Red, the Steakhouse - Miami Beach Ratings and Reviews
The food was great. The bone in filet was exceptional as were the sides ( spinach and truffle oil risotto) !
The wine Imposible was a great value and a good match for the food . The service was very attentive and great customer service all around. I asked for a quiet table for a birthday and was spot on. I have always had a great experience at Red . You can’t go wrong ....
Excellent steak restaurant and we enjoyed our meals except our porterhouse for 2 was not cooked enough and we sent back to actually cook medium/well as was originally ordered vs. the medium rare it came to the table on the first try.
Service okay not great as this is a vibrant and loud restaurant
Quality of food has one down quite a bit. First time I went I remember he steak was like butter and just melted in your mouth. Now it was over seasoned and just not very memorable. You can get a better steak in the beach for less than Red and much better quality.
We had reservations for 5 for dinner at 7 but arrived an hour early. We went to the bar and that’s where we ended up staying! Stephanie was our bartender and she was AWESOME! We enjoyed cocktails and a selection of appetizers Stephanie recommended before moving in the bone-in ribeyes.
Stephanie made the evening great but the food was also OUTSTANDING.
Kobe filet, king crab legs, and one of the best selections of wine on the beach... what are you waiting for? Pappy Van Winkle as an after-dinner drink? Yes, they have that too. Chef is amazing and the service is always 5-star. Thanks for another great evening in Miami. Cheers!
It was just my husband and I, you can expect a hefty bill.
The quality of the food is top notch but when paying these prices you expect perfection. We needed to ask for water on many ocassions. We each ordered a cocktail which was very good I wound up with the Spectre ($17) which was fabulous (wasn't crazy about the mojito). My husband had a dirty grey goose martini. We shared a Caesar salad and the the King Crab Cake, both were excellent. Here's where they went wrong my husband and I decided to share a steak dish and a fish dish. Both had an excellent taste but were not served hot and the steak was over done a little. We told the matre'd when he asked he did not offer to take back or cook another steak. Which I found unusually for this level of Steak house. Also desert was not comped either.
Many things on the menu are MK market price. Like a side of truffle rissoto is mk $49.
We ordered the creamed corn which came out super hot and was delicious. We had the deconstructed key lime pie which was good but unusually. And throughout the whole dinner I had to constantly ask for water.
Therefore our experience was ok but not great tax and tip $300 for 2.
We were seated in row-type seating, literally 2 feet from the next couple. They were actually participating in our conversation, which was extremely annoying, especially since we were there for our 10th anniversary dinner. The noise level is such that you have to yell to talk to the person you're with. I had the filet (grilled medium) which was done properly but had gristle in the meat, which was the first time I've ever encountered that in filet. All in all, it was very expensive and not a good experience. I would not recommend or return.
Our server ( wish I remembered her name) was OUTSTANDING! we were a party of 5, 2 tomahawk Ribeye on the bone, 2 orders of crab ;warm w butter, lobster, salad, onion soup, a ton of sides (mac and cheese was a winner), and many lychee martini's ..
Everyone was obviously well fed and happy. I would give it a 10 but a 9.5 will have to do:-)
the steaks although ordered medium rare and cooked perfectly were a little cooler temperature wise than I am accustomed to. I also have to say considering the enormous amount of food and cocktails we ordered the check was not surprising...would definitely return!
It started with no one at the hostess stand to greet us, took about 10 minutes for someone to show up even though the bartender saw us standing there. After we were seated, our server came to greet us, took our drink orders and then our dinner order. She came back to see how our appetizer was and then dinner was delivered by someone else. She did not come to see if the food was good. My steak had been ordered medium well and came out medium rare, my husband's steak had been ordered medium well and his came out medium and half the size of my steak even though we ordered the exact same steak. I had to find the manager to get the attention of our server to send my steak back. It came back delivered by someone else and she never came to check to see if it was cooked properly the second time. We ended up having to flag down the manager a total of three times as the server disappeared and only came back to our table after speaking to the manager each time. Even if the food had been spectacular, the service was so poor and you would think after flagging down the manager THREE times, he might have done something about her appalling attitude, but apparently he was not concerned with our experience either. We will not be going there a second time!
Food is very good but not as good as the price paid.
Service is not a top restaurant level, we felt like abandoned during the second part of our dinner.
We ordered cocktails and a bottle of wine, and we felt surprised because we received wine before cocktails.
We had to go to the front desk to ask for the check because our waitress was disappeared.
Not as good as our expectations for a top level restaurant called as one of the best places to eat a steak in Miami Beach.
New Year’s Eve 2017 - the food was all delicious, from the appetizers (the lemon garlic shrimp is a must-have) to the main courses (lamb chops and all steak was cooked and spiced to perfection). The service was also very seamless and polite and the ambiance was great! Portions were very big and the sides were amazing - we got a bunch to share for the table. Potato gratin and mushrooms with onions were the best! Only complaint was the set menu price which was $200 and was NOT advertised on OpenTable. Would definitely have liked to know that before sitting down. All that being said though, I would definitely return to Red next time I’m in Miami!
Visited for New Year's Eve and was unfortunately very disappointed. Plastic chairs and shaky, small tables were jammed in to the main dining area - felt like a backyard dining experience. Quality of food on prix fixe menu was underwhelming. My wife and I will make it a point to warn friends about dining here
