Great experience. Good servers were great. Manager so helpful
Food was excellent. Staff was top shelf. Staff attended to every detail that made our dinner special.
My husband and I were there for our anniversary. We had the maple glazed bacon for and appetizer and it was delicious! For our entree, we shared the porterhouse for 2 and it was just OK. I guess we had very high expectations based on what we have been told and read about the aging process of the meat. For dessert, we shared the toasted coconut layered cake. It was so good!!
The overall was experience was nice. The staff were all very friendly and attentive! We thought it was a great touch that the restaurant gave us an anniversary card signed by the staff. Thank you for a special night!
Excellent food. Diminished by terrible service
Last week, me and my wife made our second visit to Red Salt Room. It was a confirmation of what we experienced on the first visit: beautiful dining areas, very attentive service and truly excellent food! I would especially recommend the various seafood menu offerings. I'll be back! LOL
Not a good night -
Very loud, poor service
Great place to go for a special occasion & they try to accommodate as best as they can. I will definitely be going back.
Poor service, odd ambiance, music from neighboring ballroom heard within restaurant, food subpar and overpriced across the board. Had the overall feeling of a casino restaurant. Wish I had my $300 and 3 hours spent back.
While the service was fine, the chicken was returned due to being overlooked, and the steak was tasteless.
Great experience. Very good service and the food was excellent. Would definitely recommend
Excited to go to this restaurant, but our excitement quickly turned to disappointment. We had a 6:30 pm reservation, sat down and it took 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive. We ordered off of the Restaurant Week menu and one hour later our first course arrived. My husband ordered the jumbo shrimp cocktail only to realize that there was one medium size shrimp cut into 5 tiny pieces and two tails were on the bottom of this dish. The second course my husband ordered, was the flat iron steak and I ordered the branzino, his steak was in edible as it had a strong biting flavor. My branzino was dry and tasteless, with a few red grilled pepper slices on the plate. Dessert was a Chocolate dome which was good and a 1/4 inch thick slice of carrot cake for my husband. We had cappuccino & a double espresso with dessert. Out of all the restaurant weeks we have experienced, I would say this stands out as the absolute worst! The portions & quality were not there at this meal considering we were dining in the Garden City Hotel. David Burke, this was sad to say the least. Our guests were equally disappointed in their meals as well.
The service was great, food was amazing! Will definitely be back.
We came here to celebrate Mother’s Day early, and was restaurant week. I tried to move my reservation to an hour later but told the place was fully booked. We arrived and sat by the wall which was way too dim and dark for 6pm dinner crowd. Also, the hotel had a party going next room with LOUD heavy beat music that our party could hear thru the wall. I asked to changed to a different table away from the wall and told the waiter & hostess that the party was really loud. The hostess was kind of annoy b/c she told us that the restaurant was fully booked and really cannot move us party of 4. But she did point to a round table next to us that sit 5/6 pp. we moved over. Then the restaurant started turn on & up the volume of music to drown out the party music which made it worst with all the competing noise. Besides the noise and darkness in the dining room, the food is first class & delicious. The service was good. Our water glasses were filled often. When we were done, I saw the restaurant is not full and there were empty tables for 2 or 4 pp. I’m kind of annoy with the hostess comments that she couldn’t accommodate our request to change a table earlier on.
Terrific array of amazing food and drinks. The atmosphere is first class - as is the price. An experience to be had at least once a year - Garden City Hotel is always a delightful place to visit. Service was polite and attentive - buffet style serving.
We love this restaurant. We come here for all our special occasions. In fact we got engaged while we were here for Sunday brunch! We love this restaurant!
I never write bad reviews, but I have to make an exception for my experience at Red Salt Room, as I was served raw pork. And while the waiter apologized and said, "The chef is sorry, but wants you not to worry as we buy only very clean pork," he didn't even remove the price of the pork from our final check—just removed a dessert instead (a dessert we didn't want and only ordered because the waiter insisted we order one because they were going to go "over the top" to make things right after the pork). Really disappointing.
My niece and I decided to give the Red Salt Room à try during restaurant week and it was simply amazing . Great food , nice ambience and awesome service . Will be going back for sure .
We dined at Red Salt during restaurant week, that said, they were very busy. Unfortunately, we were seated near the adjoining room which was hosting a "dentists/oral surgeons" meeting. My daughter who is very squeemish, could clearly see the slides on their screens, which truly was "un-apealing" for anyone who wanted to eat dinner. Aside from that hideous mistake, the waiter was terrific, the wine list was excellent and the prix fix "restaurant week" dinner was very good.
This was restaurant week so there was a special menu. While the value was good and food was excellent, we thought the portions were a little light compared to past experiences at the Red Salt Room.
Although my birthday was not acknowledged even though we told them, the food was excellent and so was the service. I will definitely go back. Loved it!!!
The food, our waiter Steven, and the ambience all contributed to a perfect evening.
Great dinner and great service. Value was great since we went during Restaurant week
This place is a hidden gem in Garden City. The service from the very beginning when entering the hotel to the very end. The food was simply amazing. The Chef put a twist in traditional meals. The ambiance is enchanting. Great vibe and beautifully decorated. Can't wait to return!
I enjoyed the restaurant week menu, would have enjoyed a bit more on the plate, pasta or potato. Had an excellent waitress!!
Perfect meal and cant wait to go back.
Delicious food, excellent waitstaff, great ambiance and best of all strong drinks! We went during Long Island restaurant week and we had a great meal! Definitely recommend.
What a lovely place. We went with friends to enjoy restaurant week. The menu was great. The Bronzino was delicious as were the salads and shrimp gazpacho appetizers. The other fish entree was a bit bland and dry. Desserts were delicious. The wait staff was pleasant but not overly attentive. For example, they could have offered additional coffee. Overall a lovely evening.
It was my husband’s birthday and we celebrated with his family. It was wonderful. Food was great and the service excellent. Love it!
The food was creative and delicious. Service impeccable and very accommodating. We were fortunately there for Restaurant, but would definitely go back for a special occasion.
We were there for Restaurant week. We were sat at 6pm did not see our first course till 6:45. Waiter never checked on us. We watched other tables receive their food while we just sat and waited for ours.
We had to flag down our waiter when our dessert arrived for after dinner drinks. It took 3 hours for our mean from start to finish We watched other tables come after us and leave before us.
At least the food was good but the service just forget it! Don't think I would dine in the David Burke Restaurant again. I would stick to the bar if anything.
Not very happy with our service at all. They better get it together!
Red Salt Room participates in Restaurant Week so we decided to try it. For $30 we got three courses - shrimp in gazpacho (sauce could have been thicker), branzino, and dessert. We each had a glass of wine - $17. The service is excellent. The room was chilly but warmed up when more people came in. The decor is lovely - flowers and red salt wall.
We were there for about 1 hour and a half and I felt we were rushed a little - other tables that ordered off the regular menu seemed to get their food more slowly.
The prices are high on the regular menu - but the restaurant week gave us a taste of the food and service.
Not at all what we expected. A Three Ring Circus of backwards ball cap wearing fools. Noise level reminds of an auto race.
Place was very good. Didn't know that there was no doggie bags. We had a lot of food left over and was never asked if we wanted to take it home, the bus boy just took the food away, . When we had desert we we never asked if we wanted coffee or tea, we had to ask the waiter, then when we received the coffee it was cold and we had finished our dessert. Overall we had a good experience.
Service was very slow, and they made stupid excuses, like, 'We have a large party in the other room." Really? At the Garden City Hotel? How unexpected...
I loved DAVID BURKE AND DONATELLA so this was disappointing. It’s a rather dark place with black “leather” tablecloths. The steak came out too well done and the fish was salty. The waiter was terrific until we had a problem and then stayed away. “The house” accommodated us, so that was ok. Although we didn’t order it, who would want bacon as an appetizer??
I have visited this restaurant three times. The first time it was wonderful, the second time was ok but this visit the service was great but the food was not. My son's porterhouse was delicious but my ribeye and butter poached lobster was horrible. I am not going back. Was not worth the price.
Wonderful dinner in every way! Highly recommend this restaurant! Fantastic!
Absolutely hands down the best service I’ve had in my life, and I’ve dined everywhere from Mastros NYC, Angelica’s Kitchen, to Capital Grill. Today changed my thoughts of dining and service. Douglas our Waiter was and is a complete gentleman. The type of person that makes you feel like your with family that you actually like. Our surf and turf appetizers were from another world, lobster better than the Manhattan Ocean Club used to serve, and steaks that were so tender, chewing was optional. There have been few times in my life that I felt a need to review, this is one of those times. I’ve been to quite a few Michelin restaurants over the years, and Per Se was my favorite, until today. David Burke has created the perfect family dining experience, and the food speaks for itself. Pricing was extremely reasonable, and the value of service and food taste cannot be measured. Today was Easter Sunday 2019, and as much as you would think you would get acceptable food and service, I don’t think this is the place for anything less than Exceptional!! Five Stars Seven Days A Week.
The food was amazing! The staff was great, and our drinks never got below 1/2 way. So worth it!
