Everything solid even though nothing blew me away. Two highlights were the crispy brussel sprouts and the onion jam with the steak. .. they were ridiculously good. Limited menu due to Thanksgiving but would return to try new things.
Josh our server and Lawrence the manager where very attentive, especially to our dietary needs. They were fun and checked backed several times. We had an amazing time and the food was delicious!
Rarely when we go Uptown to eat would we pick a restaurant on the outskirts of the city, but Red Salt was well worth it! The presentation and taste of the Clothesline Bacon appetizer was a great way to start the meal, the Bone-in Ribeye and Pork Shank we outstanding and plenty big enough for a meal the next day. If you like Chocolate you must get the Red Velvet for two - it was the best desert I have ever had at a restaurant and easily could have been a meal all by it self - and the way it is presented with the "cake batter" as a tasting before the whole desert comes out was very unique.

Friendly, courteous and very exquisite atmosphere. I think you should impose a dress code just because the ambience and service demands it. Food was absolutely delicious and the staff was outstanding! My wife and I were celebrating our 10th Wedding Anniversary and the table was in a nice quiet corner with rose petals on the table. The food was prepared exactly the way we requested and it was soooo good. I had made reservations somewhere else, but I went down for some coffee and tea to go and the bartenders were so nice. I overheard them talking about the Lobster wontons to another customer. I really loved the decor and
since I was already staying at the Le Meridien, I decided to cancel my reservations and make them for RedSalt! So glad I did!

Our food was delightful, from the popovers to the burrata to the steak to the lamb. My party of five loved everything and we will be back. Great service, too.

Food was mediocre. If this wasn't in a hotel it wouldn't last a year.
This renowned chef and restaurateur did not disappoint. The ambience fit the food and the service and all tied in nicely. I felt comfortable with the physical distancing and the staff was appropriate. Really liked the fish special, and all the food was prepared nicely and was tasty. The dessert menu was the star of the evening and the cake for two was really for 6 and we ate every bit!!
Phenomenal dinner experience. Four of us attempted to both try many of the appetizers and main courses and it was a bit much, but worth the effort. Special note of the bacon appetizer and tuna tacos which were both amazing. The Cioppino with squid-ink pasta was the best I have ever tasted (and I am a big fan) and the pork shank was also outstanding. Great service also from our waitress, Ellie. Red Salt is a great add to the Charlotte restaurant scene.

Food was over priced and not great. My filet mignon I ordered medium rare and it came out well done. The dessert was bland and ordinary.

The service was the BEST PART! Food was good. The pork shank is recommended as being SO awesome, it reminds you of an expensive turkey leg in which you can’t decipher the taste. The grouper was good. Will be back to try the branzino.
After reading reviews was very excited to try Red Salt. Service was good throughout and there some things we did enjoy (wine and dessert). For appetizers were had the lobster dumplings and kale Caesar. Dumplings had good flavor but cold. Salad for $15 was just ok. Wife got the filet and I went with the NY strip. Filet was cooked to Temp but my NY strip(ordered Rare+) was medium/medium well so I sent it back. No big deal it happens. Next steak came out although cooked more to temp just lacked any flavor. When your spending $50+ on a steak I’d expect a nice sear/and crust with great flavor but this had neither. Frustrating part is while waiting for my new steak the sides got cold and wife finished her meal. This has happened before and at most steakhouses typically you’d offer to bring new sides out, didn’t happen. For dropping $300+ we won’t be back.
So sorry that you did not enjoy every part of your experience. We will absolutely make sure the chef sees your comments and works to improve them.
Ambiance was contemporary despite the fact our table was next to the garbage table where waiters left their empty trays.
Food was inconsistent. Apps were just okay. Wouldn’t bother with the bacon appetizer as the presentation was cool but that’s about it. Tuna Tartare tacos were again just okay. Mains were really tasty. We had the lobster and skirt steak and then the bourbon pecan pie was nothing special. For the price I would’ve expected better.
Overall, I really enjoyed Red Salt. I do feel it was tad bit overpriced. However, my meal (the grouper over mushroom risotto rice and spinach) was excellent! Also, my waitress was obviously trying to upsell to get a higher tip, pushing a drink, appetizers, and dessert. Other than that, it was a very good experience.
CJones, Really happy that you loved the grouper. We definitely try to offer everything we do to each guest, sorry if it felt heavy handed to you. We want to make sure each of our guests is comfortable enjoying the experience they have in mind so we would love to have you in again anytime even if it is for something quick and casual.
Red salt by David Burke exceeded my expectations. Dinner was excellent. The service was amazing and the atmosphere was beautiful. Looking forward to returning soon.

The food was mediocre at best and fairly expensive for what it was. We ordered most of the appetizers just to test it out before committing to entrees (this is how we test out new Charlotte restaurants) and we did not end up ordering entrees after trying the appetizers.

Food was spot on. Service was attentive. The hush puppies with peppers was a great mix. Short ribs were cooked beautifully and the tin cake was a tad rich but presentation was amazing. Highly recommend for date night. Will be back soon!
The service was fine. We did not care for the atmosphere
and the room was not clean, thick layers of dust on slatted partition next to our table. The appetizers were very good, as were desserts. No one was happy with entrees and didn’t eat more than half. The steak was flavorless and bison short ribs were tough, stringy and on a gooey bed of creamy mushrooms and noodles- looked like stroganoff!
We are not rushing back.

It was my 42nd birthday and my love and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I also liked the fact that Chef introduced himself to the patrons. We will definitely return.
We attended Red Salt for our Anniversary. Chef David Introduced himself personally, and gave us a complimentary dessert! The food was amazing!!! Loved every second.
Fantastic opening weekend. The food was flawless. Lobster dumplings, amazing! Braised short ribs were excellent. The pasta and truffle mousse in the dish was a meal within itself. My wife had the chicken breast with quinoa and apricot glaze. She said it was the best meal she's ever had. We also had the hushpuppies, brussel sprouts and spinach/mushrooms. I could have skipped the spinach. We were too full for dessert, but those that we could see eating dessert, it looked amazing as well. Bruce was our server, and we was fantastic. Got to speak to David Burke for a moment. I wish him and the staff much success. We look forward to going back soon!
Went on opening night and it was fabulous - highly recommend! David Burke made his way through the dining room all night long and stopped by each table at least once, even assisted serving us our appetizer!
