Red Stag Supperclub Ratings and Reviews
Excellent! Service was great and our food was awesome. I had the chicken, very tasty, tender & juicy with yummy Brussels sprouts. My friend had a vegetarian entree (harvest platter?) with grits & cauliflower and he loved it. I forget about this place but it's very good. In fact I'm going to come back again soon because I kept thinking about that amazing chicken. Valet is only $5 & they will add to your tab which is so convenient if you don't have cash.
There was a cold breeze blowing on our table, we were all freezing. Manger was trying to get the heat working, it was pretty awful to be so cold. Server was a bit short with us, we had alot of questions, she didn't pay close attention at the end to bring bill/pick up bill.
I think a different night (not such cold weather), different table (no air blowing on us), little more friendly server, it would have been a great night. The food was very good.
We have been here several times but had mostly eaten at the bar. I had some friends in town and thought It would be a great place for some good food and atmosphere. Something must have been off. Our first round of cocktails took so long to arrive that the ice was almost melted away. 30 min after arriving I had to ask to get our food order in. 25 min later I asked where the appetizers were only to learn they were left off the order. They did get them in and expedited but I also asked they she didn’t delay the main courses at this point. She said she wouldn’t but it was another 30 min to get those out. The food was good as usual expect the two steak orders came with cold mash potatoes.
The manager never came over but at least she did not charge us for the appetizers. With so many great restaurant choices Down town. It will be a while before we would ever want to hear back to the Red Stag
The food is always wonderful at the Stag. Our server was totally out to lunch. Waited 15 minutes to see her after being seated. Then at every point in the dinner we waited 5-10 minutes longer than what is ecceptable.
Had to flag down other employees to order our desert and to get our bill. It was so bad it was almost comical.
Still, we love the food, love the menu, will come back. But if we get her again will switch seates.
The Waitress seemed out of it and not attentive. She dropped a tray of drinks on us and forgot to bring our second round of drinks until she was reminded to bring them to us. The lamb special was over cooked and dried out. My wife had to go and get Silverware for 1/2 of the table when they didn’t bring it back after it was taken away with the appetizer.
And throughout all of this the manager was nowhere to be seen.
I have been to this restaurant many times and it was a very bad experience. The brunch is great. I don’t think I will ever go back for dinner.
My friend and I had a very nice time at the restaurant. The food was quite good. Our server was attentive without being annoying. We enjoyed our soup and salad and then an entree. We had a great conversation and didn't feel rushed. Our server was great from start to finish.
The food we ordered was no more than "good." The prices seemed high for soup, a hamburger and a sirloin. There was nothing special enough to me to encourage me to return. I'm sad to say that because I really make it a priority to patronize local businesses, especially those offering locally sourced ingredients.
My first time to Red Stag after my daughter said the food and ambiance was good. I thought the food was okay. The beef stroganoff left alot to be desired. The meat was fatty and the sauce not to my liking...more creamy would have been better. Our waiter was very good.
Very solid go to restaurant with good food (the duck special was outstanding, beef tips so, so), solid service and reasonable prices. They were quite busy when we were there but things did quiet down a bit after 9 or 930. Decent selection of moderately priced wines to go with your meal. Oh, great place to walk to also (is our neighborhood restaurant), so worth the walk.
Parking was a challenge not knowing the area but the service and ambiance was good! Food was adequate but not noteworthy. We did Saturday brunch. Noise level was low which we appreciated and very comfortable lingering beyond the meal to visit, even with a baby!
