Thank you David & staff for a great night. We celebrated a birthday. We rarely eat red meat but had the filet mignon which was wonderful. Great service, low noise, nicer music, nice table separation. Clam setting which is wonderful after a hectic day.
The service was outstanding and the restaurant is beautiful. The food was tasty and I would definitely recommend for a special occasion.
Overpriced, slow and inexperienced service. Two couples had 2 porterhouse steaks. Steaks were ok not seared well.
We asked for hot water that didn’t come. Bill was over $500 with 3 glasses of wine. Meal easily was over 3 hours for only 2 steaks and 2, salads.
Very surprised as we frequent David Burke’s NYC restaurants
The appetizers were average. The main meal was very good And they were out of our favorite desert which was the apple tart
This is actually the first time we’ve eaten in a restaurant with a “celebrity “ chef that DIDN’T disappoint! The food was amazing and unusual. The service was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable.
We were searching for a restaurant on OpenTable and were surprised to see that David Burke opened a place on Long Island, so we decided to give it a try. Upon arriving at the Garden City Hotel, a venue we hadn't visited in quite a few years, we were greeted by a friendly valet who took our car and were ushered into the lobby where the restaurant is located. The hotel itself was much improved from the last time we had an event there, and from the lobby, the David Burke bar and restaurant looked really nice. The aesthetic only got better as we approached the host desk, with beautiful red salt bricks adorning the walls and decor. The dining room itself is beautifully appointed with dark wood and leather topped tables. The cocktails were delicious and the service was great. We thoroughly enjoyed our food, which consisted of short rib and lobster dumplings, onion rings, steak and fish. Red Salt Room is a hidden gem on Long Island that we will surely frequent again!
Terrible services where they got our orders wrong. When I asked, waiters/manager looked annoyed that we even asked for the right order. Food quality was poor was poor overall. I do not recommend this place at all. Unfortunately because of this experience, even though we had been to Red Salt Room for dinner before and had a pleasant time,we will never return to the restaurant.
They should learn how to do afternoon tea right or just don’t offer it at all!
Although our server greeted us by name so we felt special, the service in general was on the slow side
Server was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable
Great food and service! Menu was extensive, so much to choose from no matter what you preferences are. Great place to celebrate special events.
We were celebrating my husbands birthday and New Years Eve.
Loved the restaurant, the choices and the service. Unfortunately our mains (poached lobster and ribeye) came out lukewarm not hot. When asked by our very attentive waiter, how our meal was, we shared that our side dishes came out very hot, however, our mains were not hot, but still delicious. He apologized and five minutes later the manager Michael came by and said he would like to offer us a discount off our dinner plus dessert or an after dinner drink. He said it is unacceptable to have a meal served that’s not hot.
We thanked him and even though we did not want dessert or an after dinner drink, my husband said “although our meal was not as hot as we would have liked, you have turned a great dinner an exceptional customer experience”!
We will definitely be back!
The new David Burke restaurant at the King Bar and now defunct Polo Room is Red Salt. Beautiful renovation in the main dining room. I didn't notice much of a change in the bar and area, but the 20 minute after reservation wait nearly ruined the seating. The menu is a bit limited and a bit tough for the plainer eater and the adventurous diner. Dishes and glasses are well chosen. Appetizer and salads were sometimes too creative but delicious. The main dishes "STEAK" and then some other ideas. The Branzino was nicely prepared but not crisped. The dessert menu also took a bit of navigation but the Cheesecake Lollipops were presented very creatively. The 3 flavors were terrific.
New Year's Eve coffees were complimentary , not sure if that is a normal thing. Cookies were an extra bit of love. Service was knowledgable and caring.
great spot , food was good. would come back menu selection could more robust. overall it was a good family dinner for new years eve
Nice and different. The bacon on a clothesline was excellent. A must try.
We enjoyed our dinner/date night at Red Salt Room. While the menu is a bit limited and I was pretty disappointed in my cocktail, everything else was very good. The bacon clothesline appetizer is not to be missed! The Pear & Provolone salad was underdressed (and I like very little dressing, but this was practically non existent). The porterhouse for two was delicious as were the creamed spinach & onion ring sides. The service was great, everyone we encountered was very pleasant and attentive. Overall we enjoyed it!
I had to send back my salmon entree over done and when I got the second it was also over done but I did not return it ate only 1/4 of it. The dumpling appetizer was way too expensive. We ordered an additional 2 because there were 3 of us. This order was 60 dollars. Ridiculous price, not very good, definately not worth the price! Lastly my daughter ordered the 2 pound angry lobster. No way was it a 2 pound lobster. after taking out all the meat from the shells, the amount of meat was not what a 2 pounder should yield. It was sent back and she chose another entree. When the server said that the flavors were good though, he was incorrect, they were not. For an expensive restaurant in the Garden City Hotel this restaurant falls far below expectations.
Though our server was wonderful, the kitchen sent food out too quickly. Our appetizers were being taken off the table and our entrees were already being served. Why were they rushing us? My husband's steak was mediocre and my salmon was tasteless. The dumplings and bacon however were wonderful. We were very disappointed.
Very good experience overall
The food was delicious and the staff was excellent. I would definitely come back to this restaurant.
Christmas Eve. The restaurant should have a dress code. In the only 4 Star Hotel on Long Island, there is no reading baseball caps/hats should not be allowed in the King Bar and in the Red Salt Dining Room. A notice should be posted at the receptionist and on line. Cell phones should not be permitted in the Red Salt Dining Room. It’s annoying to look around the dining room and see people not talking no less with a blue glare in their faces. Furthermore jeans, sweat pants and hoodies should not be allowed in the Dining Room. To pay these prices and sit next to someone in a jogging suit and hoodie on their cell phone the entire time is absurd. There should be a standard.
Start to finish this was BAD. Service was awfu;l. Bacon on a stick was all fat. Steak was not prepared properly. Fish was oversalted. Onion rings were soggy. DO NOT GO HERE.
The restaurant was elegant the service was great the app portions were to laugh at and the prices a bit high but the quality great. The noise level for this restaurant was like a loud gym.
Good location. Ample parking including valet. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Ambience is lovely however dim. Food was gourmet quality and delicious. Party of six recommends bacon on clothesline, pork chops and branzino. Wait staff was attentive and well versed with the menu and drinks. I would rate them a 9 out of ten simply because I believe in always allowing room for improvement. *Special note to persons of color. Feel free to dine here as we (African Americans) were treated with the utmost kindness and respect. Our waiter was named Andres. Thank you all for making our birthday celebration very special and most memorable.
Three of us had reservations on Saturday night and were seated right away. Hostess was lovely and our waiter Dane was absolutely great. He was knowledgeable about wine and made suggestions about the food menu as well. So the food, we expected much more. My husbands short ribs were tough and dry if you can imagine that. Falling off the bone and mouth watering is what you'd expect but not even close. They were horrible and my husband is not a picky eater! The other person in our party had the chicken which was good and I had the lamb chops which were good. The cauliflower side was good and we had the couch potatoes which were lukewarm and just ok, cute name though. Unfortunately we will not be back because the food just wasn't up to par.
Fine food in a fine environment, although a bit noisy. Bacon clothesline is special. The filet and duck were each great. Dumplings good and unique. Oysters Rockefeller non-traditionally done with fried oyster on top of spinach, but still good. Professional and attentive service.
Our first impression was food and presentation thereof was excellent. By early morning myself and wife had stomach issues and could not to go work so there was an issue with the food. We both ordered and shared appetizers, vegetables and desserts. The mains were not shared and were excellent. Lobster and steak dishes. Although mentioned twice my wife's birthday was not acknowledged in anyway so do not go for celebrating an occasion. We will not be going back.
The restaurant is lovely and service impeccable. However, due to dietary restrictions the menu was too limiting for me. In addition, we were celebrating our anniversary and although it was listed on my reservation, nothing was done to acknowledge it. That was disappointing.
We would love to return but will only come when the restaurant first opens. The noise level was way to loud for any conversation.
Everything was delicious and the service was impeccable. They all went out of their way to make my birthday dinner special
My cousin and her husband drove up from FL for some holiday cheer! I couldn’t wait for them to experience Red Salt Room! The food and drinks were on point and the Service outstanding! Everything on Chef David Burke’s menu is a party for your mouth! Get to Red Salt Room for a fabulous dining experience.
The food is fantastic. The service could be better, but certainly not a reason to miss out on this absolutely delicious brnch!
Average quality food. While service was decent, nothing impressive. Hostess had serious attitude. It’s Long Island, not NYC, but they did not seem to know that
Great experience! Food was excellent and our waitress was great!
Went for Anniversary. Service was excellent. Food was average. Loved the bacon appetizer. They were very nice and gave us a dessert for Anniversary
Dinner with family and friends who we had not seen in a long time.
I’ve been there twice and both times the food and service were outstanding. I can’t wait to go back.
Excellent Anniversary dinner. Seated next to a lovely couple also celebrating an anniversary and they actually shared the delicious Bacon on a Clothesline with us which was so sweet.
Outstanding service and food! Will be back!!
Best restaurant in Long Island
our server Steven was very efficient and experienced
Most elegant restaurant I have had the pleasure of dining at in quite some time. The staff was superb, the waiter was friendly and attentive yet very professional. The food was mouth wateringly scrumptious and perfectly prepared, desert was artfully plated and creative. I will be back and have made recommendations to all my friends, very memorable!!!!!
The food, ambiance and service at Red Salt were excellent! My husband and I went there for an anniversary dinner this past weekend and upon arrival we were presented with a hand written anniversary card and offered a special dessert at the end of our meal which was a very thoughtful and gracious touch. clothes line bacon is a signature appetizer and a must try! I ordered the fillet mignon and it was super tender and perfectly cooked. Loved the couch potatoes too!
