Red Rocks Cafe - Charlotte Ratings and Reviews
Our #1 place to dine. Food & service has never disappointed. Servers are always prompt to our table, very attentive without being annoying, and we are amazed how the kitchen has our salads/food/desserts timed perfectly. Managers always in view. We especially enjoy talking to Jeff (Manager) who we met when he was a server. Genuinely personable & attentive.
We have enjoyed dining at Red Rocks-Southpark & seeing familiar staff faces over the years. Try the Halibut (when it is offered) or the Salmon, you will NOT be disappointed.
Server was very attentive and answered any question regarding the menu selection. However, the quality of the food was not as good as it has been in the past. Chicken was cooked well, but the potatoes were a bit bland and almost cold. Price was a little high for the quality.
While the food was good, I was VERY disappointed in the accommodations especially after making specific reservations through OpenTable for a handicapped guest AND after the hostess verbally confirmed my reservation and request. When we arrived I was advised by the hostess we had to wait to be seated for a booth (which is what I requested) and it would be an undetermined amount of time. However, I could have a table now which is what I didn’t want for my handicapped guest. I might add the hostess was quite rude about the matter too. So I guess Red Rocks doesn’t care about making accommodations for the handicapped and the hostess staff doesn’t care either!!!!!! Sadly disappointed in the entire situation!!!!!!!!! While my review states I would recommend to a friend/family I would stress not to go if you require specific accommodations!!!!!!!!!
Red Rocks is a great neighborhood restaurant. While part of a chain, there is no chain feel. The dining experience is obviously very important to the managers. Our food tonight was very good. The chicken saltimbocca was excellent. The "Southern Salad" had some of the best chicken tenders I've ever had. Our service was excellent as well. This is a perfect place for a casual evening meal.
This was our first visit. I was very disappointed with my meal. My husbands meal was very good, he had the special with scallops and shrimp. I ordered the NY strip with Brussels sprouts. The steak was mediocre with very little seasoning. Same with the Brussels sprouts. They were undercooked, almost hard, with very little flavor. We chose Red Rocks based on a recommendation from a friend as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. I would potentially go again but would not order a steak again. The service was excellent. We were in and out in 45 minutes.
Are usually eat at the Huntersville location but since it's been closed we decided to try the Charlotte location for my birthday. I was not as impressed with our appetizer of calamari as it was kind of cold and my sides weren't as good as they usually are!!!
It was a visit for my birthday so it was a little disappointing
We made some specific requests for where to be seated when I made the reservation on OpenTable. When we arrived it was as if the staff did not know what “table, not booth, away from drink station and bathroom access, somewhere not noisy”meant. After offering us two different unsatisfactory places to sit that were directly in conflict with what had been specifically requested, we were seated in the Party Room. That proved to be ideal for our needs. But it was frustrating to think that our specific requests had perhaps not even been read on the reservation notes...so what’s the point?
The menu is extensive with absolutely incredible food. The service was wonderful. We split an order of Bruschetta, and had the Southwest Ravioli and Fettuccine as our entree. We split a slice of their chocolate cake which was wonderful but too big for us to finish.
Food was really good and management was attentive. The server was friendly and offered menu and wine selections. I just can't say it was the best experience. There was a high school reunion going on while we were there, which appeared to have the wait staff just a little distracted. I watched one family wait for at least 15 minutes before anyone got back to them. Thankfully, they had water and menus, but they were obviously frustrated. It also looked like the senior servers were training new staff, which I would never have done on a Saturday night while an event was going on. We had a hard time enjoying our date with all the distractions. It just felt off. We will go back and try it again. Perhaps at a different time and day.
Wide variety of items On menu. Sunday brunch had several selections. I ordered eggs Benedict. Eggs were similar to hard boiled (way too overcooked) served w/ a very tiny amt of hollandaise. Other meal ordered was also unimpressive. This is a nice looking establishment and has good parking. Staff was pleasant ad dessert case looked lovely.
