Red, the Steakhouse - Miami Beach Ratings and Reviews
We were seated in row-type seating, literally 2 feet from the next couple. They were actually participating in our conversation, which was extremely annoying, especially since we were there for our 10th anniversary dinner. The noise level is such that you have to yell to talk to the person you're with. I had the filet (grilled medium) which was done properly but had gristle in the meat, which was the first time I've ever encountered that in filet. All in all, it was very expensive and not a good experience. I would not recommend or return.
Our server ( wish I remembered her name) was OUTSTANDING! we were a party of 5, 2 tomahawk Ribeye on the bone, 2 orders of crab ;warm w butter, lobster, salad, onion soup, a ton of sides (mac and cheese was a winner), and many lychee martini's ..
Everyone was obviously well fed and happy. I would give it a 10 but a 9.5 will have to do:-)
the steaks although ordered medium rare and cooked perfectly were a little cooler temperature wise than I am accustomed to. I also have to say considering the enormous amount of food and cocktails we ordered the check was not surprising...would definitely return!
It started with no one at the hostess stand to greet us, took about 10 minutes for someone to show up even though the bartender saw us standing there. After we were seated, our server came to greet us, took our drink orders and then our dinner order. She came back to see how our appetizer was and then dinner was delivered by someone else. She did not come to see if the food was good. My steak had been ordered medium well and came out medium rare, my husband's steak had been ordered medium well and his came out medium and half the size of my steak even though we ordered the exact same steak. I had to find the manager to get the attention of our server to send my steak back. It came back delivered by someone else and she never came to check to see if it was cooked properly the second time. We ended up having to flag down the manager a total of three times as the server disappeared and only came back to our table after speaking to the manager each time. Even if the food had been spectacular, the service was so poor and you would think after flagging down the manager THREE times, he might have done something about her appalling attitude, but apparently he was not concerned with our experience either. We will not be going there a second time!
Food is very good but not as good as the price paid.
Service is not a top restaurant level, we felt like abandoned during the second part of our dinner.
We ordered cocktails and a bottle of wine, and we felt surprised because we received wine before cocktails.
We had to go to the front desk to ask for the check because our waitress was disappeared.
Not as good as our expectations for a top level restaurant called as one of the best places to eat a steak in Miami Beach.
New Year’s Eve 2017 - the food was all delicious, from the appetizers (the lemon garlic shrimp is a must-have) to the main courses (lamb chops and all steak was cooked and spiced to perfection). The service was also very seamless and polite and the ambiance was great! Portions were very big and the sides were amazing - we got a bunch to share for the table. Potato gratin and mushrooms with onions were the best! Only complaint was the set menu price which was $200 and was NOT advertised on OpenTable. Would definitely have liked to know that before sitting down. All that being said though, I would definitely return to Red next time I’m in Miami!
Visited for New Year's Eve and was unfortunately very disappointed. Plastic chairs and shaky, small tables were jammed in to the main dining area - felt like a backyard dining experience. Quality of food on prix fixe menu was underwhelming. My wife and I will make it a point to warn friends about dining here
An overall excellent experience. This was our second time there for New Years and it was impeccable like the first time. Compared to other high end places in the area, the service was consistently excellent and not rushed. Would definitely return for any occasion or random weekend. Highly recommend!
Very good experience, overall. Service was excellent, we got a daily special and weren't told the price, which was a little bothersome once the bill came. Filet was very good, a bit tough in the middle. Good drinks and attentive service, food was not quite the value for the price would be my only feedback.
Good ambiance and experience for a special occasion. This was to celebrate our engagement and Christmas.
TERRIBLE experience! It was the worst steakhouse ever! I ordered the ribeye and the waiter did not even asked me how I wanted the meat to be cooked, I needed to specify and after asking him specifically for medium well he still brought it almost rare... it was awful! I can’t believe a Steakhouse does not know how to get the cooking of a Steakhouse right! Do yourself a favor and AVOID this at all costs!
I’m really not sure how this restaurant is rated as one of the top steakhouses in South Beach . Waiter was unknowledgable, just really wasn’t interested in his job . Steak was less than average and girlfriends pasta was over cooked and not fresh .
Would never return to this restaurant and never recommend it .
Our family dines here quite often. This particular night the waiter ignored us a lot even though we were his only table. Salads arrived before we even got a cocktail as waiter was off chatting with fellow waiters. Then he served meal reaching across people to set plates instead of going around and setting them properly. He even dropped my husband rack of lamb onto the table as he was reaching completely across instead of walking around. He never even apologized
Out experience was disappointing. The food was poorly cooked and the place was more like a neighborhood pub than a steak house. Our waitress barely paid attention to us and we had to flag down a manager just to get a check. We definitely wouldn't go back. STK is a much better choice.
The food was mediocre at best. The steaks were the only thing that was phenomenal. The side were nothing unique or memorable. Spinach had no seasoning, mashed potatoes were bland, and the mac n cheese was under cooked. The cliche' experience of South Beach at a South Beach price tag $200+ per person.
Had a great meal here. Ordered the rib eye, Mac and cheese, spicy green beans, and foie gras for appetizer. Everything was delicious, including great bottle of wine. Waiter was very professional and water glasses were kept full by staff. Would definitely come back.
Red has definitely gone downhill over the last several years.
We listed on Open Table that this was a special occasion but this was essentially ignored so not sure why one would care to list this .
While there is a lot of great food options, for the price you pay, the food quality is unremarkable. More over, the steak should be cooked properly. As any steak lover knows, if a steak cooked much different than ordered, sending it back essentially ruins the steak and affects the overall dining experience. For the price, it should be done right.
Additionally, if you are going to pay $180 for a crab dish as we did, the crab should be prepared with excellence.
Service was great but it seems the location is much emptier as the years have gone on. We’ve been here many times but not likely to return. Very sad about that.
Lousy service. Had to ask twice for bread
Steak was ordered medium got it bleeding rare they took it back upon my complaining and brought exactly as it went to the kitchen
A side dish of sparagus was completely cold also sent back
Will never go back nor recommend this restaurant to anybody
Steaks were excellent as was the truffle mashed potatoes, but onion soup and mac & cheese were mediocre at best, especially for the prices being charged. The impression that I came away with from my dining experience was that the wait staff, at least the waiter we had, seemed to be disinterested unless you were ordering ultra expensive bottles of wine and other very expensive menu items such as raw seafood towers. The bill for my wife, daughter and me was over $300, yet I felt the friendliness and attentiveness was underwhelming.
The food and the service was excellent. My steak was cooked to perfection and it was one of the best I have had. The only problem I had was after we were finished with dinner and had cashed out we struck a conversation with a local. We were asked if we would move from our bar seats because some local regulars wanted our chairs. I know I was cashed out but we had spent $300 and probably would have spent more by sitting at the bar. To me that was bad customer service and would debate on coming back. But overall we were pleased with the dinner.
