for good food and wine and quiet conversation with friends. The renovated décor by the current owners is charming. The server that we've had on our last two trips there is fun and outgoing. It is an undiscovered (by many) gem tucked between stores in a small shopping area.
Excellent and very special place. Hidden in a strip shopping area and one would never know it once inside......a five star in every way!!
The food was outstanding from the oyster appetizers to the short ribs and pork chop entrees to the bourbon pecan pie. The presentation of the food was also outstanding. This is our new favorite in Bluffton.
excellent food and service, very nice menu offerings and great selection of wine. loved the wine tasting options.
This was a perfect choice for my 70th Birthday. I was a little nervous since this was located in a strip mall. It was perfect in every thing. I am Definitely going to return to this great restaurant
What a great find in a strange place. You don’t expect to find downtown dining in a strip mall but that is exactly what Red is, minus the booze. I could have been in a wine bar in any big city. No one was there when my husband and I arrived but by 7 it was filling up fast. You must have the seafood chowder. We will be back, often!
This is our third trip to this fine restaurant. First, it is a cozy and small setting. While it sits in a strip shopping center (Best Buy), once inside you are carried away with a nice ambience. The servings are the right size (smaller)for foodies to allow for multiple courses. We have had the chef’s choice bruschetta each time and enjoyed. Last night I had chefs special which was filet (6 oz) and a small serving of lobster thermador. It was good, especially the steak. The others in our party had the chicken Kiev, pork chop, and the Shrimp/crabmeat appetizer (as their main course). All said they enjoyed. Wine tasting is fun using the card, the wines are decent, not outstanding but a nice price point if you want to just have fun with it. Service was very good and Laura’s descriptions of the menu items are entertaining. Very Good live background music!
One of our favorite places!! Service is always lovely, food outstanding. Ordered two starters and mussels could easily feed 2 people. Cant wait to go back!
The concept of wine drinking is unique ; wine fountain for a $20 card you fill your glass 1, 3 or 6 oz of your choice; wine by glass or wine by bottle and you pick it up on the wall. The atmosphere is very cozy and warm, tables not too close so more private, and they offer a private room seating up to 8 people. The service was attentive and food very tasty and unique; and even though they had entertainment(Thurs. Fri. and Sat.) the noise level was tolerable.
I had a wonderful meal at Red. I ordered 2 of the specials and a red wine. I had the leek soup as a starter, and the trigger fish entree. The trigger fish came with a lobster sauce and veal tortellini. It was very, very good. The prices are on the higher end, so this is a special occasion type of restaurant for me. I would recommend this restaurant.
Wondeful evening. Great food. Great drink. Live music. Fantastic!
Reds is always a great choice!!! They have live dinner music every night and never overwhelmingly loud. The chef comes out to see if you enjoyed your meal and is always very personable along with the rest of the staff. This is a hidden gem in Bluffton. If it was closer to Palmetto Bluff and old-town Bluffton, it would be jammed pack all the time.
Consistently great food with great customer service is the key!
Went early for a Father's Day celebration. My husband said the escargot and lamb were the best he has had in a very long time, to include the years he spent in Paris. High praise from a gourmand who eats just about anything, but never forgets a BAD meal. Our server was super kind and accommodating. I was there with my daughter and a friend of hers both of whom have some special needs, our server was kind, patient, and professional.
I recommend this to anyone. It is not cheap, so we won't do this too often. But we will be back!
Great restaurant. Slightly understaffed. The wine dispensing machine looked great, but it did not work properly. The machine was a distraction for restaurant staff and diners trying to use the machine. Get rid of it.
Excellent all around. The best duck ever had. Great wine selection and recommendation. A must to go to.
The wine tasting process is unique and a very enjoyable process. You are given a card that is loaded with the dollar amount you pick. You can then go to the dispensing windows and select the wine you want to taste. You can chose between three different quantities. It’s a self directed wine tasting. To top it off the food is very good. Over all a 5 Star Experience.
Loved this place - great wine selection as one would expect from a wine bar! The food was delicious and creatively served. Flatbreads were a big hit and the seafood chowder was great. Will definitely be back
We had never been here before and it was a great eat out experience.
The selection of wines by the glass is huge and they are for the most part bottles you haven’t heard of— but very good.
We recommend it highly.
The restaurant is a novelty because of the enomatic card that you purchase for various amounts. You can use the card for various ounces at at a wine dispenser. Insert the card, select the wine that is hooked up, & then select the ounces that you want. There were about 4 to try in each of the various “colors”, countrys etc. All those little tastings add up quickly. We bought one bottle that we liked, & even with the 20% “discount”, it was double the average price that I later found on -line!
Great atmosphere with lots of wine bottles & a private tasting room. The two servers were fabulous! We only had a filling app and the 4 cheeses plate (ok) so, we really can’t rate anything else. It was a fun thing to do—once!
My Wife and I enjoyed the place. My first time; her first time since the remodel and (I believe) new ownership from a year ago. Good atmosphere. Pleasant decor. Regular musicians every Thu, Fri, & Sat, but they play quietly enough everyone can still enjoy their conversations. Sharp staff; two individuals recognized my Wife and I from serving us at other locations in the past.
the Food was delicious, the service was great and we really enjoyed the music😊
The onion soup tasted like beef gravy, inedible. Mussels, some good, some bad. None of the employees who came to our table asked how food was. And everything was slow in coming.
The white wine I purchased with wine card was not chilled. My dinner of Chicken Kiev was room temperature in many spots. Not hot or even warm. The chicken was tough. The appetizer of baked Brie was very good.
Awesome night great food service was great as well
We will be back
First time and really enjoyed the food
