First time there. Nice ambiance except they seated 4 fairly noisy dudes near us. T shirts and flip flops - thought they had somewhere of a dress code. At least the sign says “appropriate attire required “. When you pay that kind of $ you expect a little more privacy.

Old school steakhouse. Love the comfy banquets and booths. I appreciate their overhead lighting has a pink tinged lens to take away the unnecessary brightness. Stiff cocktails, huge portions of food, and great service (Kris was a terrific server.) My feedback is to add a vegetarian entrée (not just sides) and better music.

Usually this is a neighborhood gem for me. If you go early enough, you can often escape being blasted by everyone's conversation except yours. Last night, the ribs were dry and overcooked. The "famous" prime rib was tasteless and tough. The wedge was great and the service was excellent. The noise level is very high. In short, it was a disappointing dinner out. If you are looking for a relaxing dinner and quiet conversation, look elsewhere. If you are looking for generous pours, din, and large portions, you might enjoy this restaurant.

This is one of those restaurants that does it right. Steaks are first quality and sides are great. Best Lobster Bisque you will ever have. Strong drink pours and great service. Only drawback could be the prices so be prepared to pay a little extra

We love this place. Great live music in the bar most nights, and don't let the old school look of the place (which I love) fool you; the food here is fantastic.

We went here for NYE dinner so it was louder and busier than usual. We had the prime rib, shrimp scampi and loaded baked potato. All were great and we had plenty of leftovers. Our meal with cocktails and a salad was around $200 with tip. Our server was friendly as well.

Our usual favorites were still on the menu and just as good as always.
Though the prices have increased, the portions were still generous and totally what we expected from past visits. Even though a bit pricey, the food is worth it. The service was fast and very friendly.

My husband and I were longtime residents of Solana Beach and used to frequent Red Tracton’s on special occasions. The food, service and atmosphere were top notch. We decided to go there with visiting family and it was beyond disappointing. The restaurant was drafty, the service was slow and the food (which is fairly expensive) did not live up to its prior standards. They were out of several items that we ordered, the waitress never checked in on us and the steak was lukewarm along with a few other items. I am not sure if Covid has affected this place but it was expensive and disappointing.

Has been a while since we were last at Red Tracton's. Looked like the interior had been renovated since our last visit and is very comfortable. The atmosphere remains with an essence of earlier times top restaurants, and the food lives up to the image. I had the Prime Rib, which was delicious. My wife had the Lobster Bisque, that was OK, but also the famed, huge fully-dressed baked potato which is possibly the best in the world. One of our favorites for important outings.

It was Thanksgiving and crazy busy! We did have some pretty big lag times in service and there were some extra tables squeezed in to accommodate the crowds. Despite it all, we were seated exactly at the time of our reservation and our request for a specific area was honored; our waitress was as sweet and prompt and personable as could be, considering the circumstances, and the food was excellent!

It’s pricey, but worth it!
We are never disappointed at Red Tracton’s.

Shame on the management team for overbooking on a holiday to make an extra buck!

We had a 5pm reservation, waited 50 minutes in a jammed packed foyer area with guests trying to enter or exit the restaurant. Clearly, there was not enough wait staff to handle all the large parties. Our dinner was finally served around 7:30pm, sadly the food was cold! I can only imagine how long our dinners were sitting in the kitchen before the waiter had time to serve it. There is nothing worse to waiting a ridiculous amount of time to be served cold filet mignon and au gratin potatoes.

The $90 Thanksgiving special was the biggest rip off. A plate with cold stuffing, mash potatoes, sliced Turkey and gravy with a side of cranberry sauce. The family members who ordered the special took a few bites and decided to take it home because they could not stomach eating a cold traditional thanksgiving dinner.

From a guest perspective, the management team/owners took advantage of loyal patrons on a holiday…under staffed, long wait times, unsatisfactory food and definitely overpriced for what you got.

Always a great time & meal at Red Tracton’s. Saturday evening of Breeders Cup so expected it to be busy and the noise level would be high but we were seated right away and service & food were great. Has the seafood pasta in the light cream sauce & always the salad with green goddess
