Red Rocks Cafe - Charlotte
Hannah was a terrific waitress! She always had a smile and made our birthday evening special!!
We visited for my wife's birthday. It was the first time in since the renovation. Good food as always. Great desserts. Liked the new design. It made it quieter than it was before.
Great food and folks!
Really enjoyed the new decor and renovations.
Staff is terrific!
The naming of the specials was a nice touch; caught me off guard, but impressed my friends.
Always exceeds expectations. Neighborhood hang out feel, very comfortable and stylish. Great choice, never go wrong choosing Red Rocks
Great food and service, local touch, background music is so much more in tune with the vibe and clientele as compared to the previous pop music. Thanks for listening to our previous feedback, there is nothing worse than trying to relax after work with pop music of today in the background! Cheers!
Service was attentive and we loved the tuna avocado.
Jen was a very attentive server. We had our young children with us and wanted to enjoy a nice meal. The food was great for the adults and the kids. Jen made successful and appropriate suggestions to make the most of our time there. We will be going back.
Always good food & service!
The guy who seated us said our reservation was for 2 rather than 3 and seemed annoyed. Our waitress was terrible. Forgot to put in the one glass of wine we ordered for my wife and even forgot what kind of wine. I asked for a beer list and she brought me another menu. We had to ask several times for water.
Have eaten at Red Rocks at least 4 times in the last year. The food and service has always been above average to very good. When something goes sideways, they are quick to fix the issue. The atmosphere has been typically moderate to low as the noise goes, our last outing it was so noisy we sat outside, which we don't mind. It's a all around favorite go to every so often.
Excellent food. Never been disappointed with a meal at Red Rocks. Creative, unique food perpetration. Large menu to select from.
Excellent Deserts selection.
My wife and I have dined there several times this summer. We have found the service and food to be excellent as well as nice atmosphire.
Great place. Made reservations and mentioned my Sister In Law's birthday. When we got there one the specials for the day was named for her. Made such an impression that it brought a tear to her eye. Just a little something special like this make you want to go back again and again. Plus, the food is delicious also.
We've been to Red Rocks many times over the years and with the new remodeling that was just done, it's now truly a more open, light and modern environment that captures both the same ambiance and a more modern appearance. Clean, great service and the same great food that we've become accustomed to over the last 20 years. Superb!!!
We have been to Red Rocks many times in the past and have always enjoyed our meal. This meal was sadly, not great. It was our first visit since the renovation which should not impact the food at all but of the 7 people at our table, everyone's meal was underwhelming. My salmon was bland, the grits were terrible and the green beans were basic. My husband had chicken marsala that had no marshal flavor. My daughter always gets the herb chicken and loves it hers was lacking flavor as well. The people in our party who ordered steak were happy with their meals though all commented that the potatoes were very bland and lacking in flavor. I hope that Red Rocks gets back to what it was before closing for the renovation.
We arrived at 1:40pm on a Sunday afternoon for our 1:45 reservation., party of 5. The hostess put us in a booth, which we should have informed her that this was not appropriate for elderly people with a walker! 5-10 minutes later the server took our drink order (water, tea, soda). 10-15 minutes later she finally came back and took our food order. We were not servered our food until 2:50pm! We had our elderly diabetic parents with us! This could have gone very badly for them! The place wasn’t even busy, and I understand why! Too often we have terrible service at RedRocks. We will not return!
I will always recommend Red Rocks.
This time my and my husband’s (ordered) rare tuna was over cooked- well done and I don’t mean good job. The server offered a redo and the next order was much better. I recommend that servers look at the food prior to delivering it to the table and fixing it if necessary rather than hoping it’ll be ok. I will be back- we have eaten at Red Rocks at least 100 times, so 1 mess up out of 100 = 99 great experiences!
Excellent food and service. Lots of great variety on the menu. It’s a favorite place of ours!
The restaurant makeover was incredible ... red Rocks is one of our go to places. You can always count on the food, the service and their attention to detail
Well done John
Great food and great people as always.
Love the new set-up and the new additions to the menu! Excellent as always! Our favorite restaurant!
We really like the variety of the menu options. There is something for everyone.
We always look forward to Red Rocks Cafe. The food is consistently great.
Just reopened and updated. Always a great place. Excellent value and will visit again soon.
Lovely restaurant (like the recent updates!) offering a great selection of always well-prepared dishes served by a competent and friendly staff. What more can you ask for in a restaurant? Have been eating at Red Rocks for years -- always my "go to" for gathering with friends and for special occasions.
Always a special pleasure dining at Red Rocks; just great in all ways.
Always consistent and reliable. A great low key neighborhood place to get a good meal.
The food was delicious, the server was very attentive, but it was SO noisy, we couldn’t carry on a normal voice conversation. If you want a nice, relaxing, quiet evening, this is not the place to go for dinner.
I've been twice since the refurbishment and I have to say I'm a little disappointed. It's dark and unwelcoming, industrial looking and the noise from the overhead music was so loud, we had to raise our voices to be heard. Menu is the same in those dirty folders. Won't return if I don't have to
Pleasant ambiance good service amazing food diverse menu good quiet evening only downside the restaurant lighting at our table was dark otherwise moderately priced restaurant will definitely return
We’ve been to the location in Birkdale Village and really enjoyed it. We had been waiting for the reopening to go in for the lobster linguine and salad with buffalo chicken and of course their coconut cake. The only thing that didn’t disappoint was the cake. Service was very slow and then the first bad news- no lobster linguine. Finally decided on the four cheese penne after a warning from the server about how cheesy it was, which was more like a selling point to us! Husband ordered a salad with the buffalo fried chicken and daughter ordered the Black ended shocker croissant.
About 15 min later the server comes out to say they have no croissants. He did not bring a menu just offered white or rye bread. She chose white but was bummed. At this time I asked if they could still try to make the lobster pasta but with angel hair pasta instead of linguine since I saw on the menu that they still had both lobster and angel hair pasta. After a long wait the server came back to say that no that couldn’t because they don’t have lobster or linguine. Even though they have two other dishes on the menu with lobster and angel hair pasta o just dropped it. But was annoyed. Then the food came- there was NO cheese in my cheese sauce, only the light sprinkle of cheese on top. Disappointing. The buffalo sauce on my husband’s salad was SWEET. Another bummer.
The worst though was when the bill came and I was upcharged $2 for shrimp and husband $1 for buffalo sauce. However if were nickel and diming- o credit for my daughter’s missing croissant! Another dish had a $1 upcharge for shrimp so it seemed odd to be overcharged for the same. And then to charge for buffalo sauce? That just came across very cheap.
We’ll definitely give this place plenty of time for the new staff to get up to speed before returning or maybe just forego this location altogether and go to birkdale village instead.
Waited for the renovations to be completed. Went for my mothers 95th birthday and they made it special!
I always get the chicken saltimboca and it wasn't quite as before, Maybe they changed the chef, the recipe but I will still go back and try another dish!
Great restaurant. The service was quick and very efficient, the waitresses were very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious!! I asked for extra crispy bacon on my sandwich and they did it just right. Got tater tots on the side w/ ranch dressing and they were excellent. Brought my side if ranch out with my meal, didn't have to ask for it again b/c they remembered to bring it with the meal. The ambiance, service, and food were all excellent. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
Red Rocks continues to be the best, most consistent restaurant in the area, they always have great food and smiling people, my kids even ask to come here
Just had an appetizer and dessert. I had the best carrot cake I have ever eaten! The brusetta was very good to.
I have been dining at this restaurant since 2004. I love it, and have always had good service. The only reason I gave it before was because this was the first time my server was not engaging. It seemed as if he didn’t want to be there and I’ve never experienced this before in the 14 years that I have been a patron
I had the salmon with dill sauce. This is the 2nd time I've been to this restaurant and the salmon wasn't quite as good as the last time....not enough flavor to the sauce but still a very good dish. They will be closing next week for some renovations, I think for a week. Hopefully they won't change the ambiance, since it's a very charming place. They have been at the same location for 26 years! I understand the whole shopping center will be closing for a period of time to redo the driveways, etc. So check before you go. They will also be opening a location in Indian Land in August. Hope it's just as good AND with the same decor.
I have been to Red Rock on several occasions and I have yet to disappointed. The menu is extensive with all the different choices you could want. I usually get a seafood dish and the Chet Snow Salmon is my favorite. The desert choices are decadent with large portions that can be shared. The food is delicious and the appetizers are great.
Friends were in from out of town to celebrate their wedding anniversary and Red Rocks is always our first restaurant to introduce friends to. As always food, atmosphere and service was awesome!
Red Rocks has been at this location for many years. It has a good variety of dishes very well prepared. And the value is good. There is nothing that is a negative; no wait, the parking lot is sometimes quite full. They now take reservations which is nice if you drive across town to visit. A favorite of ours.
