Always a good go-to option. Wide variety of offerings on menu, and the food and service are always friendly and good.
We really enjoyed our dining experience. It was a very comfortable and quiet setting. Also impressed on how attentive our waitress was. Food was delicious.
Loved our dining experience at Red Rocks! Food, service and atmosphere were great. It was a little dark in there, so maybe some candles on the table would be in order?
Great as always!
Food was good and service great
Food, Pasta Primo and Crab Cake were outstnding. Service was very attentive and good. Ron
Second time here. Food was great, service was good. I ordered twin petite filets, medium, I would suggest medium rare next time.
Overall a great experience and a great menu. Don’t forget to get dessert which is awesome.
Great place to hang out outside Charlotte
One of the best waitresses I’ve ever had.
I was a little upset that the kitchen runner brought the cesear salad & she-crab soup to wrong table then walked up to the waitress to confirm delivery. The waitress informed runner that it was wrong table the runner picked up the food and brought it to our table for US to eat. NOT Happy they did not even offer to replace the food!!! Then entrees tasted like frozen peas & carrots with overcooked filet. Very disappointed.
Went to Red Rocks, one of our favorite places, to celebrate Mother’s Day a week late, because RR had a very pricey fixed price menu on Mother’s Day.
First, we (party of 6) we’re stuck in a back room along with a VERY large party (15 or 16 people) as the only other table. Excuse me for making a reservation.
Then, two of our orders were wrong—a pasta dish that was supposed to have shrimp had chicken instead, and something ordered as a sandwich arrived as a salad. Also, I had the blackened chicken croissant sandwich, and the bottom half of the croissant was completely soggy.
The service was very slow, and we waited and waited for drink refills, for which we had to flag down our waitress. Then we waited and waited for our check, which, when it arrived, still had the seafood pasta dish on it, though our friend had agreed to settle for the less expensive chicken version. Got the corrected bill fairly quickly, then waited and waited again to pay it. One of us finally got up and went to find someone to take our payment.
Too bad, because we have loved this place in the past.
Good selection of lunch items. Nathan was our server. Took care of us well while we visited for quite a while.
Red Rocks never disappoints. Menu is large enough to please everyone and food is always great. Service is fantastic.
Came for bookclub and had a great dinner and discussion
We love Red Rocks. It’s probably our favorite restaurant in town. The service is always great and Sunday night was no exception. Jenny was attentive but not overbearing. Great dinner.
The Reuben and Chicken saltimboca were very good, but my wife's chicken tenders/fingers were pretty awful because they were so heavily breaded. I took a good-sized bite and got only fried bread, no chicken. Tell RR to lighten up on the breading. Otherwise the service was great and RR lives up to its reputation as a good neighborhood venue for our family special occasions.
Great Mothers Day Dinner.
This has become my favorite place to eat in Charlotte.
Food wass great and service is always excellent!
Mother’s Day brunch was very good. The restaurant was very busy and the staff handled it well. The food on the pre fixed menu was excellent. Only disappointment was that at 12:30 pm they were out of cheese cake. That said I highly recommend Red Rocks
We made a reservation for Mother's Day after checking their website only to get there and find out it was affixed menu for $35-$40-per head. NO mention of a fixed menu on their website. Total Bait and switch and very pricey and limited for lunch with our kids! If they were going to have a fixed menu , we should have known. Very disappointed. I won't be recommending this place to anyone. Sad too because their regular menu looked great.

We had a very nice Mother’s Day brunch.
Mother’s Day weekend
Great food options, dress was relatively casual (many in shorts and polos) despite the prices being a little higher.
Great dinner with family! Food was great ,service was excellent- Red Rocks is a favorite and this visit did not disappoint!
Great food. Quiet room.
A wonderful special and terrific service. Waiter was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He had tried most of the meals and was helpful in describing them.
The food as usual was great. However our server Was MIA most of the evening. Other servers were kind to refill drinks. She showed up in the end and we asked for boxes. She walked away and we called her back to ask for desert menu. We’ve had better.
Consistent quality and value.
My husband and I were dying to try this location but alas was disappointed .We were very hungry and had ordered Papa Love's Spinach & Walnut Ravioli and my husband had opted for Saturday Special Filet Mignon & Trio Coconut Shrimp with mashed potatoes and Asparagus as the side. We found the quality of food ok and restaurant very pricey . I had found a hair on my plate as soon the waitress was handing me over , they apologized for it and brought me another but I was so grossed out , lost my appetite and did not enjoy the dish .Everything was simply ok just enjoyed the mashed potatoes . Ambience was good , had the service and food been great. Desserts looked great before but not after having the dinner , so we just left without trying anything more.
I had read the reviews about this place and decided to try it. We were not disappointed. The food and service was the best. I can’t wait to go back and try the other items in the menu because I believe the food won’t disappoint. It seems like this is one of those hidden gems and I’m excited about going many more times.
Disappointing Anniversary Dinner... Jenny and Allison took good care of us. The food was less than spectacular. For the prices and the reviews of friends I expected so much more. The tuna appetizer was good and the vanilla bean and chocolate dessert was great. The main courses lacked the flavor, creativity, and quality you would expect. I had the crab cakes and subbed the rice for potatoes. The crab cakes were displayed on the potatoes. If they were seared on both sides it would have been ok. But you had cake on the potatoes and they stuck and broke apart due to the moisture. The crab cakes lacked flavor. They were better when I asked for lemon for them. The veggies were simple and good, carrots, broccoli, zucchini, and squash. My wife had the special surf and turf. The apricot sauce was horrible and all over the plate. It was for the coconut shrimp, but was plated under everything. It overwhelmed the dish and underwhelmed us. The asparagus was fine, the fillet was ok. The coconut shrimp was overcooked and seemed as if it came out of a box in the freezer. We were told how great this place was and we could not in good conscious refer it to a friend.
we were there to celebrate my daughters graduation from Queens University on Saturday. The food was delicious as always, and the service. My daughter has special diet needs and the server was great about helping her get the information she needed to order something she could have. She thoroughly enjoyed her steak.
Decided to eat here after making a day trip to Charlotte. It did not disappoint. The food, service, and ambience (played all types of music) was perfect!
Always good, I almost always get whatever is the chef's special.
We been here a few times, I think the wait staff is
friendly but a alittle standoffish. I’ve had much more friendlier service at restaurants that cost 1/2 as much as Red Rocks. You would think it would be the opposite. I agree with other reviews, it’s too dark inside, we had a hard time reading the menus.
After seeing decent reviews, we decided to give Red Rocks a try. We should've turned around when we saw a bunch of prom couples there...extremely disappointed with the quality of food and the ambiance leaves something to be desired. So many better options in Charlotte.
Predictably delicious, fresh and satisfying. Love being able to reserve on Open Table. Red Rocks is a family favorite and we will be back!
Red Rocks has stood the test of time. We've been going there for 25 years, but had never tried their brunch until Sunday. I had made a reservation for indoor seating for 5, but our group changed to 6 and we decided to sit outside instead. The staff seamlessly adjusted. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food, as always, was reliable. The only recommendation I would have is to use ground sausage instead of sliced links for the sausage gravy. This is, after all, the South. Other than that, highly recommend.
