About Red Stag Supperclub
Welcome! The Red Stag Supperclub blends old school Wisconsin supper club charm with a contemporary passion for delicious, sustainable, farm-to-table food (CLICK HERE to see our menus). Located in the "Nordeast" Arts District just across the river from downtown, the Red Stag Supperclub opened its doors in November 2007 as the first LEED-CI Certified restaurant project in Minnesota. Red Stag serves brunch, lunch and dinner and has late night live music several nights a week. We accept reservations for half of our dining room and leave the other half open for walk-ins.

$5 Valet parking is available on busy nights when parking is limited. Street parking is free after 6pm on weekdays and all day Sat & Sun. Weekday metered parking is $0.25/hr.
After 6pm every night and all day Sat & Sun, free parking is also available in the HDMG parking lot (see parking map) as well as the Bank's Building parking lot.

Red Stag Supperclub Ratings and Reviews
My first time to Red Stag after my daughter said the food and ambiance was good. I thought the food was okay. The beef stroganoff left alot to be desired. The meat was fatty and the sauce not to my liking...more creamy would have been better. Our waiter was very good.
Very solid go to restaurant with good food (the duck special was outstanding, beef tips so, so), solid service and reasonable prices. They were quite busy when we were there but things did quiet down a bit after 9 or 930. Decent selection of moderately priced wines to go with your meal. Oh, great place to walk to also (is our neighborhood restaurant), so worth the walk.
Parking was a challenge not knowing the area but the service and ambiance was good! Food was adequate but not noteworthy. We did Saturday brunch. Noise level was low which we appreciated and very comfortable lingering beyond the meal to visit, even with a baby!
My partner and I visited Red Stag for a pre-theater meal and perhaps because it was early and a week night we had excellent service. Our server came to the table as soon as we were seated to take our drink orders and after giving us time to enjoy our drinks (Red Stag makes one of the best Sazeracs in the Twins Cities) she took our order. We received our food very quickly. Our only complaint with the food was the heavy use of the salt shaker for both entrees. The salmon was medium rare and tasty, served with roasted vegetables, some of which were under-done. The other fish entree also suffered from an overly generous application of salt. The panna cotta dessert was tasty. We have eaten at the Red Stag frequently over a number of years and will do so again but will likely request that the cooks go easy on the salt.
I want to like Red Stag. I have been here many times. The food is reliable and well prepared. (They have the best hashbrowns around.) But it suffers from kind of reliably poor service. After my most recent experience, I figured out I shouldn't blame the waitstaff. This seems to be a management problem. They always seem understaffed. You can attribute being short staffed once in a while to someone calling in sick, etc, but this is consistent and then one has to wonder about the management. They seem to have food runners and water fillers, but only a few waiters or waitresses to cover a large restaurant.
I was seated at my (reserved) table, got water poured by the manager within a few minutes, and then we sat there. We didn't see our waitress for 15 minutes. We went to the bar to order drinks after about 10 minutes of no contact and then we finally called the manager over to ask why we hadn't been served yet. He said, "We had a miscommunication about who has your table. " Weak. Once we had a waitress, she was great--attentive, pleasant. I always go back to the fact that I live in a city full of great restaurants. I've got plenty of choices, and I'm not sure I would choose Red Stag again.
We had an overall good experience. It was pretty busy, but our service was quite slow. Lots of waiting, and the server never stopped by to ask how our food was after it was served (one of our party didn't get part of what she ordered). We will go back, but probably in a smaller group and during the week.
I always have a great experience at Red Stag. I have been several times now all for different occasions (i.e. Birthdays, Brunch, Drinks, live music, etc.) Food is always great, and the atmosphere is very welcoming, warm, and unique. A great place to add to your dining watchlist.
Good time, food was good. Loved the mock-tail list. Not a place to go if your in a hurry. Service was a little too slow for my liking. We were trying to get to a show and had to ask the waitstaff to bring the check. Love the free sparkling water and the truffled kettle corn!!
We were seated right away but it took about 20 minutes before we could order. Then we waited about 1 hour for our food. Other than filling our water glasses, the attention paid to our table was poor and drink service was also slow. No one from the restaurant explained or apologized for the slow service. Very disappointing experience.
The event was based around an engagement celebration for family. Our table was ready even though we arrived was a tad early. The staff is very gracious and attentive. Everyone loves the food and how it was prepared. The salmon was the freshest I have ever tasted. The shrimp risotto was a delight. Thank you for making our evening so special!
I have always loved to ambiance of Red Stag: comfortable, engaging, welcoming. We went this week to celebrate my son's birthday. As usual, the food was great. Unfortunately, the service was slow and the server was somewhat surly. We will go back and give them another try however.
Service and general prep was awful. On a Saturday night the bar ran out of a key ingredient in two of its "featured" cocktails, so they were unavailable. I ordered a Beefeater gibson, out of Beefeater, so had an alternative gin and it came back undrinkable. Sent it back and still got charged. It took 45 minutes to even get our dinner order taken. Ordered wine with dinner that made it there half way through the main course. These people do not know what they are doing. That said, food was good once it got there.
My friend ask me to reserve for brunch for his birthday. I made the reservation at 11:45 am on Sunday August 6. When we arrived sharply (group of 5) the host (very nice) says that they are closing in 15 min for a block party and if we want to eat it would have to be within those 15 minutes.
The brunch plan was obviously a disaster, we had to leave and find another spot. They had my phone number, if they knew they were closing A) Is it so difficult to call me in advance to let me know? B) Why do they allow to make reservations at 11:45 if then you have 15 min to eat?
Very unpleasant experience.
Second time there. First time was enjoyable but this time service was terrible. The food took forever to get out. The waitress left us after serving the entree and didn't return until after another waiter came to clear our meal.
My boyfriend and I were looking for a Mpls "cheap date night" to celebrate our 6 month anniversary. The website doesn't clarify that it would be a limited menu (I suggest calling that out) but the pork bolognese was delicious. My boyfriend didn't love the wine (red) but I did! We sat on the patio. I would definitely go back.
Went for brunch for the first time and their menu had so many good looking items it was hard to decide. Chose the chicken and waffles and wow! Delicious! Would definitely recommend this place for all sorts of events. Nice ambiance, great food, attentive service!
We took my parents to Red Stag prior to the BillyJoel concert to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Great food, drink and atmosphere. The blue gill, walleye and lamb burger were all outstanding. They have a solid happy hour too is you are there early enough (ends at 6pm).It was a $7 Uber ride to get to Target Field. We will be back!
Horrible. First of all when I got there, there was no host or hostess so it was seat yourself. I had no idea how I was going to be able to confirm I checked in for the reservation I had set. All the tables were dirty and had not been bussed after people had eaten and left. So I sat at a dirty table because I had no choice. I was seated for about 9 minutes and no server came to my table to see if I needed anything. The place wasn't packed and there were 3 active servers and one bartender also filling in on the floor. I got up and left and no one even noticed. I've been to red stag so many times and I never was able to say great things about the service but this by far is now a reason to never return to that restaurant ever again.
