   Menu options sufficient. Server was attentive at the right times, hostess has very good. Seafood linguini was just ok, for some reason chili flakes are used in the pasta which were a bit heavy handed, sauce lacked any substance to actually stick to the pasta. Same for the veal dish someone else had, pasta was too spicy. Our other two guests had chicken parm and their pasta lacked flavour, just tasted like cream. Chicken and veal were both very good though. Highlight of our meal other than the 60th bday celebration was the dessert, tiramisu was very good and was a big portion. We were grateful to have a nice place to eat in Waterton in the winter. I think there is an opportunity to tighten up the execution of the pasta and sauces that accompany them. Thank you.

   It was wonderful to have a quiet serene place to spend Christmas eve for dinner, and Christmas day for a light lunch. The gentleman serving was very professional and friendly.

   Our server was very polite and friendly and our food was beyond expectations! We had a lovely table by the fireplace. The server apologized for the main course being slow but it wasn’t really that slow. We felt bad for them as an ignorant patron was giving them a hard time over a corkage fee, he’s the only thing that wasn’t good about it and it had nothing to do with the Red Rock. . Lovely place for our honeymoon dinner

   While the server was friendly and the food came out relatively quickly, we had to ask twice for water. Food was decent but ridiculously overpriced. $18 CN for a Caprese salad that consisted of a few slices of tasteless red tomato, a few small yellow tomatoes, and a golf ball size of burrata cheese. We shared the lasagne, which was just ok. Definitely not worth the price.

    Visiting Waterton, read previous reviews and thought this would be a nice place for a dinner. We made reservations for 7pm, arrived promptly and found the place to be three quarters full. The atmosphere of this small (34 seat) restaurant appeared warm and welcoming. We were greeted by Mandy, who was friendly and accommodated us on the request for a more private table than the initial offering of a table at the long bench between two other couples. Unfortunately, it went downhill from here. Our server appeared very overwhelmed, while our appetizer salad arrived shortly after ordering, it was over two hours later when she took our food order and we got our meals thirty minutes after that. When we finally received our dinner, it was a great disappointment. The salmon was very small piece on a plateful of pasta accompanied by three little clams.and was so over cooked it was hardly edible. The special of bison with cheese tortellini lacked flavour and freshness. For the price - $34 per plate - we were very disappointed. There were a number of other tables also waiting long periods for food and service. Throughout our wait, we were not checked on even though it was more than obvious that we were waiting to have our order taken. Our appetizer plates sat empty on the table for the two and a half hours - there was a fellow who appeared to bus tables but only when parties had left; otherwise we weren’t too sure what he did as the two ladies serving appeared to do all the work. Apologies were made at the end of our evening and excuses given that the computer system was down and they had a new chef in the kitchen in training. It’s too bad really as this establishment’s previous reviews made it appear really quite good.

Our computer system went down in the height of dinner rush and we had to do everything by hand which took up a lot of time and affects service. We understand you were not happy by the exaggerated times on your review. We close at 9pm and everything was served by then so you couldn't have waited 2.5 hours. The server was so upset by your review she was crying as she felt she gave good service . We are sorry for that. i hope you give us another try to impress you

    There was no air conditioning the service was not what we expected for the price and level of dining we weren't asked for a second glass of water or another drink and we were there for our anniversary supper Good thing the food was good but we will never return

    Our entire experience was exceptional. The restaurant is very attractive. Our server was over the top great; she was very informative on helping us make food and wine selections and extremely personable. The food was delicious. Noise level was low which we appreciated; noisy restaurants are not to our liking. Great evening.

    Food was excellent however do not go here if you have young children unused to gourmet Italian. Would have been nice to have a couple of child friendly options. Must have been our servers first day. Did not even know what pops were available. Music very loud. I like it to be in the background not drowning conversation.

    The food was excellent. There was 4 of us, we enjoyed all our food especially the Pear & Fennel Salad, Spaghetti & Kobe Style Meatballs, Veal Scallopini which is not traditional (breaded but so tasty). Penne All’arrabbiata is nice too but a little bit salty. Salmon Picatta is so yummy but it's a small 3" × 3" on a bed of tagliatelle. Cauliflower appetizer is nice too.

    I would on the whole recommend this restaurant. I think they’re trying hard although there are some easy to fix things that might improve the experience. The decor and particularly the padded seats were very nice. For a restaurant that is charging top dollar for its pastas I would expect a more prompt and professional service. While our waitress was trying hard she lacked some elementary skills of waitressing. She cleared the plates (finally) by reaching across the table rather than going around. We bought a very nice bottle of wine and would have appreciated her returning at some point to refill our glasses rather than allowing us to do all of that. By the time we left, the restaurant was quite full and we waited a significant time for each step in the process. My wife ordered a gluten-free pasta and, given the different ingredients, it came back over-cooked and falling apart. This is some thing the chef should have been aware of. However, I will say the flavour of her choice was excellent. I know all small businesses are trying hard and this one included. I wish them all success. The issues are not hard to fix, a little more training for the junior waitress. We pointed out the overcooked pasta for which she apologized but we were not offered any discount or refund until we mentioned it at the time of paying.

    Outstanding! So impressed with this gem, it was hard to believe we were in a small tourist town (had the elegance and quality of any big city 5 star restaurant). We have travelled extensively through Italy and this meal was on par with some of the best we’ve had there. Nicely varied menu options with a decent enough wine selection. Thoroughly enjoyed the shrimp appetizer, the veal , the cheese tortellini with bison special, and the canolli dessert was impossible to resist! We hope to be back to Waterton one day, and we would definitely dine here again!

    Good food although options were limited as an increasing number of menu items were unavailable or sold out as the evening progressed. Not good when it’s a small menu to begin with. The restaurant is operated, but not owned by, a family where dad is the chef, mom is the hostess, and the kids help out. Tonight it seems the 16 year-old son was doing the cooking because it’s dad’s night off which was one reason for the limited menu offerings. These are nice people and it would be a cute story at a corner cafe…..but this is one of Waterton’s top restaurants and you would expect better. Our meals were very good but we felt badly for people coming in later who had much less to choose from. Be aware that if you collect Open Table Rewards points that the owner, Bayshore Inn and Spa, chooses not to honour Rewards dining vouchers. This made for an uncomfortable conclusion to the evening.
