Great experience! We were in Charlotte for one night and decided to try Red Salt because it was at our hotel. So glad we did! The food was unique and delicious. We couldn't get enough of the hipster hushpuppies. And our server, Grace, was WONDERFUL! She is a gem!

It was AMAZING. The food was delicious, fresh, and the presentation was fabulous. The server, Grace, was amazing. I have NEVER had a server like her. She was attentive, proactive, responsive, everything you can think of. She was awesome. Went ABOVE AND BEYOND!!! I hope when I go back she's there.

We went to Red Salt on a special date night - and they delivered! Everything was lovely. Grace made the pace of our meal leisurely, and remixed my drink when it was too sweet. The tuna taco appetizer was great, the short ribs were wonderful, but the tin can red velvet cake was life changing!

Waitress was great - best service we’ve had in a while. Hostess was not at all friendly. Food sounded better than it tasted except for the Brussels Sprouts - they were amazing.

The lobster dumplings are delicious! We also enjoyed the burger and the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. Make sure to order the caramelized apple tart dessert. It is amazing!

I was excited to try this place. David Burke makes great food. Unfortunately, this was not a great first visit to this restaurant.
The restaurant was about 1/3 full. They seemed to have enough staff to properly take care of the dining room (which is great considering covid). We ordered drinks from the bar and it took 20 minutes to get them. The appetizers were on the table before our drinks were….. apps were delicious (the octopus is awesome).
The real bummer is to order a steak, which Burke is known for, and have it come out cooked incorrectly. I ordered medium rare - the most popular temp. I got medium well. It came out the second time rare. My table was finished with their entrees so I gave up and just ate what I could. I asked our server to remove it from the bill because I didn’t get to eat with my party.
I’ll give them another shot, and I really hope they can deliver. If you’re going to pay that much for a steak, it should be what you order.

For diners who appreciate sophisticated food without the pretense, this is an excellent choice. Well-chosen and prepared menu, as good as eating in a sophisticated restaurant in New York or San Francisco. The wine selection is well thought out. My Salmon was prepared perfectily, flaky and moist inside with a nice scold on top. Lovely sauce around the plate. Deserts were lovely. Recommend the apple gallette.

Great meal but restaurant definitely needs to work on service. As far as the food goes, everything was excellent! We had the laundry line of bacon, octopus and chorizo kebabs, and lobster dumplings as an appetizer. Everything was super tasty. We had a larger group, so everyone ordered a different entree: Red Salt Chicken, Skirt Steak & Shrimp and Grits, the Ribeye, short ribs. However, I will say that I found it frustrating that I tried calling the restaurant every day and on the day of our reservation, during restaurant hours, before. I even left a message. No one returned my call. I was trying to understand the corkage fee and just ended up giving up. For an upscale restaurant, I expect better. but again, overall the actual experience and meal was great.

Grace our server was the highlight of the evening. She was fantastic. We visited on Queen's feast, probably a mistake, as we ordered the ribeye, ran out, ordered the tomahawk steak for $120, ran out, then we were offered the filet for large upcharge. It was not even reasonable, but fortunately the manager substituted the filet with no extra charge. The food was very good and very presentable.

We expected it to be so much better. I could blame it on restaurant week but we were the second seating of the night. Steak was cooked perfectly, but arrived cold and had some odd bbq sauce swiped on the plate, tasted like a Harris teeter brand bottle, but gave some moisture to the cold dry steak. I had to salt my macaroni and cheese to derive any flavor whatsoever. Dessert was cake in a cup, the cup was massively hot - cake totally cold. Service was fantastic. Appetizers were good but it’s hard to mess up mozzarella and a tomato - or the bacon (which was also cold when it arrived). Very disappointed.

Our third time here over just as many months. Everything remains excellent. All the food was wonderful. The shrimp on the shrimp and grits were a little too salty but this was a odd thing as the previous times I have been here they have been perfect. Grace was our table server and she is excellent and just added to our remarkable experience. Highly recommend Red Salt.

Well, I have been anxious to try this restaurant, it looked spectacular, and being more expansive, I decided to give it a try during Queen's Feast. I was sooo dissapointed. First of all, the hostess seemed like she was depressed, no smile, no hello... and a lot of the staff was completely dissinterested. I went with the Queen's Feast special for 35$ (with extra 8$ for the bacon and extra for the dessert as well) and my husband went à la carte. I have to say the lobster dumplings were fabulous, and that's it. Overall, the food was very ordinary, the bacon very thick and hard to chew, and the spinach and mushrooms side was soo salty, was not able to eat it. Furthermore, the restaurant being in the Meridien Hotel, had to pay $15 parking on top.
Many much better restaurants in Charlotte in the same price range.

The pork shank was fabulous. My girlfriend said the grilled sirloin was cooked to perfection. Everyone has to have the cheesecake lollipop for dessert.
Our waitress Grace and Joselyn were amazing.

First time visiting RedSalt during restaurant week after it was changed from Evoke. Overall experience was OK. Hostess was not friendly at all but our waiter was very nice.

Food was good but we found ourselves having to fight off a fly/gnat during most of our meal. Was impressed more with the cocktails than the food.

Could just be the transition back post-COVID but we had a much better experience at Evoke back in 2019 vs Red Salt now.

Visited during Restaurant week, what an extreme disappointment. With less than 25% of tables occupied, took an hour and 15 minutes before we got our appetizer. Food was lackluster with hush puppies being served over cooked, along with cold steak. While some restaurants that are located in hotels excel, overall this was a very disappointing experience.

Service, despite the hour and the restaurant not terribly busy ( empty tables) was slack. Food was good, server was engaging, but no sweetener for tea until asked for the second time, long time to get check and have the card run. Asked for a different table, as ours was in the traffic pattern, and our request was declined…..reservations coming in soon, cannot move you….so we had a view of a broken shelf in the wine refrigerator.
Likely will not return.

Visited Red Salt restaurant by David Burke. Limited bar stock. Had the clothesline bacon. 3 nice 1/4" thick slices. The octopus & chorizo was oily, the chorizo over, the octopus nicely done. Main of bone-in aged ribeye nice mid-rare. Side of parmesan fries freshly prepared. Side of hush puppies were over, hard and charred. Side of bloody mary onion rings was actually a ring of dough deep fried and dry. Strawberry shortcake biscuit was not fresh and consequently dry. Minimal dice of one strawberry and dollop of whipped cream. The G M, Stephen, stopped by the table, a nice touch. Grace was an experienced server with her trainee Allie in tow. They were professional and attentive. Owner D Burke, needs to revisit and shape up Red Salt kitchen brigade

Great atmosphere with stylish restaurant decor and excellent service. The steak and salmon entrees were excellent including the awesome mac n cheese side dish, along with the tasty chocolate cake in a cup dessert.

My only disappointment was the mozzarella salad and the watermelon salad on the Queen’s Feast menu which were both small with bitter greens and no salad dressing. Wish I had ordered the Clothesline Bacon which looked amazing.
